How long does it take to see your first payment/reward?

Quite a while, some hours.

I think I have it going..

Its showing all the stats running now, the 5 second ghs, 1m GH/s etc.

Now, on the antpool my workers are inactive... Do I have to wait any amount of time before they start showing as active?

Well it was working, then it said ZOMBIE now its showing failed to initialize

Which software are you running? You can find the latest versions here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/guide-dogies-comprehensive-bitmain-antminer-u3-setup-hd-879732

Antpool is quite slow to update.

USB 2.0 .. No Hubs.

Please put the U3 on a powered USB hub, as there is quite a bit of draw from the USB interface.

I just got an Antminer U3

I have it all hooked up, installed the driver just like this states

SETUP INSTRUCTIONS
1. Install driver
2. Plug power brick into AntMiner U3 before plugging power brick into wall
3. Plug power brick into wall
4. Connect USB cable from AntMiner U3 to computer
5. Open Zadig and click "Options -> List All Devices"
6. Select CP2102 USB to UART Bridge Controller, and then click "Install Driver"
7. Run cgminer with the following parameters (remember to replace "-o XXX -u XXX -p XXX" with your own information):

cgminer.exe --bmsc-options 115200:0.65 -o XXX -u XXX -p XXX --bmsc-voltage 0800 --bmsc-freq 1306

When I run the miner, it says "Bitmain Detect failed to initialize -- Incorrect Device?"

What am I doing wrong?

Any other USB miners on the system? What type of USB port are you using (2.0/3.0 etc)? Are you using a powered USB hub?

ImCrazyOne  nice idea about connecting miner to PC directly.
A simple molex, I like it (sent a tip Smiley  )
Much better than the board - to 6 pin - to barrel I had set up.

Yes its very convinient, i have one miner sitting in every computer in my house even the HTPC that is connected to TV. So when i watch a movie or just use computer i know that i am also mining bitcoins. CGwatcher is a great tool to have it automate everything. Thank you for the tip kcal63.

I have 2 U3's it running on my PC, getting 60+ with a PC PSU, want to move it to a Pi so I can run it 24/7.
Occasional zombie's, but it seems to happen on my slow ION system, but not on my i7 system, probably some USB timing problem.

What RaspberryPi OS-all-in-one-miner-monitor would you recommend for the U3?

Any of them, MinePeon, Minera etc.

Ok, thx, trying out Minera.
Any quick hints on how to update cgminer to the latest version when using Minera?

Any what CGminer is your Minera running?
It is running CGminer 4.8 and i compiled it with --enable-icarus

Hmm :/ Got another power brick to test with? That's a reasonably strong bet.

No i have just the one it comes with Sad Any other options?

Not really, need additional parts to test what you have. Else you can RMA.

I have it now running on a 500W ATX. I'm getting now 56GH/s but only a few times it is more likely to run at 43GH/s..... Anything more i can try?

Email in for an RMA, but the fact it did get a higher speed suggests its more likely to be something locally.
