If this does well, can we expect to see 'NadalCoin' and 'DjokovicCoin'?
Can't wait!

yea people should hit up coinedup too. cryptsy seems to be having probs with the huge doge volume. we might not be as big, but coinedup and cryptsy would be a lot better than just cryptsy.

total nub question time - havent been at this long :p

I currently use the windows qt client...

1) do I need to do this update?
2) how would I go about backing up my current payment address/wallet balance?
3) how do I put that back into the new updated client?

sorry if the answers to these are obvious to the experienced guys but till now Ive never had to do more than download a wallet and point a miner at it lol

thanks
1. Yes
2. Just backup the file named wallet.dat in your (assuming windows over here) %appdata%/Roaming/FedoraCoin/ folder.
3. You should not need to, the back up is for the worst case scenario.

thankyou Smiley  doing it now

edit:  yay for nub friendly updates Smiley  all done no dramas, thanks again Smiley

0.42 released! Update before block 2500 or risk hard fork!
Changes:
- Difficulty algo should be the same as DogeCoin from block 2500 onwards, except we'll have the difficulty adjusting every 10 minutes
- Block reward tiers have changed:
Block 0 - 9999 = 1 - 5,000,000 coin reward
Block 10000 - 19999 = 1 - 2,500,000 coin reward
Block 20000 - 29999 = 1 - 1,250,000 coin reward
Block 30000 - 39999 = 1 - 625,000 coin reward
Block 40000 - 49999 = 1 - 312,500 coin reward
Block 50000 - 59999 = 1 - 156,250 coin reward
Block 60000+ = static 50000 coin reward

Download at http://fedoraco.in/

As always, if you have any issues feel free to join the IRC and let us know.

Edit: FedoraCore is now updated to 0.42

I re-cloned it from Git, but I don't see any difference in information:

{
    "version" : 60400,
    "protocolversion" : 60003,
    "walletversion" : 60000,
    "balance" : 11466747.72622265,
    "blocks" : 2108,
    "connections" : 6,
    "proxy" : "",
    "difficulty" : 35.81568020,
    "testnet" : false,
    "keypoololdest" : 1387862521,
    "keypoolsize" : 101,
    "paytxfee" : 0.00000000,
    "mininput" : 0.00010000,
    "errors" : ""
}

Is there a way to make sure this is the latest 0.42 using wallet commands?

Does it mean that the difficulty will not go down before the block 2500 ? which is more than ~34h away ?

Edit: had my answer on IRC : yes we have to wait to avoid any hardfork
