Bitmain has new firmware for D3. Just in case you n Ed to know this for the new

Firmware mods you tweak.

Yes, the new firmware on 11/20, Blissz should check.

1. fix the issue: some miner's chip status is 'x' after running for several hours or days.

Does the reset button no longer work? Anyone else verify?

Nevermind, it's a very short window of opportunity. 5 minutes after power up is no problem.

Yeah that's just too much man, bitmain must think we have free electricity.  I live in the mountain west and our electric bill averages about 9 cents kWH because of cheap coal, but still 1221 Watts is just too much.

No, bitmain thinks these will be run in datacenters by professional companies. The only miner they designed for home in the last 3 years is the Antminer R4 and it was a disaster. These machines are not meant to be run at home.

Random question. Are the 15ghz D3s actually different from the 19.3 Ghz ones? Will they perform differently with this firmware or using the latest update from Bitmain? Is it possible to get a 15 up to 19.3? I'm just wondering if the new machines are actually permanently any better than the previous ones.

1 batch was 15 ghs
2 batch was 17 ghs
3 batch was 19 ghs
4 batch should be 20 ghs
5 last batch ( deceber ) 21/22 ghs .. this is info from bitmain

I buy fieew machines from 3 batch they are all 19.5 ghs stock 1221 wats

Guys how u miner configuration use ? When i put settings

Global Settings:

My D3 mining arround 15.5 Ghs and take 820 Wats.

Oryginal d3 mining 19.5 ghs and take 1200 wats .. how tu setinds 19 ghs with lowest wats ? .. when i put

Global Settings
550 M

i have much HW and after fiews mins show XxxxxXXxxxxXxxxx on board ! please help

How is the sound? Is it much tolerable now?

Rly impresive u can sleep work like normal pc .. but 15 ghs < 19 ghs ;/ i lost 4 ghs at the moment and les 400 wat .. idk what to thing ..

I think you can get a better performance. Start setting each chain at global and start in your case witht the global setting: 425mhz @ lowest voltage. Now increase the Global frequency untill one chain starts giving HW errors.
Then it's time to fine tune by adjusting each chain. On some you're might able to squeeze out a bit more Mhz and on some chain you mihgt have to increase the voltage a bit to get rid of HW errors.
I hope it's clear what I try to explain, otherwise let me know then I can write a sort of tutorial how to tune it.
Yes...a step by step instructions will be great for novice and for refreshing. Thanks a lot again for your hard work.

So you can't just take a 15ghz machine, flash new firmware and get it up to the speed of newer models?
Well, I have 4 D3s from mid October batch (3rd I guess) and they were all set by default to 537 MHz, which gives just over 19GH. But this was too high for the machines, the temps climbed immediately to 80 deg. C., so I had to lower them to 500 to 519 to get temperatures that do no not exceed 75 deg. C. I don't know whether it is just a marketing ploy by Bitmain or the machines are really different. The best thing for you is to try increasing the frequency and check for HW errors and temperatures. You should anyway not allow the machines to reach 80 deg. C. because one or more of the boards will start failing showing xxxxx.
Good luck!

1) Silent mode: Auto find highest possible freq at lowest voltage and set fan as low as possible (try to keep chip temps below 80 deg)

I like the sound of that Smiley

One feature that would be amazing (I'd pay for it anyway lol) would be if you could set a schedule, like run performance mode 8am-5pm (I.E while people are usually at work) and silent running the rest of the time, that would be awesome.

It's on my list, but I will focus on auto tune first as it will help more people (according the vote Smiley)

Hmmz for some of use the autotune function might be a good idea to implement.

What would  be a good approach do you guys think? I am thinking about 2 modes:

1) Silent mode: Auto find highest possible freq at lowest voltage and set fan as low as possible (try to keep chip temps below 80 deg)

2) Performance mode: Set the desired Hashrate (16 - 20Gh/s) and let the algorithm find the best voltage for each board. Fan will be set at auto

I have flashed the mod in 1 AntD3, but after testing with an Ammeter i have noticed that AMPs has increased:

- Original's Bitmain Firmware: 4.6 AMP |  3 PCB 500MHz

- Blissz moded Firmware: 5.0 AMP | 3 PCB 500Mhz | set at 8 (Voltage)

Isn't it related a higher AMP to a higer power consumption?

Nice. One more thing..do you keep the machine running while flushing it or close. The instruction in the Bitmain site is rather confusing. I have upgraded it before like 2 years ago with S4 but forgot now. Just wanted to find out a step by step approach. Getting old man Smiley Thank you.
