Question to owners:

Which miner is integrated with ASIC? How stable is mining of different Scrypt coins (not LTC)?

www.litecoinpool.org

So my advice is compare with a single coin ltc pool like above and multipool. At
best it may be a draw with your brand of LARGE miner

It's pretty easy to do the math.
Litecoin pool paid out 0.0062025316455696 LTC per Mhs yesterday.  (check the stats: https://www.litecoinpool.org/stats)
Prohashing paid out 0.00003373809333 BTC per Mhs yesterday (after their fees: https://prohashing.com/, not their best or worst day)

Using today's prices of $817.59 per BTC and $3.88 per LTC that equates to
Litecoin Pool paid $0.0240658227848101 per Mh/s x 250Mh/s (L3) = $6.016455696202525
Prohashing paid $0.0275839277256747 per Mh/s x x 250Mh/s (L3) = $6.895981931418675

Both Prohashing and Clevermining generally pay 10-30% more than mining LTC after their fees, the big difference between the two is the fantastic UI that Prohashing have and the ability to be paid out in almost any coin you can imagine and mixed percentages of them too.

Wouldn't it make more sense to get into a hashflare.io lifetime scrypt mining contract? ROI = 250-300 days for the contract and the L3 (including maintenance fees, which you'd have to pay anyways due to 400W pper unit, not to mention downtime)...

Genesis just came out with a 2-yr contract for twice as expensive today. Wonder who's going to buy that. Probably the same suckers like me who went in on their ZEC mining contracts...

EDIT: I backed out of the AliExpress deal - bought some could mining contracts instead. @0.20-0.30kWh it's just not worth it in my area.

Lets review that Hashflare Cloud mining contract:

$8.20 x 250Mhs = $2050 up front for a lifetime 250Mh/s contract.

Maintenance costs are 0.01 x 250 = $2.50 per day

Assuming you can get maintain a return of 0.00003 BTC per Mhs over your first year, you're earning (at today's BTC price) $820 x 250 x 0.00003 = $6.15 per day - $2.50 maintenance = $3.65 per day profit.

$2050 / $3.65 = 561 days ROI, and at that time you will have spent $3452 to have mined 250 x 0.00003 x 561 = 4.2075 BTC

Taking that money now, you could buy $3452/$820 = 4.2097 BTC

As I've only accounted for the 1st years BTC returns (year 2 might average 0.000025 BTC/Mhs in year 2 if you're lucky), I think that given the choice of Cloud versus Buying an L3 and mining at home you'd have been better off with the third option of buying and holding a diverse basket of BTC, LTC, Monero, ZCash, ETH, etc and trading.

There's a few variables that can change this picture a lot, the diff of scrypt coins (which affects your raw mining output), the mined coin to BTC exchange rate (generally rises and falls with fiat BTC price), the BTC price itself and the efficiency/luck of pools you mine.

As a steadfast miner, the difference with buying miners is that a.) once ROI'd the only cost going forward is electricity ($0.075 Kw/h for me), and b.) they generally retain 25% of their purchase price after 3 years so the true ROI is only 75% of the purchase price.

Clueless!
Question to owners:

On a KNC Titan 2 to 3% error rate on multi pools. Thus I mine on www.litecoinpool.org
It does not have ANY errors ever on just a litecoin only pool. It's FREE ..so no 5% fee and
Has 3% bonus. So pays out with no errors or downtime at 103%.

I may shift to a multi pool someday, but not enough reason for me yet

So my advice is compare with a single coin ltc pool like above and multipool. At

The L3 was just suddenly posted on the Bitmain Chinese site, and then noticed that they were all over the place on Alibaba, AliExpress, and even listed on "Deep In The Mines" site here in the US.  So if any announcements were made they were made to the Chinese market only.  I think everyone was surprised when this seemed to come out of nowhere.

For me it was lucky timing as I was just about to start ordering some more A4's.  So I kind of got lucky.  You are right about the A4's.  They appear to be pretty well built and we have not seen hardware failures with those units.  If they can tweak the software to improve the hashing and features they have a solid miner.

If the L3 is reliable, it just about makes the Titan and A4's obsolete.  The efficiency improvements are just too big to ignore.  So if you are a scrypt miner you really don't have much choice and have to upgrade to remain profitable.

The L3 appears to be the game changer that the A4 promised to be early on.  I would love to see Inno come back now with a tweaked, modified A4 that can run at the hash rates they originally talked about in the early announcements of the A4 chip to give Bitmain a run for their money.

