Many people are missing all the team did.

As soon as VeriCoin was alerted they shut off Veri-bit ect and secured the coin from every way possible. Including an unpopular descision to protect its community from a thief. End of Story, VeriCoin is here to stay, and its here to change the way people view crypto. Live with it.
...
Such event only hurt whole crypto reputation and shows how easy you can make rollbacks on demand...
Rollback like this will damage image of All alts...

All because of VRC community was keeping 1/3 of all coins in one place
even with that POS coins like Nova PPC NXT BC can resist those attacks
you have "centralized checkpoints" to solve  issues like that...
you can play with stake modfiacators, coin age, time stamps to make such attack almost imposable to execute...

Rollback here is for save coin in short therm it creates dangerous social experiment for all crypto
i will never support that that is why BTC is huge...

I thought the point of crypto was that it couldn't be shut-off by just a few people?

FRS = VRC

The Federal Reserve System (also known as the Federal Reserve, and informally as the Fed) is the central banking system of the United States. It was created on December 23, 1913, with the enactment of the Federal Reserve Act, largely in response to a series of financial panics, particularly a severe panic in 1907. Over time, the roles and responsibilities of the Federal Reserve System have expanded, and its structure has evolved. Events such as the Great Depression were major factors leading to changes in the system.

Looks like Vericoin it's going by centralized decisions Smiley . Because looks like they will handle any panic with roll-backs and all sort of gimicks .
Those Coins should have been destroyed and Mintpal take a bite from this bullet as they had a lot of money from paid votes they could have easy buyed them back from market and even help Vericoin increase .

But no it rather had a centralized decision of rolling back all possible transactions in favor of Mintpal profit and business . I wonder why GOX risk prison now and all this trouble when he could speak with Bitcoin Foundation , roll-back the blockchain . Fair , right ? And not lost 500.000.000$ of people investment . And those money would have benefit all cryptocurrencies today even Vericoin , who knows at least a doubled market-cap , right ? Smiley

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Available Now!
All of this arguing is null. 1 of 2 things will happen here. The scheduled pump will take place and vrc community will brag about next bitcoin. Or, the pump teams will be scared off from this and vrc will go the way of blackcoin.

All those who kid themselves can now start trashing this comment.

The thing I don't understand is why people are still leaving massive amounts of coins on exchanges  Huh. And even more in the case of VRC where you can get staking interests.

LoL Because the "investors" were waiting for Daikoku pump and were going to dump it at 50k, that's why were so many coins at the exchanges. Check out IRC and twitters how many penny fucker have been waiting Daikoku like Jews waiting for the Messiah to come.

100 pages in the last 24 hours or so.

This coin been around for 2 months, and the forum activity is up 25% in past 24 hours alone.

Got a strange feeling ALL eyes on are vericoin right now. Price has been relatively stable post fork. Looks like the people actually holding coins are pretty confident with the coin.

100 new pages, most of them FUD are for a reason people.

It looks like VeriCoin is going mainstream sooner than we expected.

Congrats dude! finally! finally someone with a clear mind........Wise words from a wise man! I've been following this thread since yesterday. My summary would be: devs of other coins and holders of others coins are simply pissed that vericoin is not dead and the attack to "eliminate" vericoin was not successful, and that's just because they see the tremendous potential within vericoin and ITS COMMUNITY! this coin has potential.
This coin is ment to be used by everyone out there not just by community members using this thread.vericoin is a revolution and a pain in the ass of all the coins that suck so bad....horns up for vericoin.

The funny thing is is that if the roll-back hadn't happened, Mintpal would have no choice but to reimburse everyone with BTC at the market value of VRC when the theft happened. Instead everyone is getting their coins back which now have a chunk of value missing which may never return and Mintpal lose practically nothing. VRC holders are being taken for mugs and are just letting it happen.

Correct, another of many solutions that would have been more fair then the rollback...

