Ngayon, nag aaral ako ulit formally as Network Engineer for 1 year (short course, but with diploma), so hopefully maka trabaho ako na related doon. Course work includes MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, A+, etc etc. pero syempre you have to pass those certification exams.
You can actually just buy the books and self-study, pero syempre iba parin kung meron ka high level instructor. Meron din mga computer based training, or videos, meron sa Youtube at ibang websites, or kung magaling ka maghanap, marami mga torrents.
Then just pay and schedule your exams.
Yung Network Engineer course ko is 50 weeks. Meron iba na 33 weeks lang. Depende sa school. Meron din long-distance learning. And meron din mga bootcamp na sinasabi mo, pero usually 1 to 2 weeks lang yan, or 5 days, depende sa topic.
The official Microsoft courses are designed to be done in 5 days, pero alam ko ibang school, ginagawa nila 5 weeks, para magawa mo talaga lahat ng labs, and they also understand na ibang tao kulang sa oras araw araw, so they do 2 to 3 hours lecture per day instead of a full 8 hours in one day. Mga "professional" school kasi, hindi parang regular college lang.
Specifically for CCNA, I would recommend 2 months. Or 60 days. Or 8 weeks. Hanap ka ng videos. Hanap ka ng libro (maraming PDF dyan). Hanap ka ng "practice exams". Gawen mo ang labs. Gamit ka ng simulator o packet tracer. Bili ka ng actual router and switch and play with it.
Then prepare ka mga 2 weeks for the exams. Then take the exams. Pag pumasa, ayos. Pag hindi, retake (and pay again.)
Para sa aken, ang mga target ko so far is: MCSA Windows Server 2012, MCSE Messaging (lalabas na ang Exchange 2016), CCNA R&S, and some non-certificate courses in PowerShell, SCCM and Linux. Then afterwards, saka ko pag isipan kung mag CCNA Security or Data Center, or take other MS exams to get more MCSE certs, or Network+ or Security+, depende na sa kalagayan sa buhay.
You really have to set aside and dedicate time for this, kasi hindi madali. Hindi rin naman mahirap, pero kailangan talaga maintindihan mo at kaya mo gawen ang mga commands all from memory. Kailangan alam mo talaga.
Kailangan meron ka private lab sa bahay, even if you have access to school labs or online labs. Iba parin pag meron ka sarili. Yung private lab mo, lumang server na meron dual processor (na quad core or hexa core), SSD, and at least 24GB to 32GB or 48GB or more of RAM, para makagawa ka ng maraming virtual machines.
Kasi, meron ka nga maraming certs, yung boss mo mag interview parin sayo, tandaan mo yan.
