Hello everyone,
We have been back up for a couple hours now. We agree this was too long of a downtime and we would provide explanation and steps we have taken to prevent such issues in the future.
The referral bonus campaign remains active.Almost all of our microservices have multiple replicas hosted across different VPS providers all around the world. An exception turned out to be the edge server which was hosted at a single provider. It is only our edge server that is hosted at this provider and historically AnonBet has never had an issue with the provider prior to this occasion. From what our engineering team reports, the VPS suddenly stopped responding to ping requests and SSH requests started getting instantly rejected. Our DevOps team reports that the provider gave no prior notice for their downtime and their support wasn't responsive for over 24 hours until sending a notification that there was an issue with one of their data centers.
It was a mistake on our end to have only one "portal" (edge server) of connectivity. AnonBet has previously considered hosting multiple mirrors and having a separate domain pointing to active mirrors at all times, in case of a server takedown or downtime. Our team has now set this as a priority and it will come to fruition very soon. Your data and funds are nonetheless safe as they are backed up encrypted at multiple different locations.
This is taking a bit too long, tbh. Is there any information about when this issue will be fixed and when your website will be up again?
Sorry for asking, but could this be related in anyway to the introduction of the new referral system?
The referral commission is very generous (10% of whatever the player spends on slots!) which makes me curious about your slots’ rtp!
Do you mind telling us about the rtp of your slot game? sorry if this information has already been shared and I have missed it.
Hi khaled0111,
As mentioned above, this was not at all related to any changes on our end. Still, we have taken the steps to minimize the risk of this happening ever again.
Yes, the referral bonus is only for funds spent at our slot machines as this is what the campaign targets. It took me a while to scroll through the full discussion, but it seems an answer was given as a reply to a comment of yours:
Our main competitive edge is that we are no-KYC with a very quick registration process. We already have people working on designing future promotions with everything considered. Design improvements are our current number one priority. Thank you for the feedback and the suggestions!
Thank you for your response. With more and more casinos enforcing kyc, being a no-kyc casino is definitely a plus. Good ood to know you are working on improving the website design. You have a lot of work to do. Good luck!
Yes, our spins are completely random and the Fruity Loops slots have an RTP of 97.23%. Both Demo and Live environments use the same reels.
Ok, but how can we verify that? Being provably fair means the player can verify the results and the fairness of the game by himself without having to trust the casino.
AnonBet has previously ran a free spin campaign which had to end short because it got exploited in a simple way that was in some way not predicted by the team at that time. It failed to attract nearly as many active customers as intended for the budget and had to be cut short. AnonBet's intent during campaigns is to be at loss in order to demonstate its capabilities and engage more users. This campaign is way more measured than the previous one. Plans are to have it running until at least the end of September. We also offer a demo slots environment to test our slots without risking real funds.
PS: Have in mind that the PR team (communicating here) a month and a half ago has totally been cut off and has been replaced by a smaller team of more tech savvy people who understand what's going on and don't need to blindly copy-paste messages from AnonBet's engineers here.
