This doesn't seem an unreasonable target given the track record of the dev team, the potential market, and what we know of future plans for the platform.

People who invest blindly make me nervous though. I would rather hear that you've done a full day's worth of research or more. That would help you decide how XCP fits in your portfolio and what kinds of things would have to happen for you to liquidate or reduce your position.

Don't worry, I said "blindly follow" but I am a burner, and pushing XCP for months.
It is more a kind of confidence after seeing numerous good calls. By the way, after continuous research and 8 months following this thread, I think he is right :-)

It's possible, XCP is already gaining traction. Once we see a rally on Bitcoin we might see more mainstream interest in cryptos again.

Counterparty supports trading, betting, rock-paper-scissors (fully trustless betting), smart contracts, and many more features. There is no marketplace for goods planned, but it should be possible to integrate it with OpenBazaar. https://openbazaar.org/

My favorite part about scripting smart contracts with Counterparty, Pyethereum, and Serpent:

Not sure if I understood you correctly but https://counterwallet.io/ should do the trick for you. There is a decentralized exchange in place to list/buy/sell your tokens

An alternate way proposed to execute these transactions without bloating the blockchain ledger which is already several gigabytes in size. Counterparty devs have raised security concerns over such an implementation.

Risks to counterparty? Not while sidechains remain unproven and theoretical. Tomorrow if that changes, Counterparty team have shown to be extremely adaptable, as recently demonstrated by the integration of Ethereum programming language on the counterparty platform.

When XCP is donated we "timelock" the funds until May 15, 2015 (which was a date chosen fairly arbitrarily). We wanted to donate and show support for Counterparty, however, we did not want to cash out any of our XCP before it goes up a bit more.

I'll be adding the logos of a few companies built on Counterparty who made donations towards the initial wallet balance.
