I chose to support it because it was the lesser evil of what was available.
I WANTED to keep supporting crypto and stay involved.
But don't forget i started when there was about 50 coins.
When i started supporting JPC there hardcore massive SCRYPT cloning going on and ALL OF YOU loudly supporting it.
NOW.. you all moved to supporting mass ICO's.

I went down with the ship.
I suspect the dev ripped of the coin users with hack then dumped them on exchanges.
What did i do ?
I held my coins.. I STILL HAVE THEM NOW !

I had to come to the conclusion that things changed in crypto.
Trends were obvious.. this shit was getting nasty !
I had to CHOOSE to close my wallet.

I think you just have to be selective when it comes to an ICO. Sometimes it is better to let it hit the markets than invest in the ICO. Either way, there is always profit to be made.

There are many ICO everyday, we are one who will decide if we are about to get attached to it or not. We are the one who is in control in our money. Yes there are so many alt coins out there but dev are just making we are the ones who are investing, we will be scamed if and only if we are not be able to research for it, if it is be legit or not.

I agree but if you check the altcoin announcement sections,there's new ico almost everyday I think they are coming from the same dev who are just repeating their previous success,and they are not going to stop unless not even one is investing.

I think throwing money at ICO's for projects that you believe in the most would be a safer bet than buying up all these alts on Polo right now, due to the the price manipulation of most of them. It's safer because the coins for the ICO's aren't being bought and sold on the free-market yet. Yes, there's a bubble and I hate it - just pop already dammit. I had the opportunity to ride the ETH wave the past few months fortunately.

ICO's could potentially be legit if they had a proper structuring and were regulated but they are NOT.

OP is probably just pissed off for something, ICO`s are gambling you can make a big profit, but there is always a risk of losing investment. There is a lot of scam coins and its hard to make good investment every time, but everything is risky this days.

I find it stupid either even when I didn't participate on any ICO but this forum gets so much activity due to all these ICO. The more ICO, the more users are participating on. It doesn't even matter whether they are good developers so long as they can pump the coin, they can earn money.

ICO is not a gamble it is just high rish investment with potential high returns.

Look at people who have invested in ethereum.

When you gamble in a casino you have more probability to loss than to win, it's called house edge, however with ICO you are in unknown place.

The most important things to check in ICO are :

1/Is the idea disruptive?

2/Is this a scam?

3/Are the devs telented?

If these 3 points are good then the ICo is worth investing, however it is often complicated to be sure it is not a scam.

Lot of ICO are scam but not all of them.

Don't be so harsh about it man, we all know that most of the ICO's are total scam but there are still that are legit existing.

I do agree with you.  This had been a practiced even in non-crypto related project.  If you search the internet about crowdfunding, you can see lots of project asking for donations and pledges for these developers to start and finish their project.  It is quite different in crypto community since participating people accept a kind of token that they can sell or trade for profit.  Others out there does not even offer anything nor give an option to the donators to at least profit from donations.

You said that ICO was a scam attempt. we all know that they are doing this for funds. having no funds in their project will be likely to fail it. ICO is the way for the coin developers to gain funds if they dont have financer.
