Run a Bitcoin node.
Power draw specs and unit dimensions please.

Since they are shipping soon, a photo would be nice (rather than a render).

Whatever happened to upgrade boards for the S2?

You hinted that they would be available sometime in September.

Let me guess - you're not even going to address it.

You're just going to pretend that was never said and screw over your loyal customers.

Did the S1 upgrades get released the same day as the S3's?  Nope.  Patience, they will come.

first off - how the hell is not having an upgrade kit announced yet screwing over customers?

secondly, the S2 runs at 1w/GH, which is still very profitable at this point (despite the fact that 6 months ago most people thought theyd be doorstops by now). There is at least 2-4 more months of utility at 1w/GH and beyond that its quite feasible that the S2 can underclock/undervolt to 0.9W/Gh or less.

Theres no reason to sell an S2 upgracde kit right now because the only people who would buy them would have some way to still run the S2 boards without case/backplane/controller/screen - or just be willing to throw money away by not utilizing 1w/GH hardware

something something Bitcoin
Realistically, and to be competitive it really needs to cost no more than $1400 or 3[btcI

I agree.

actually cheaper  because of some coming out next month that are cheaper then 1400 $ .

Fixed your quotes for you.

Do ou mean the Hashra Moonraker range?

1TH $445
2TH $875
3TH $1295

Due for limited release 20th September?

But they are just multiples of the 1TH machine, and don't have PSU's

Moonrakers are not really comparable. As you mention, PSUs are not included, power consumption is much higher than S3 and probably even more so than S4, and there is a substantial shipping cost (~120 per unit IIRC).

I thought the Hashra's were kind of hungry, on par with an S2 more or less. Don't really see that as competition.

let's hope this will not be another s2 with obvious issues from batch 1.

3BTC is high i think.

if its drawing:
1.0kW -  2.8BTC
1.2kW -  2.6BTC
1.5kW - 2.5BTC

assumes power supply is included

Bitmain, can you tell us the dimensions of this new unit? I'm interested in rack mounting it if possible.

Will it have "ears" for rack mounting, or at least an option? I'm not a big fan of installing shelves to hold boxes like this.

I'm of course interested in the price as well, but I assume you're not going to pre-announce that. However you must already know the dimensions of the box if you're shipping before the end of the month, so hopefully you'll answer my question.

It would be nice if they sent the documents to the author of bfgminer so they could make it work.
For opensource software they sure are not being so open about it..
As it stands now, the community is stepping up.

Watch out for the "Neg-Rep-Dogie-Police".....
Will the firmware in these support p2pool?

Also, Please ensure the firmware contains the latest version of cgminer - no more security vulnerabilities!!!

+1  Cool

why not both CGMiner and BFGMiner some of us like both or one over the other .

If it came with bfgminer I wouldn't buy one  Wink

I would like test it and they send quickly.
I think that it is the best solution for the people that don't have space, only need one miner and don't like a lot of problems with configuration  Wink

Best Regards.
Antuam.

would be nice if they would issue coupons to those who [over]paid for S2.
Interesting to see what will happen. I would prefer the price to be in $$ just like S2.
I already played with S3, so will be looking to selling them off and replacing with S4 and Sp-20 (maybe one of each for starters if it would make sense)