I guess we will have to wait and see if that happens.  The current A4 really isn't competitive with the L3 at this point and I believe it should be.  What is holding it back?  Early tests with the A4 chip seemed to indicate low power use and really nice hash rates.  So between chips to the packaging and integration something is lost in translation.  Maybe it will have to come as an A6?

Do we have anyone posting here that has one yet?  I know Deep in the Mines was showing some he was testing before shipping to customers who bought them from him.  I am waiting on mine to arrive on Wed.  I will be testing with Prohashing, and Zpool.ca for sure and will post the results.

I think you are right - DitM justed tested miner

So - waiting to see results of your tests!

Maybe I messed it but was there much before hand press about this new miner or just poof here we go? Does make me sad, I held out on the A4s , then decided to go for it then had a lot of lost mining with troubles ( which I still have on jig yet)  then poof a new magical beast appears. I got a lot of hopes for the A4, been pestering them over the driver have a few ideas, plus they are built pretty good, at least none have thermal pads with paste on them like all the A2 boards I had. Oh well as it goes ..

There is current performance of L3 in real time.
https://www.miningrigrentals.com/rigs/36338/

Looks very unstable, but guy is probalby minning some ubercrapcoin. Eitherway L3 looks nice but given S9 issues and first scrypt miner from Bitmain, i wouldn't trust it. One breakdown a year and you will lose all you gained from electricity.

Not to mention the 11.56 difficulty rise in LTC.....this is getting "interesting' in the worst way.....flat LTC price more or less over the last months....more
scrypt miners out...like toasters................need some price action to compensate in some manner imho

Have not looked but what is it ...difficulty on LTC up over 30% and we have not seen the full push on A4's or L3's yet imho...

glad I waited to buy...again need a pump in price to offset this in scrypt pow and LTC as a specific notion....

And the LTC difficulty just keeps rocketing!

Its fucking depressing.... and this happens because people cant keep their hands off new miners that will NEVER ROI... fucking fools.

I think Bitmain has extended warranties to 180 days.  I am hoping this miner falls under the 180 warranty.  I am sweating the reliability factor from Bitmain.  They have been making real junk in the current generation of miners.

Now is too early tell something bad about L3 because at least it holds the parameters of the specification as opposed to A4 batch1. In addition Inno 45 days of warranty vs Bitmain 90 days.

They could have switched to a serial power design...last time i talked to them their first batch of miners were parallel based design (ie about 4-5 chips per DC-DC power buck) in order to reduce time to market, and they were going to switch to serial later on(string of chips running off 12v like bitmain). If they did that in their new batch they could possibly gain 10-15% in power efficiency.

I spoke directly to Inno today and they told me that they went with the current parallel DC design to avoid burning up the boards during hi-load periods like reboots that happens with Bitmain designs such as S9 (and L3?). They tested the serial DC design as an option and found it too unreliable.

I watched one of Bitcoin Master's recent videos last weekend and was amazed to hear him talking about people burning up $200k of S9's by not properly cooling them.
It seems these Bitmain miners are extremely sensitive to cooling and power supply quality. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-Y0CmZQjoE

As I'm planning to still have my miners running in 3 years, I'll always choose reliability over maximum efficiency or as Benjamin Franklin said “The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.”

Innosilicon dropped their price for Dominator A4. Nice move.
to what? they don't show on site, says "ask us, as we have machines we cant sell" :/
also says "most powerful on market" ya 30mh/s more than L3, at TWICE the power -- misleading much?
ALSO says "atleast 1050w PSU" good luck on that they DRAW 1050 or more -- so misleading.
i wont touch these, they wouldn't try snow us so much IF they cared about this community as more than a paycheck
im still going all L3
1400$
power consuption 800W with overclocked to 300 MH

is there any evidence that the Innosilicon suddenly gained the ability to starting hashing at 300MH and dropped energy usage by ~200W other than a marketing release?

And if they do that I want a credit towards the new more efficient miners we were supposed to receive by preordering.  Grin

Negotiating with bitmain to get first dibs on their batch 2. Price will be cheaper than retail, and main thing is shipping will be cheap since I will get a pallet shipment. Ill pass savings on to you guys if there are enough in the US interested. Only downside is that the whole shipment will be delivered to NY, then I will have to ship each unit out from there to the rest of you (probably 10-20 additional if I ship ground...way better than the 100+ bitmain will charge per unit from china though).

You know bitmain does only 5% off on really large orders ?
something like 250+ machines

exactly

Yes I wouldnt be talking to them unless it was for quantity :p I have a separate project going on, and figured I could help you guys out with price as well between discount and shipping price savings.

How soon to you think this is going to happen?  Any timeline?