I feel bad for the VRC devs cause they did such a great job and now they"ll see all the fruit of their labour getting destroyed by a selfish, amateuristic, egocentric company as mintpal

like everyone got their money from gox right , ow w8 no they didnt.

for sure the victims in this are the VRC devs.

id like see the conversation between the devs and mintpal , how it went down.

I dont see any senario where mintpal would have paid back the 2mln , even if they have that kind of cash lying around doing nothing i doubt very much they would use it to payback the investors.

Go ahead and vote, trolls you are welcome to.

http://strawpoll.me/2108265/r

63% in favor of fork
37% against fork.

So, if we lose 1 investor, and gain 2 because of this fork. I think VeriCoin will grow after all this. People want quality, not pump and dump scams.

The whales/market makers need large amounts to fill the orderbooks and create volume. Also most holders are traders.

Did they save my investment from harm?
YES
Did the coin show that is safe to put real money into it?
YES
For big investors should i put my money in BTC and let it get robbed or should i put in a coin where the community cares about and its safe VRC?
VRC

from a investors point of view this will say to the markets "HEY I WILL KEEP YOU SAFE NO MATTER WHAT"

BTC also get forked so why this talk? we must be tks otherwise lots of ppl will get is coins stolen.

Kudos to the DEV's and the Community

Did they save my investment from harm?
YES

Hmmm not really agree with you there, let's take my case, i had quite some k VRC on mintpal, it seems I will have not lost any VRC... BUT it's not only the amount of coins, it's more the value of my coins, a realistic scenario is massive vrc dumps comming in at all other exchanges trading vrc and my coins being worth jackshit at the moment I can access them again on mintpal.

Now, I donot say this is the fault of the VRC team, these guys did an amazing job and I can imagine the decision for rollback was not taken lightly... my first reaction was happiness but then I sat back and tought about it a bit longer and could do nothing but conclude this rollback is the worst solution possible.  It destroys the chain of trust, it removed all realworld value from the coin.
No, I'm certainly not trying to FUD cause I'll lose quite some money in this and I truly hoped VRC would be my intermediate ticket to moon... sadly a ticked destroyed by the amateurism that is mintpal.

I can only do 1 legit sugestion here and that is for everybody to pullback all coins from Mintpal, they destroyed again a good thing and they should get seriously punished for it!

But the big dupms of coins are always done by people,it's their choice to dump it and loose money,as an investor you have a choice,if you get into coin you suppose to support it,which might mean hold at times..the price doesn't drop on it's own..

These are done by people indeed, but sadly it is what is going to happen. I was planning this VRC as long term invest but the decision for rollback is not something i can support and many many more investors will share this opinion... not fair for VRC as they did a good job and all this shit is created by mintpals amateurism but it's just the way it is.

The decision for rollback was taken to fast.

Would't it have been 1000x better if (in chronological order):

1. Message gets send out fork might be incoming, all transactions should be put on hold
2. Fork gets created to eliminate stolen coins (not returning them to mintpal but really destroyed)
3. New wallets go live
4. Mintpal gets forced to buy the amount of stolen VRC on market to compensate victims (thus creating huge buy pressure)
5. All back to normal but : Thief has nothing, investers have all coins back at even higher value

..the question in that scenario is,what if Mintpal can't afford to compensate victims, thus there would be no buy pressure, but there would be lot of angry people who lost their coins, investments in VRC in that order..

Every coin would have been comprimised if Mintpal had a run. People would have lost money, end of story. In this scenario, the theif gets nothing, and the vericoin team takes a step back to fix the problem and as we all learn from it, We will grow as a vericoin comunity. This will not shake the investors off the coin, and may even bring in more investors sick of terrible devs, and PnD scams.

Did anyone make sucessful withdraw from mintpal yet ? Mine are marked as succesful but not showing into my wallet. I filled a support ticket obv but also have to say it here.

Pls do not make any transactions right now. A lot of people still are on wrong fork, and I suspect the criminals are trying to attack the chain as much as possible while others are still slow to switch.

Just hold tight people. Keep a eye on official news from the devs. Stear clear of the FUD. VeriCoin will grow stronger and larger because of this issue.
