You can say it again, I don't think they are making that much anyway, most of the raised money figures are pure lies to snare unsuspecting investors. That said can someone show me how to set up one? I am writing an article about how easy it is to scam with an ICO on bitcointalk.

I think ICO is (was) a very good idea for start-ups to reach investors, those who got rich in the first waves of BTC development need place to grow their money.
But then it quickly is abused and became a tool to get easy money with whatever projects.
So I'm sitting and waiting to see the bubble bust one day.

My dear, do you think that everybody here are such idiots and do not understand all risks of investment in an ICO? I think everybody decide for himself what to do, but you see, firstly the ICO gives us a job, such as commenting in their threads, every comment is payed. The second thing it's not 99% scam, there are many perspective projects just an individual hast to have a bit of logic, knowledge and his own head to separate the wheat from the chaff.

well before joining an ICO you should do some research first and decide is it trustworthy or not
find the news about the ICO in many sites,if it's look promising,i'm sure you can gain profit from them
or
be a small player and just join the bounty,dont invest your money at all

High risk - high profit. and if you try to compare normal crowdfunding, VC seed funding, IPO with ICO, there are much more benefits going through ICO than other types of capital raise. ICO name should be changed because of negative stigma around it, but token inital offering, coin crowdsale etc is pretty much the same.

God be my witness that I haven't invested in any ICO to get burned and come here to complain by creating this thread.
Usually successful companies with actual and physical product launch something similar to these ICOs here.
But in crypto people just by being online, create a website and a few pages of texts and then announce their ICO.
But how many do we really need?
Alarming part being, they only launch an ICO in order to then later develop a product for it, while it should be the other way, first develop a product and prove you can make money and show there is a demand for your product and then launch your coin.

Yes, only invest an amount of money you can afford to loose. Do due diligence and check team/escrow/roadmap/etc. And if you are confident on the project; don't sell too soon, typically there is a dump right after token release.

Wings is not traded yet, except some IOU on Liqui. Real price is still to be seen, although it could go even higher then current IOU price.

I agree with you, and all of instrument investments always there are risk losing money include investments on ICO
unfortunately the peoples who were losing money because of investments in ICO, they blame the ICO
should before investing on ICO we must choose the ICO carefully.
