How do you wannabe journalist FUD guys even sleep at night?  Your ideas are valid but the result of your conclusion is skewed negative.  Poor Reporting.  Of course the code is the similar.  BTC -> LTC -> PEER ->DOGE -> DRK -> MAST   Everything is similar with minor improvements that take alot of work.  You can only tell if you have a profitable coin if you can make it out of the first couple weeks.  Is Voot Innovative?  Not yet but it is cutting edge.

And IF YOU KNEW ONE THING, you can get the source from QT if you knew how to decompile... GOOD GOD I hate people who think they are smart.  Instead of getting all half cocked, learn how this stuff works and then report, dont compare three files because guess what, they are nearly the same.  Its all the same freaking Code... Go watch Spaceballs or something. ( Deep Breath)

If you were to make a coin, would it be a cloned LTC?  I would clone DRK and customize it to make it my own.  So stop it.  I want another X11 coin.  You will get no credit for being a whistle blower.  If you dont like the coin, move on.  I wouldn't pay two cents for your opinion.

Well, promoting a whole new concept as the main attractive, without even explain what are you downloading or what will be this... justifying premine with non-existant features... and explaining that the project will be closed source 3 hours after launch (and after premine is done)...

Not very positive about this, but still i am in, just stay alert Tongue

I really like the coin's concept, and I would love to take part in the beta if you'd want me to

I looked at those troll posts they are involved in coins promising anonymous wallet for the past 1-2 months now. I think the idea of a place to use untraceable coins is very brilliant not like other coins that people are holding in hope that it will go up in value overnight without any real world usage.

Vootcoin is not from coin generator. The source was based on recent X11 coin.

This is just some people making baseless FUD without any evidence. We are attracting lots of trolls because we are offering something new. The code will be closed source so that all the trolls that are trying to force us to release the code because they want to implement it in their coins.

And you are taking peoples money through the premine without any evidence of doing ANYTHING. It's a clone coin.

Even if everything you claimed was true, closed-source anonymity is useless! If nobody can verify what it's doing, then nobody can possibly trust that it's properly anonymous!
Closed-source anonymity is as pointless as closed source digital currency - the whole point of digital currency is it can be validated by others, therefore it can be trusted.

Is there some kind of generator program that coin devs are using nowadays?

Proof?
If youre on windows, just download the blackcatcoin, libertycoin and vootcoin sources from github, then use the free program WinMerge to get difference counts on the 'src' directories. You can then easily look at the differences in each changed file.  Most differences in this case are just the name text search&replace.  The rest are the various coin parameter constants.  Also, when checking for trojans that might be placed in the source, it's a good idea to compare all the files used when building the daemon at least.

It seems that all the recent x11/x13 coins I've checked like this are clones.  It's a BIG stretch to say, but maybe they are using the clone as a base to bootstrap their coin while adding off-chain features to their closed clients. Makes sense to build off a working example.

Don't touch this with a bargepole!

The coin is being launched without even the design for the anonymity, yet it's claimed the anonymity is in beta stage!

The devs say they'll keep it closed source, and it won't come out for anyone to see for another 3-4 weeks. That means nobody will be able to verify if there has been any work done at all until well after any price will have peeked and the devs can have run off with the money.

The coin is simply a clone made using a coin generator.

If these were real developers they would not have used a coin generator! And they would have either a working coin or something good to show us.

My hashrate is all over the place at suprnova!? I have 40MH rig side, and crashing down to 7MH pool side.

Same issue here I have a 30mh rig and sometimes it showed up as 6mh pool side.

Builds up to 40MH and then down to 1mH...

Pool hashrate is doing it to on my side, so I'll leave them here.

Can always join http://voot.hardcoreminers.com We still need hash!

Hardcorminers, your pool doesn't pay out. Please fix it.

Did some source code compares.  This is yet another fork off the same source tree that libertycoin, dreamcoin and blackcatcoin used.  Only the minimum amount of changes needed to generate a unique coin were detected.  Is there some kind of generator program that coin devs are using nowadays?

Proof?

EVERYTHING YOU CAN IMAGINE IS REAL
Here's a Mac wallet, friends:

https://mega.co.nz/#!JYpGUCJT!2fVoFWmY3jqQpc1ybVmcQCCFkHNv7TRPpBxrDbSrxfQ

Bounties/tips always appreciated!   Grin VDc68666qxjdVMnpjzmFCfcyckmUKmyKqN

Just tested it on 10.9.3.
Got this error on first launch.  But it opened without issues the second time.
Still waiting for an active connection to show up.

Try adding the config info and nodes from the OP to the conf file.  Will test more tomorrow but wife was yelling at me to put my laptop away.   Grin

Done and synced, thanks.

For those that don't know how to add a conf file to a mac wallet.

Go to Finder -> Go -> Go to Folder... -> type "~/Library/Application Support/" press enter and look for Vootcoin.
Create a txt file and paste the addnodes into it and save it to that folder with the name vootcoin.conf.
Reopen your wallet and you should be good to go.
