Your Alternative Currency

http://www.yacoin.org/

Specifications
No premine
Proof of Work: Scrypt-N SHA-3
Proof of Stake: 0.05 YAC rewarded per coin*year after 30 days
Stake mining: 30 day wait, enabled with checkbox from wallet
Block time: 60 seconds
Block reward: MIN(100, diff ^ 1/6) or variable 0 to 100 based on difficulty
Total coin supply:
Difficulty adjusts every block
Configuration file: yacoin.conf

How it works
YACoin is the original creator of Scrypt-N Proof of Work. YACoin chose a PoW algoritm SHA-3 KECCAK to further distance itself from other coin creation schemes. YACoin uses Proof of Stake to secure itself from pure PoW attacks.

Proof of Stake is an improved version from Peercoin's implementation. YACoin counts PoS blocks with equal weight as PoW blocks.

Do anybody know what is going on in

https://www2.coinmine.pl/yac/

After this nothing credited:    2015-01-12 21:25:17
Pool stat show normal hashing all time but balances stay zero.

On the pool side no any information about any problems. It have worked perfect months and now it still looks all including me hashing normally but no coins.

investigating....

EDIT: should be working right now correctly. All YACs have been credited

Thanks. Nice. Good fast work.

Looks like someone sold a bunch of YAC (about 320k) on Cryptsy.  That's a lot of coin days destroyed.

https://www.cryptsy.com/markets/view/YAC_BTC

Someone wanted out bad! Dropped over 1 million across the exchanges at ridiculous price values. I hope for his sake he was trying to get out of crypto entirely versus jumping on the bitcoin sinking ship. I don't see the point of doing that unless you are desperate. Anyone want to admit to it on here?? ;p

Hi,

When I started wallet (v0.4.4) it is trying to earn interest before wallet is sync (it was not started recently ~ 26000+ blocks to sync), of course mined block is not accepted, but I think stake interest should begin only after wallet is synced. And "Earn interest" is not ticked (I always earned stake interest without to click on "Earn interest"). Best regards.

@aso

No windows release, this is exclusively for other devs to help test and finish the code.
Once complete, I will create a windows exe for general testing.

@old c coder

Great news about the explorer, if you can merge your code to the above and pull to github, I will merge it. Also, yep leveldb is one of the changes Wink

Probably 90% I have been able to compile and run the new version, so should be soon.

I've uploaded the "mostly completed" Yacoin 0.4.5 to github here:  https://github.com/yacoin/yacoin/tree/YAC045

There are still some things to be done before we're ready to go live though. I am VERY pressed for time lately, so if some of the current or former devs can help, it would make things go quicker for sure. I've placed comments of // YACOIN TODO at all the places that need some attention.  Also, I've included a YACTODO.txt file of things that still need to be done.

Old C Coder has also added an amazing feature to the old codebase, an integrated explorer!
https://github.com/ya1-old-c-coder/yacoin/commit/714248203523c7c8ac1c3cef19702c9aba38ba52

It would be great if we could merge that in to the YAC045 code above, but another option might be to release Ron's explorer as 0.4.5 and save everything else for 0.4.6.

Hi Joe,

It doesn't look like there is any conflict/overlap. etc. between my additions to 0.4.4 and your 0.4.5!

Is that really leveldb 1.12 I see sneaking into YACoin?  Grin

YAC/BTC and YAC/USD trading pairs are now on www.crypto-trade.com ! Per usual, I urge you to not keep substantial amounts of coins on any exchange. I am cautiously optimistic with cryptotrade, and it is great to be able to trade directly for USD.

Added to the first post of the thread.

I also want to thank feeleep for adjusting how hashrates are displayed on yac.coinmine.pl. Since not one graphics card out there can break 1 khash/s, it makes more sense to see your hashrate in hash/s. Thanks a lot, feeleep! I encourage anyone using his pool to donate a small percentage as a courtesy.

Being able to see the mining speeds in hash/s is much for useful then in khash/s.  I was having connection issued with yac.m-s-t.org and I've recently switched back to yac.coinmine.pl.  Haven't had any issues since.  Smiley
