Yawn. Miners this efficient were available over 8 months ago.

I don't understand why Bitmain would waste time and money updating the S4. What a waste.
Exactly.  Why .  Why.  Why!  Because their new stuff won't be available till mid/end summer.  Bitmain milk it for all you can.  The specs just aren't there.  Should have been sold has kit.  Notice I didn't say uprade kit.

Once again we don't need more miners or even better miners.  We need higher btc prices.

They had the chips available it was easy to do.
This is actually good for miners with 205 volts and low power costs.
If you are not in this group then it is worthless to you.
Like myself you need the s-6 or s-7

I don't understand why this exists as a "new product" given that the S5's are more efficient and economical.

I love you Bitmain....

I also love this product.  I won't be buying it but it delays the s-7 and the s-6 I  am hoping for these to stick around for 2 or 3 months.  Then the s-7 comes out in aug.

This will keep difficulty growing very slowly which is good. At bitmaintech very smart choice for right now.  I am also willing to do a long testing of a demo.   I recently put in not 1 but 2 240 volt  lines.

I would really like to explore the ability to underclock and quiet this machine.  Good product choice.

AT all miners my self included.  We are not seeing .3 watt at the wall gear in the near future.  You smartest move is finding  at least 8 cent power and threading water for a while

Bitmain, any chance you'll release an upgrade kit for existing S4s? Those of us that are using upgraded PSUs could easily swap the old board with the new ones.

Someone wrote in another thread that bitmain can sell individual parts for current miners.
It may be an option to "make" your own upgrade kit.

I do not understand why a return to the old chip, instead of going forward we go back? the price should be much lower, however, and very high, you have created
s5 with noisy fans, and do not even bother to correct the problem to help you, I'm sorry for you, but I've already had a bad experience with you to bitmain, you made me pay 3 shipments x 4 x antminer s5, including 1 s5 was well used, I have not even refunded the cost of your mistake, not even 1 coupon for the next purchase, that will never happen again, because you are only interested in money, and does not meet the customer.

bitmain should send fans of silent to all customers who have purchased s5 with infernal noise

but then again the Chinese by nature and very greedy for money, and with style are born, not made with money lords

No need for prejudice...

Whoa!!!

Just about time that a manufacture released a new product.

This miner is going to be BIG!

Since this uses the same chips as the S3. Can the S3 be downclocked to run at a similar efficiency? 0.58J/GH ?

Also I think this should be put in bold

1. The included PSU cannot be used in countries with a mains power voltage lower than 205V. The PSU will not start below this voltage.

Pretty much has no market in North America then.

Whaaaaaaaat?  Do you know what a TWO POLL BREAKER IS?  220 to 240 volts, depending on your configuration.

With this high price it is not interesting.

The reason why its more expensive then a couple of S5's is because it has the PSU included. And its almost as efficient as an S5.

An 1500W PSU is what? At least $200-250 ?

So price seems about right.

The S4+ is 13.7% less efficient then the S5 if you compare the W/Ghash.

2570 Ghash of S5 miners: $340 / 1155Ghash * 2570Ghash = $756.54

2570 Ghash of the S4+ miner: $946 * 1.137 (Efficiency difference) = $1075.60

Price difference with the Efficiency difference included: $319.06
That is quite an overpriced PSU then, and the extra weight the S4+ has will make shipping more expensive aswell Smiley

So much for a new miner... Hooray!

I think that is a little bit unfair.  It won't be a miner that you would put in your front room sure.

But some home miners are lucky.  I know I am working on a summer mining area.  Pretty much let me start from scratch and do what I wanted.  I will have at least 1 220 in it for fun.

Many could easily add 220 for mining.  Sure it is not as convenient as 110 for many.
