Looks like you can buy 1 XCP for ฿0.01 here:

http://btc-market.net/bitcoin/buy-counterparty-xcp.html

That is quite a markup. Shocked

Especially when you can still burn and get a minimum of 10 XCP for that price.

Ah, there's a bug in the develop branch where counterpartyd isn't checking to make sure that the fee is only charged after the protocol was changed to include it. I'll fix that now.

Please do drop a note once you're done with the commit.

I will continue running the develop branch on blockscan if it helps to uncover some of these issues before they make it to the master

Cheers

See commit 5708257caf0a53c77eb5038a1c999c6fa27ecf38.

That sounds good: we need more testing on develop.

Syrenity: what exact error message are you getting?  I'm not a Windows person, but I'll be glad to help if I can.

Deps issue:

C:\counterpartyd_build>c:\Python32\python.exe run.py server
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "C:\counterpartyd_build\dist\counterpartyd\counterpartyd.py", line 22, i

  File "C:\counterpartyd_build\dist\counterpartyd\lib\zeromq.py", line 14, in <
odule>
    import zmq
ImportError: No module named zmq

Please see the docs: http://counterpartyd-build.readthedocs.org/en/latest/BuildingFromSource.html#id1

You will need to install the zmq library as stated there (as this is windows it's independent from running setup.py and a manual installation).

Just checked the blockscan.com assets, and noticed that my test asset is gone?

Any breaking changes that were done lately?

Do you know the transaction ID, issuing address, or the exact asset name?

I upgraded the client to the latest develop branch git and also noticed the reduction in valid assets

One of my test asset have also dissapeared. The corresponding validity field has the remark "insufficient funds" which is was not an issue in the master branch. At the moment I am only displaying assets from  issuances table with the validity of "valid'

Eg: the asset Blockscan

regarding the whitepaper of bitshares - they have, if I understand it correctly bitshares, which back bitassets.

how does the backing system in xcp run?

How does XCP improve on Bitshares (Mastercoin to a lesser degree)? As those are similar concepts. What advantages does XCP have? What are core differences?

Main feature is XCP has features working right now, and everyone else is mostly just talk. I will acknowledge when they release features, but so far MSC only has simple send in 6 months, whereas XCP has its core already developed in less than 1. XCP will also have a client released soon.

Does Counterparty use price feeds or is price discovery solely marked based (like with Bitshares)?

The 'broadcast' function is used to publish price feeds.

Can you elaborate what the 'broadcast' function is? How does it work?

Blockscan.com is lagging

It seems we are at block 282832, but blockscan's last block is on 282821.

Still stuck on 282821

Sorry.. I am rebuilding the database using the version 5 db from the develop branch as this is more accurate. The existing ver.4 DB is picking up Mastercoin transactions .. This is fixed in the latest "develop" branch. The rebuild process is taking a while though. Should be done within the next few hours

Cheers

Rebuild completed for blockscan. Thanks

There is also a client bounty being paid on the 6th I believe, and brite_enclave (I believe this is the correct username) is working on the client.

And this line is also a foreign language to non-tech-savvy investor??

I'm thinking XCP will be one of the most illiquid currencies ever after the burn ends.

Your average person who burnt for XCP has no clue how to move the XCP around.  This means the majority of XCP will be locked in place because it takes a lot of effort to install everything and move XCP from one address to another.

The actual amount of XCP moving around and circulating after the burn will be a small fraction of all the XCP in exsistence.

Stop spreading fud. Its easy moving XCP around. Its a simple command. There is also a client bounty being paid on the 6th I believe, and brite_enclave (I believe this is the correct username) is working on the client.

C:\Python32\python.exe run.py send --from=1xxxx --quantity=xxx --asset=XCP --to=1xxx

The only thing is that you have to reindexing your blockchain one time, and build the XCP database. Reindexing is what takes the most time.

I meant it will be very illiquid for a certain time period after the burn ends (up until a user-friendly gui is released and an exchange is created)
Your average person is not going to touch their XCP at all until it's simplified a bit.

"C:\Python32\python.exe run.py send --from=1xxxx --quantity=xxx --asset=XCP --to=1xxx
The only thing is that you have to reindexing your blockchain one time, and build the XCP database. Reindexing is what takes the most time."

These last two lines are a foreign language to your average, non-tech-savvy investor.
