for those of you that have requested the refund option, have you received the btc back yet?

Nope, no BTC for me!

No refund yet and no shipping info yet and I've got 2 from batch 1, first day order.  They still have time but it would be nice to have these by the weekend.

Of those of you who have shipping info, had any of you requested the refund?

gotta let a coin be a coin
So I need some help here peoples. I do fly in fly out work with a 3 week on roster. So im going to be away from home when the miners arrive. My girl is home but is absolutely computer illiterate. I have setup the power supply ready for when they arrive with labelling for which cables go where so she can just plug them in. But as far as setting it up goes would i be able to setup the miners remotely with teamviewer with another computer set up at home? Reading about the S1 seems the internet has to be disconnected and then connect the compter directly to the miner. Is this true with the s3 do you think?
Does anyone have any ideas how I could set up the miners remotely?
Thanks Smiley

If you put two NIC's in your PC you can preconfigure one to talk to the miner (with crossover cable) and leave the other one to connect to your network.  Then all she has to do initially is power the miner and plug it into the crossover cable.  You can then remote in and configure it.  If you set the IP as the last bit of configuration, she can then just change the ethernet cable to put it on your main network.

Unfortunately I don't have another network card Sad

Does your computer have wifi and a hardwired NIC you can do the same thing suggested here?

Does your Internet provider not have a 4-5 port switch you can plug the miners and the pc into? If the miners are like the S1s then they'll all have 192.168.1.99 as their address. Could you give us a little more info so we can help you out better? What's your network cabling situation - switch or no, ISP provides some sort of router with a switch or no, pc or mac, how many miners, etc?

Mac network changes - http://www.macworld.com/article/2027960/configuring-your-macs-network-settings.html

Windows - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/change-tcp-ip-settings#1TC=windows-7

Linux - if you had Linux you'd already have this sorted Smiley

If you set static IP settings you'll want to use something like 192.168.1.20 with a netmask of 255.255.255.0. Default gateways are typically 192.168.1.1, but it depends on what the ISP router is set to.

Anyway, get us some more info and we'll get you there unless this has already been answered Smiley

To answer your question would require a bit of knowledge about your home's network.  Are you running a 192.168.1.* system, or are you using something else?  I am guessing (and this is going on Bitmain's usage of that network in the S1 and S2) that the S3 will follow the same pattern and use that type of address.

Assuming that Bitmain continues to use the 192.168.1.* addresses, and your home network is on that same network, then using Teamviewer to setup the miners remotely shouldn't be a big deal at all.

My home network uses 192.168.2.*
Is that configurable? Could I just change the router to assign the DHCP setting to 192.168.1.*?
Absolutely.  Changing your network is usually pretty easy to do in your router's config.

Thanks for the help. Network has been changed to 192.168.1.*
Had to re-cycle all the devices on the network to get them going but were all sweet now  Grin
As was posted above... take some screenshots and print them out.  Show your girl how to handle making the changes to the router in the off chance that the S3s come with a different address range.  This way, you can call her from the road and walk her through the process should it be necessary.  My guess is that Bitmain will stick with the 192.168.1.* range.

Also, make sure you have statically assigned IPs for your current miners so there isn't a conflict.  Do something like 192.168.1.201-210 depending on how may miners you currently have hashing away.

Done and done. I have printed out screenshots with paragraphs of details of what needs doing. Haven't done this much homework in years haha.
Thanks for the help.

So I would imagine in batch 1 there is no point in using 4 pci connections.

no in fact this batch may like under volt and under clock    .  maybe 400gh and 240 watts.

my gut tells me batch 1 will prefer the lower then 441 they claim it will do.

400 gh at 240watts will make roi  in 140 days if diff is 12%

initial numbers were:
390W-504Gh
366W-478Gh
now
340W-441Gh
BTW, the table that i have seen does not have values corresponding to 441Gh
I saw 0.72V for 14.18 Gh/s per chip=453.76GH with 240W power (0.528/Gh). i don't think these chip characteristics can be very different, can they?
What was a point of publishing them then?

In addition-if I don't choose anything (coupon/rebate), then 10% coupon will appear automatically, right?

I red somewhere that we have until July 22(around that date)  to use the refund option. After that you will be stuck with the 10% coupon.

Well  I am waiting for batch 4 to open. Hopefully I can have more info to decide this.

Like the price for batch 4.

the price of a refund     7.7%  x 1.5 = .   1155  btc

what is the coupon worth 10% off batch 4?

or 10 % of .75 the batch 1 price.

or 10% of 1.5 the MOQ

or 10% of all you purchased.

Lastly with any luck my gear will arrive no later the monday the 21st giving me the time to see how it works.

And since some say they get gear on thur the 17th  maybe I will be able to read about under volt - under clock proccedures.

Here is an opinion :

under volt - under clock   will be better then oc of this batch

If it proves that these work nicely at 400gh and 240-270 watts   ..

I want the coupon and I want at least 2 to 4 more.
