You have to love these S3 miners. They are built really well. I am still using 4 of them in my farm until I get something like an Avalon 6 or better to replace them.

ya must have free power then.... cause right now 4 of them would only get ya $40 a month

well I'm officially done with my S3+ and shut it down, its not profit able anymore, the latest difficulty jump just changed my $25 a month to $10 a month, so its offciially dead now.

all together in my time owning it I probably made around $800 - $900 on it and I bought the unit for $200, so it paid for itself fairly well.

also its the summer time so it will be nice to keep my room cooler not having it running anymore

Yeah I made a large amount with my S3 also. It was very cheap at like $50 and was quiet and the wifi feature was nice. It will sure be missed.

The halving last saturday is the problem to continue with an old S3+ miner. With only 12,5 instead of 25 BTC per block your earnings also goes down 50%.

Do you have your own node? A miner generates less then 5 GB a month, sorry have no exactly counter of traffic for you but its only a few MB / day

Not, not running a node for this reason, but ive got a bandwidth problem regardless its seems. Need to figure out why its happening all of a sudden. Might not be the Antminers fault.

How much data are your guys S3's using in a month with the current block settings ?

I have a something on my network thats using 5GB a day now, and its just a PC and two miners, and the PC isnt the culprit i checked already but not sure how much data the miners are using but it shouldnt be that high, it used to be a couple hundred MB.

Not sure if the stats in the antminer log the total data statistics, seems to only show realtime.

The selling prices on ebay in my area are between 30 and 80Eur  Roll Eyes
Looks to me that the buyers have no idea what the actual halving means...

I still have 6 units antminer S3. When I watch the prices on eBay. I think did not have cost or sense them to run again. postage is so expensive that If i sell them to someone not to retaliate. as well as heating units are already too expensive. Or does anyone have any ideas? next week will go to waste. Grin

Thanx and sorry...I can't see anything wrong here

Without knowing any more than your picture, I'd bet my money that your internet connection isn't working.

Go in System->Network and see if it's receiving/sending anything. Are you using ethernet cable or wifi solution?

ok guys I got my bitminer going I switched it to dhcp with some great help from a friend, and then I was able to go into my router and look at the ip address being used by ethernet one on the back of my modem/router.  I can't believe it was that easy.  If anybody runs into problems trying to setup their miner with Frontier Communications I can help you out.  Thanks for all the replies and sorry for the small posts.

Still surprised people are running these S3 miners.

Brings back good memories.

I refer to the S3's as tanks in a good way.   They really seem to just keep going and going, I hope all my S3's are mining for someone still.  Many of these have had multiple owners and keep moving around.

Also S3's are miners that had personalities some ran better at certain freq then others, so it really got the miner to tweak it.  I have fond memories of tweaking my S3 to S3+'s.
