When I first purchased my S5 the hardware errors were very low (circa 100 in 24 hours) and as time has gone by the amount of errors has risen considerably as noted in the attached image. First of all, is that amount normal/safe?
And secondly, I know hardware does degrade over time but I've always kept mine in the 45-60C temperature range so I'm curious to know whether it's common for miners to degrade after a period of say 6 months to a year?

Any help/info on the matter is appreciated Smiley

I guessed right Smiley.  People need to keep in mind timezones.  Once China was awake they set what ever stopped the sales back in motion Smiley.

Honestly I could be better at it.  But looking at other countries times, and holiday's is a smart thing to do if something is wrong.  Just as a general rule.

BATCH 5 SOLD OUT again

Interesting that it already happened.  Maybe we can get lucky and get batch 6 with lower price Smiley.  I can dream at least!

It is very early in China, so if they might just need to look at it if was enough orders and switch back on with new shipping dates.

All just guesses guess we will see.

I would say it was just catching up from International Labor Day.  Now they are back and ready to sell.

get tap and die kit . those kits remove screws but like some one said it destroys the screw and you may need to re tap the hole to a bigger screw depends on how care full you are when you remove it and how bad it was striped in the hole .At least that was what it was called a long a time ago it may have  another name now . i haven't used a kit in a few years .

Finally got it loose.

Any idea when S5 will be available again? Will there be another batch?

Probably only Bitmain can say.

What exactly the deal whit batch 6, its only for bulk buyers?

It was partially for "3rd generation chip BM1384. Due to International Labor Day, no shipping will be arranged from April 30th till May 3rd. April 28 is the last shipping date for bulk buy orders and April 29 is the last shipping date for small orders...."

So I guess we see next if they have something up their sleeve or of they will do another batch.   It could just be they are filling bulk orders from the holiday and catching up.

I was lucky, I got 4 fan Delta  ;DTFC1212DE-SP07 for $ 36 including shipping

thats the fan i got to pair up to the stock fan, it flows alot of air.
the fan i got tho was reversed pwm, so i had to make an adapter.

Sure you get long enough wires??.... the ones on S5's connect to the PCB instead of the HashBoards.
Lot greater travel distance for the wire to connect.
Back then the S1 & S3 fans were interchangeable, the S5 killed that.
The difference is about 2 inches in wire length.
You may need to get your hands dirty or buy the fans directly from Bitmain.
Soldering's no big deal but was kind of stupid to omit the hashboard fan connectors.
Just hope they are long enough, then I'll know what to hunt.

Those 4,000 CFM fans ain't cheap, let alone with enough rope...

the wires were perfect length..
the fan i got use a reverse pwm signal. so instead of 0v full speed, and 5v stop, its 0v stop and 5v full speed..

im not sure if the fans he got are the same.

this was the fan i got

Awesome!  I do have 2 boards to adapt those fans, clusters of 3, I got two because I intended on getting more C1's and upgrade fans/rad.
Day I went to order C1... Sold Out! lol
So I overspent for an S5 but that's fine, better one of those than 5x S1's.  Cool

That's brilliant!!  Been looking for this for ages.... well... in bitcoin mining this means a few weeks.  Grin
Yet again, amazon ain't normally my place to buy computer parts.

Thanks, both of ya's, now I have a plan of attack but it's still kinda cool right now, hottest temperature in the mine is only 35c...
Besides, I'll be putting in an air blower next month but adding a second fan should increase resale value... plus in case the blower fails.

I'm more worried about temperature than I am with the noise.
My Miner's white noise help me sleep at night.

Use the stock fan and just put this on it:

I have used this for several miners and it lets you adjust the speed/sound/temp ratio just fine. Also, tape two of these in a line and put it on top of your miner to quiet it down even further. Make sure it extends past the fans a little bit:
