Interesting effect.  I've been running two S3's in my living room and have two air conditioners running during the day.  The S3's started out at 441GH/s at stock frequency.  At night I shut down the AC and put a fan in the window to  exhaust the heat while the front door is open to a screen door.  So, at night the humidity goes up.  After this the hashrate was lower and HW errors higher.  They did not recover their 441GH/s later when the room was cooled with AC.  I wonder if they used water soluble flux and if it was something less than completely free of impurities.  This would explain the drop in hashrate and increase in HW errors after exposure to humidity.

So new Hashra 2 TH for 875.00 same ship date as s3's.Sept 20

Competion going to finally force bitmain to give a more reasonable price?

As it stand the current s3 price would have been ok if they were in stock and shipping last week.

Not sure this is that much more competitive price wise. First, The 2 TH Hashra would be comparable to roughly 4 AntMiner S3+ Units.

4x S3 x 0.58 BTC = 2.32 BTC = $1160

Considering you can run 3 S3 Antminers off 1 1300w PSU the total price with shipping is about: $1420 TOTAL

The Hashra Unit at 2TH will cost $1275 (it requires (2) 1200w PSUs)

So the savings is roughly $145

However, redundancy is a factor. If the 2TH Hashra goes down, you lose all your Hash.

Second, Bitmain, at least with my orders have always shipped on time.

Hashra states "should ship" by 9/20.

Bitmain states "will ship by 9/20 OR EARLIER"

My vote goes with the Antminer.

Could someone please provide the code to be entered into the scheduled tasks of the gui, that would restart my miner every 6 hours?

We know that Bitmaim owns a farm; so the hardware is already there. As a customer, I hope it will be sent earlier. And, I have hardware from an other manufacturer too, so we will see, and I trust Bitmain, as some of my friends did.

Ohh I have no reason not to trust bitmain. Just they got greedy and started some bad habits in contrast to what was making them stand out before as a great company.  Bitmain before would ship from stock, provide coupons ( discounts ) to loyal customers, and even lower hardware costs as difficulty would go up to at least give its customers a chance to roi.

I am sure you saw the 20% increase last one and the next 20+ increase coming in a few days again.  As it stand now the s3 shipping Sept 20.  is far from what price point/value bitmain has provided in the past.  Also a discount for previous customers is nowhere to be found.

Like I said I am hoping that new competition puts bitmain back on track to how they operated before getting greedy.  This last Hashra announcement to ship Sept 20 is interesting.

BTW, isn't hashra the company that went bankrupt or was extremely bad?  So many companies these days so many scams....  Like I said I loved bitmain, hope they restart some of the practices that made me love the company again.

Bought a ton of Hashlets recently and was thinking of buying some more rigs for the home for winter, looks like will have some better options soon for that, rather stay with bitmain.. but will vote with my wallet for now.  BTW I have 12 s3 units purchased, but can't justify any more with the current drop in btc/usd and a renewed surge in difficulty.

bitmain pleas ship b8 faster !!!the difficulty is raising with the speed of lighnting

By the time the B8's are inhand (or shortly thereafter) difficulty might be ~50 billion (4 more increases at ~20% each). That means they will mine about .00454 BTC or $2.27 USD per day before electricity costs.  OUCH!!!

just curious....what are your electric costs?

Just wanted to add a note that since I finally got my hands on an S3, my M's Ant Monitor now has full support for S3s.

M

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

sending .01 btc your way for your valuable app.  I use it as my main program of choice to watch the ants.  I have 12 and I can't imagine watching each one separately all the time.  I feel it is worth every penny.

If you could add setting the pools on all the ants with user names ( I like to watch each one seperately on pools.) so that if we want to change all ants pools with 1 click that would be cool and worth another .01 btc for me.  And Shutting down all the ants with a click.

Thanks....

I went to use my 3 unused coupons today from the Bitmain Hash speed issue and found out that they expired.

What a crock of crap.

If they dont give me my coupons back or the equal bitcoin I will not purchase their products anymore.

Has anyone else had this happen???

Someone already said it expired last week so I think.

That's BS. Had I realized they were going to expire before I could mine more coin to purchase more I would have opted for the refund in BTC. Bitmain better make this right or I will also go to a competitor. Customer service and delivery times are what set the hardware manufacturers apart.

Dont think youre going to get much sympathy here...

Should I preordered another AntMiner or will it never ROI?
delay in shippment 20/9 and  sky rocket difficulty will further delay your roi. You can't expect bitmain to lower its s3 prices  at these time.

The only way is for the s3 ship within 1 wk or 2 weeks  to speed up the mining .

Always a tough choice. A large facilty or 2, or a new chip comes out that is better and you could easily not ROI. On the other hand, perhaps no new advances happen, and these machines run for months with profitability. I don't think there is a great chance for ROI if you have extra taxes, or high power cost.  If you get the machine in a timely manor, at cost, with low power bills, your chances go up greatly.

Or you could have units that never get past 420 GH/s.

I had the same thing until I added more power or used better PSUs, even going from using a piss-poor 850.  If you have other PUSs handy, it might be worth it to test that and rule it out to be sure.  Other things could be network problems, pool problems, using the same miner, sub-optimal miner difficulty settings, or even the already-noted S3 mining rate instability.  I'm sure you've already ruled out most of those, just throwing them out there anyway...
That's not what I've seen from testing my S3s. I set up and configure every single one of my S3s on our testbench before they get put into production, and every single one is different. We use the same PSU (Rosewill Capstone 750-M), same killawatt, same laptop to set them up, same switch, same internet, etc.

Most of them are running at 238, so that's my basis for all my numbers. Sometimes there are 15W swings in the power consumption, and up to 20GH/s swings in what each Ant settles down for an average speed after 12 hours. Remember, this is all at 238Mhz. Obv moving up to 250 or down to 225 affect the power/speed, but I'm just comparing all my units at the same clock speed, and they're all different.
