I have an issue where if i run this with 20 or more cores, the app crashes, I have a dual socket with 2 x Xeon E5-2670 8 core / 16 thread each.

Is there an issues with more than a certain amount of cores for this miner? Does it not like HT?

[EDIT]
Just saw this
https://www.reddit.com/r/vericoin/comments/6ez0g2/verium_vault_crashes_when_more_than_22_processors/

[EDIT]

I am running now with minerd instead .

Question, I was trying to use vrm2.poolinat0r.com:7103  , but i get Stratum_subscribe timed out,  eu.poolinat0r.com works, but was not sure if i should be in the vrm2 with Dual E5-2670's to mine with..

I switched to the Bloxster pool. Now I am mining happily, no errors, no disconnects…
I haven't heard of it - do you have a link I could check out?

I tried creating an account, but it always goes to a "page cannot be displayed" screen after typing in all the information, tried it thrice and had the same issue crop up. I guess i will have to stick with the existing pool and keep restarting the miner every time rejects start popping up Sad

The link to the pool is on the ANN page mate!

Mining through the Verium Vault App, how long does it currently take to hit a block? I have been mining 5 days straight with an i7-4790 (1000-1200 H/m) and nothing… The estimated block hit within hrs keep on changing between 450-900. I tried pool mining, but nothing. I get that the hashrate is climbing, but currently it is meaningless to mine as I have it.

From what i've read, if you are only doing 1000 -1200 H/m, you are better off using a pool.

thank you,

-D

Yes, I am mining steadily between the pools now, vrm.poolinat0r.com and vrm2.poolinat0r.com. Once my miner experiences this,

Stratum connection timeout
Stratum connection interrupted
stratum_recv_line failed

My share rate drops dramatically, then I need to restart the miner. Now and then there will be downtime and must switch pools.

I'm hitting a lot of these errors, so many so that in effect I cannot leave my PC unattended to mine (due to the need to restart infrequently).

I can't code but I have been researching whether it is possible to create a batch file that will run the cpu-miner .bat, close the mining cmd interface (i.e. kill the task) at a set interval,  and then (re)call the cpuminer .bat.

Does anyone have any insight into doing something like this?

From what I have read it would seem PowerShell may be the best means to achieve this?

These errors also happen to me for a very long time, I do not know such a verium charm and dig it. Generally, I prefer to check out and kining solo: D

winnway this is a very good result, what processors have this computer? I am waiting for 4 days on the block, and I have not extracted any.

Due to the large power of mining networks on the pool gives really bad effects   Huh Huh Undecided

I have an older i75960 on my main computer, and the others are at my house but nothing worth talking about. On the 5960 I've hit 4 blocks but none in the past 2 days (on any computer). On each of the other 2 I've hit 1 and 2 each. Took 4 days on one and 3 and 6 (I think) on the other. Hash rates on the crappy ones are showing 450-750.

Don't know how you are managing to hit any blocks on a single CPU at those hash rates. I haven't hit a block since 06/19 running 24/7 @~1100H/m. Was averaging a block every 5 days. Difficulty has admittedly increased in the interim, but I am quite sure I am now running well under the hash/reward rate even so.

I don't know either, but I was. Last block I hit on that machine was roughly 1 week ago. It's just luck.....I'm in a pool permanently now with all machines routing to it. Not sure what to tell you.

Thanks for the reply ww . I have been on the vrm2pool - for 5 days I think - and have accrued ~1.1 VRM over that period. It looks like it's going to be 45 days or so before I can accrue the minimum 10VRM before withdrawal. I'll have to do do some serious cost-benefit analysis methinks - it may be more efficient for me to just buy VRM on exchange for now.

How do I set max threads (cores)? I understand it is associated with the -t value, just not sure of the parameters of that value.

You can use the "-t X", simply change X with the number of threads you want to use. Let's say you have 8 threads in total, but only want to use 5. Start the miner and add "-t 5" without the " to your miner startup file.

I have setup a new stratum for xu4s and have implemented some stratum changes i was working on in the early pool days. So far a few xu4s are mining there and the feedback was good only so far. If you have some xu4s and want to mine/test the new stratum (its connected to vrm2.poolinat0r.com) please PM me here or send me a message on the slack, i will give you the available ports then.
There are 3 ports for xu4s: two have fixed difficulty and one has vardiff, i think in most cases vardiff should be the best to point your xu4s to, as the vardiff is supporting a little bit lower difficulaty than fixed xu4 port.

Thanks for the info testbug - all seems to be going well. I have allocated 7 of 8 threads to the mining task. 1 thread seems to be sufficient for general internet humbug.

@testbug - If my hashrate is 7000-10000h/m , which port do you recommend i set my miners to on your pool? I really don't know much about fixed diff vs vardiff. Thanks!

I have had some chats with bigger miners, most likely datacentre miners. They said that the fixed port is working great for them. But i think the fixed ports have too high difficulty for your miners, so vardiff 4443 might be best option to go.
As the hashrate increated a lot on the network the last weeks, i am considering about haveing a new vardiff port on vrm.poolinat0r.com. So like on vrm2.poolinat0r.com there would be 2 vardiff ports, one with high difficulty for the datacentre miners and a different port with lower difficulty for "normal" miners. Difficulty would still not be as low as on the vrm2.poolinat0r.com 7103 port.

Hey All,

I have been mining this coin on poolinator with my 8-core AMD FX8320E. Off late, i am getting a load of rejects, not sure why this is happening, i am mining on the slower pool and using the port 7104. Once the rejects started becoming more prominent, i switched over to port 7103, thinking that this was the reason for the rejects! Unfortunately, i am still getting a huge number of rejected shares. Could anyone shed light on what could be going wrong?

I know i don't have a powerful enough processor to mine on the bigger pool, so im not even going to attempt it!

P.S I am mining with 6 threads.

Hi,
there was a problem yesterday with the pool. I cant remmeber the exact time when i was doing some fixings there but today there should be no problem if you mine there.

general vrm2.poolinat0r.com - xu4 port reminder Wink
There is a port designed for xu4s and other single board miners only submitting slow hashrate. There are currently only a few miners on it, so we could need some more testers. Get in touch with me if you want to have the port on bitcointalk.org or on the slack.

I understand bitcoin is falling and it afect to Verium price but really guys you think you can sell Verium idea like reserve of value with value drops of more than 20% in btc in only one day?, i understand is impossible to get a fixed price but the team should care a little about price, this kind of value drops kill the main sense of Verium concept, and scare potential investors, and look about bittrex buy order book 15 btc of buy orders, at moment VRM seems to be unnatended plus the concentred mining power in only 2 pools, it is not good for decentralization, come on i know the VRM team can do much better and show comunity the place this coin deserve to be.

Bitcoin has had a 20% or more drop in one day so I don't understand your comparison. Also Bitcoin is more mature(8+ years), Verium is only a year old. We have 3 major pools and multiple private pools and more coming including p2pool. Network hashrate is steadily increasing going form 1000kH/s to more then 13000kHs in a couple of months. Verium will take time to mature and grow, development continues.
