Good catch!

I personally found that journalism is not what it was a few years ago. Today, most journalists are just scanning through the newsfeeds of other agencies and copy cat their content. How else can you explain that these articles are semantically almost identical: https://techcrunch.com/2016/12/27/how-blockchain-can-create-the-worlds-biggest-supercomputer/
Same SETI@HOME talk, same iEX.ce (do they even exist?) and the same Golem decoder talk!  Roll Eyes

I miss true journalism! Nobody is doing his homework correctly anymore!
Today, the above-average guy must inform himself in forums, WIKIs and other side channels!

EDIT: I still cannot believe how hyped Golem is! I mean, I am still willing to make a public bet that it won't work reliably  Grin

guys, lannister is ek. now stop the trash talk and move on.

Whenever people start talking about BTC here, the climate in this thread drops to point zero. Can we please stop these accusations and the whole BTC talk once for all? Every time this topic comes up, I really think about leaving the thread and continuing to work silently.

Thank you ! Very informative article. Again, only talking about Golem. No talk of Elastic as usual.

we didnt donate those  btcs to lannister... ek must take all of them. What did he do?

We donated to elastic creator ... he is ek. maybe some part of btcs can go foundation for improvments

stop whining plz.

we debated over this for a long time. we only what success of XEL.

ek and other talented devs are working on XEL. that is enough.

Well to cut this short (I am really tired of this BTC talk)  Wink
I, EK, hereby publicly state, that I from now on do not want to get compensated for my work in any form.
The funds were donated for the purpose of finishing the project, which is happening right now with the help of multiple people.
I, personally, am working daily on this project and I will continue to contribute on condition that Lannister keeps any of the BTC that might be left far away from me, and spends them either on hookers or gives them to someone else.

case closed.

and happy hookers to Lannister!  Cool

That depends for good parts on EK and what he wants the community to do or to take.

By the way is anyone tracking the donated funds since Lannister disappearance?

Nobody is since there is no reason to.

Agree, those BTCs were clearly stated as a Donation and not a groundwork for a Foundation or whatever, so Lannister is free to do what he wants with them.

If we see demand for BTCs or XEL for any given task we can fund anything on the spot. But first things first.

Walk through on github didn't work for me. First of, the docker thing is unclear. I had it installed, but it turned out it was a different docker.
afterwards, the 'run docker' just gave me a hash number and nothing more. Docker kept running in the background, I was unable to turn it off other than uninstalling it.

well, after "run docker" gave you a hash number, you could have accessed elastic using your regular browser by visiting "http://127.0.0.1:6876". I will go through the instructions soon and fix any "inaccuracies".

But the currently running version is a "throwaway version" anyway ... the new grammar is almost done and the testnet will be reset afterwards.

Agree, I didnt find the instructions very nix noob friendly when I went through them a few weeks ago.
