I think I know what you mean. Few pages ago I wrote a post where I pointed out that I don't understand why we can't separate coin from main feature which is computing. I mentioned there about Golem and @EK in his answer focused only about this one sentence about Golem. I was just trying to troll people who are getting impatient (like me, lol). But you are right - when the product is not some vaporware and is actually getting ready, launching some tradable token prior to the release might be a good idea.

But it's not that important, I think. People often confuse success of a crypto project with "success" of a PnD scheme based on it.
