And 4 Gigabyte R9-270 I have yet to get a stable setting for, anything I've tried so far locks up my machine.

I also have 3 r9 270's, and have yet to find the right settings. Usually freezes after 45 minutes to an hour.

Tried setting intensity down to 16, and xintensity down to 51 to 56... Still nothing..

I have a PowerColor 280x and a Gigabyte 270 that I have had running stable for the past 10 hours (fingers crossed).  The second card is my 270.

What catalyst drivers are you using? OS?

I'm using 13.11 on windows 7...
I'm using the same.

I want to try the updated miner, but since it took so long to get this mining without locking up my rig, I decided to let it run as long as I can.

is this darkcoin screen?
I'm mining Nanolite.

New release. No speed updates in this release. Github sources as always here: https://github.com/lasybear/sph-sgminer_x11mod
Changes:
  • Total uptime in first string
  • Gpu sets idle, if all pools dead. Tried to unplug internet cable and gpu set to idle state, clocks dropped. Share your results about this feature.
  • show-coindiff option from cgminer-3.7.2-kalroth added. Description: Option to show coin/network difficulty instead of hash value. --show-coindiff or "show-coindiff" : true, can now be used to show the coin/network difficulty in accepted or rejected messages. This is only relevant for coin switching pools and it is off by default.

Link for windows binaries: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vtj5z5e56jc8wh7/sgminer_x11x13mod_30_05_2014.zip

Thx platinum4 for his ideas, and lasybear for his free miner.

Awesome work everyone! This hashes grrrrreat on my 290 AND on my 5970 in the same rig.
The crappy reference 290 with elpida memory gets 3.600 Mh +- 0.020
The 5970 (my favourite card) gets 2*1.798, pretty much exactly the same as the 290. Goes to show you can still be useful even if you've been replaced by several generations!

If I were to wish for any more features it would be pool naming as in Kalroth's cgminer. With it you can (in the pool section of the config file) use
Code:
		"name" : "coinking X11",
and instead of referring to it as "Pool 0" the miner uses the name. Purely cosmetic but handy.

Three cheers for all you brilliant devs! Thank you!

Thanks so much for this update, improved hashrates on my end but it's taken some trial and error to get things right and I'm still trying to get it working even...

Currently working on getting the x11 side configured and here is what I got....

I have an IceQx HD6950 1GB stable at 1.72 mhs with this config:

{
"pools" : [
   {
      *POOLS*
   }

],
"intensity" : "17",
"xintensity" : "0",
"rawintensity" : "0",
"kernel" : "x11mod",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"thread-concurrency" : "8128",
"shaders" : "0",
"gpu-engine" : "903",
"gpu-fan" : "0-85",
"gpu-memclock" : "1380",
"gpu-powertune" : "10",
"gpu-vddc" : "0.000",
"temp-cutoff" : "87",
"temp-overheat" : "82",
"temp-target" : "74",
"api-listen" : false,
"api-mcast-port" : "4028",
"api-port" : "4028",
"auto-fan" : true,
"auto-gpu" : false,
"expiry" : "120",
"failover-only" : true,
"gpu-threads" : "4",
"log" : "5",
"queue" : "1",
"scan-time" : "60",
"temp-hysteresis" : "3",
"failover-switch-delay" : "60",
"no-pool-disable" : true,
"kernel-path" : "/usr/local/bin"
}

And 4 Gigabyte R9-270 I have yet to get a stable setting for, anything I've tried so far locks up my machine.

Perhaps the pool was down at that time or you have added a backup pool? This sgminer has NO hidden pools.

I'll say it once and only once, from personal experience.

Thread concurrency for Hawaii chipsets (290/290X) should be 14080 not 8192.
You'll be surprised, but thread-concurrency (and lookup gap too) is affected only for scrypt kernels )

ocl.c
Code:
        sprintf(CompilerOptions, "-I \"%s\" -I \"%s\" -I \"%skernel\" -I \".\" -D LOOKUP_GAP=%d -D CONCURRENT_THREADS=%d -D WORKSIZE=%d",
                        opt_kernel_path, sgminer_path, sgminer_path,
                        cgpu->lookup_gap, (unsigned int)cgpu->thread_concurrency, (int)clState->wsize);
Neither x11, nor x13 are not using external definition of CONCURRENT_THREADS.

So tc of 1 vs 999999999 will show no difference with x11?  What about shaders?  Thanks!

only intensity/xintensity/rawintensity does matter.
Threads =
1 << intensity
or
xintensity * shaders
or
rawintensity

Unless I'm mistaking what lasybear is saying here, for x11 it doesn't matter if:

"thread-concurrency" : "8192",
"thread-concurrency" : "99999999",
or you just delete the entire line

It makes no difference for x11

-I 15 than that it's great..why don't us push it to -I 18? No need to flash the bios.
i got the switch . So do you. Wink Position 1 stock bios. Position 2 Stilt bios .
Just. A reboot away. I'm gonna take your advice and try 16 ,17 etc. both positions.Wink

ah ok , didn't know that was called the stilt bios, will test it..thanks.
Sorry for the misunderstanding my bad.
I flashed bios months ago.
I got from the lite coin forum.
Stilt a user on the lite coin forum built bios for all kinds of cards depending on memory chips.etc
He tweaked the memory timings. Etc. specific for 1500 memory
I use his bios for mining. They work.
Script mining I gained 300 kh instantly.
I suspect by the end of the day i'm gonna find that sweet spot.
Sorry for the misunderstanding.
I just name it that. Wink
