I'm trying the beta driver 14.6, it's causing Hardware errors on X11 mining whilts I lowered the gpu to 1010 and mem clock to 1250. I tried also intensity 16 didn't resolve also.. Could someone help me out here on my Sapphire R290X ?

Help appreciated..

This topic is a mess, i got a R9 280X, i spend more than 1 hour reading and testing things here and I still do not know if my hashrates are good.

R9 280X:
X11 = 3,1 Mh/s
X13 = 2,5 Mh/s

I wont push my GPU to more than 1040 mhz

OK, guys, sorry to ask such a recap question but I missed some discussion here for some time:
What would be the fastest combination for Gigabyte R9280x cards in terms of kernel/driver/config/sgminer?
Currently I have W7 64bit with 14.6 driver, 4.1 sgminer and getting 2.55 MHs for each card with below.

"worksize" : "256,256,256,256",
"kernel" : "x13mod,x13mod,x13mod,x13mod",
"lookup-gap" : "0,0,0,0",
"thread-concurrency" : "8193,8193,8193,8193",
"shaders" : "0,0,0,0",
"gpu-threads" : "2,2,2,2",
"gpu-engine" : "1090,1090,1090,1090",
"gpu-memclock" : "1500,1500,1500,1500",

"x13mod" means the 31 kB (older) version.
This newer "X13mod" did not compile with some crazy error message (Some function made error at some specific line during compile.)

I can see people reporting 2.7 MHs for the same card. Can you point me to the right files and examples please?

can you post settings
W 8.1 (for 14.6 only)
Just replace .cl files
http://puu.sh/9Bkmt/c7f933e297.7z

I don't know author of this mod, sorry =(

Will this work for 7950's?  I've seen report of all the R9's but no 7900 series card?

Wow I just got these modified kernels for sph_sgminer with 14.6 RC2 I am getting
7.7Mhs combined on X11 with a 280x+7950 which did only 6.1Mhs combined using
14.4 and default kernels in sph_sgminer.
7950 now 3.6 MHs, 280x now 4.1 Mhs.

Rename your x11mod.cl just in case you want to revert to old version.  Ditto for x13mod.cl.
Delete .bin files and restart sgminer ...

Radeon HD 7850
Radeon HD 7700/7800 Series

and i get a hasrate ~2MH

output looks like this

but the pool doesn't show my worker as online. i tried some pools but allways the same result, the app shows my hashrate but the pool shows me as offline.

using cgminer to mine scrypt coins works and the pool shows me as online.

what could be the problem? any hints?

i'm using linux 3.15.1, ati-drivers-14.6_beta1 and i compiled sgimer from source ( https://github.com/lasybear/sph-sgminer_x11mod.git )

I don't always drink...
I still can't get this to run for more than an hour without freezing up my computer.  I have windows 7 pro, 13.12 drivers, gigabyte r9 270, and powercolor r9280x.  I've tried tweaking my settings, but I haven't had any luck.

Try bumping up to 14.6 beta drivers if you can.

This worked for me.  I used the 06162014 updated x11mod.cl and x13mod.cl files put them in the kernel folder and noticed no change in hashrate.  So then I updated to the 14.6 beta AMD drivers from the 13.12 version and immediately started getting x11 above 4.1MH for AMD HD 7970s and R9 280xs.

A very important distinction between the two has to do with power consumption.  Before my two rigs of 4 R9 280s with the 13.12 drivers each consumed about 580 watts and my two rigs of HD 7970 consumed about 690 watts.  Now they are all at about 700 watts.  So an increase of about 25% hashrate for an increase of about 20% of power consumption for the R9 280xs.  Interestingly, there was NO CHANGE in power consumption with the HD 7970s for an increase of over 20% in hashrate.

Very stable running Sapphire HD 7970s at 1050 engine, 1500 memory, 1.117 voltage, Intensity 19, worksize 128
XFX R9280xs at 1000 engine, 1500 memory, 1.117 voltage, Intensity 19, worksize 128.

I don't have a good handle on this subject, but looking through the data in your link it looks like those 22 findings mostly (or all) relate to this being a bitcoin/altcoin miner. Well.... duhh.... that's what it is. One would wish they'd be a bit more descriptive - do they mean to claim that the software is a trojan that will covertly do a portion of the mining for a scammer's account? Or are they just allergic to cryptocurrency mining software in general? Anyone know how this AV stuff works in cases like this?

Totally agree +1.

X13 mining with -k x13modold is working for amd h5xxx and h6xxx Huh??

Cause i can't get it work.....

only HW
Only HW too on 7870
sgminer.exe -k x13mod -w 128 --gpu-powertune 10 --no-submit-stale --thread-concurrency 5120 -X 300
and sgminer.exe -k x13mod (no options) same issue

Thank you, it seems this miner only working on latest powerfull AMD.

GG devs, killing poor miners for getting them out of X13.

I hope X13 will fail.

I'm using AMD R290X's and also having trouble with X13. I've gotten X11 optimized and stable (thanks to this thread) with the latest X11 kernel posted here. But I just got a variety of errors when I tried switching to X13 last night. Looks like I'm not the only one. I'll take another stab at it tonight.

If anyone using X13 has any suggested config tweaks or advice, I'm sure a bunch of us would appreciate it.
