I can control voltage in AB. Only difference is that i don't have SoftPowerPlayTable mod, cause that shit was crashing my system.
I had to reinstall blockchain drivers in order to get power limit slider working.. i could only set -1 0 +1 %.

so you have stock bios no flash correct?

blockchain drivers
msi ab.

which vega
what is  hashrate for xmr
what power draw for xmr

V56 stock bios, but use the custom power play table for undervolt, 1850-1910h/s depending on mem OC, 900-925mv core, 130-135w per gpu at the wall (one guy said as low as 110w using a slight core OC, I have yet to try that)

Have fun Wink

How much hashrate produces vega 64 with HSR? the Nvidia 1080ti make about 22mhs, and vega 56? thank you .
HSR is not memory-hyper-intensive algo, so don't expect better then 1080ti results from Vega ...

Understand thanks , and which is best coin/algo for amd vega ? power comsuption ? .

I managed to make the new Afterburner working with V56 stock BIOS.
I applied -100mV, -20 PL, 1477Mhz (I believe this is the max P7 state).
With the automatic fan control the sound is much less and the card is 61-62 degrees during Monero mining.
The frequency and vcore are jumping around. For same frequency 1474 Mhz(P5) I can see vcore 878-1018mV.
Can't understand it so far. I have no idea how to measure the consumption as i don't have device and I'm not familiar with software about it.
In any case less fan speed=less temperature=less heat=less power consumption. Correct?

You will need your card work at 820mV with ~1200/1100 clocks to get low wattage with ETH. Read the thread - all was discussed already.

Sobfar I've tried mining both ethereum and no ero and finding better profit in Monero same as most people.

Rig setup is 4x Vega 64 on windows 10

Ethereum best results 38.5mhs @ 1200core/1100mem/power-20%/templimit60 u
Using latest AMD drivers pulling 750W from wall. I find one card is always buggy tho and has to run slower than the other 3 so 1200/1085/-10%power. It's not the card however as I've swapped them around and it's a different card each time I reset the system

Monero beat results are 1850hs dipping to 1650hs after one hour cant get the speeds to remain at the higher speeds.
Using 1200core/1020mem/-5/7%power/ temp to 62
That's using blockchain drivers and 2 threads per GPU.

I've found for ethereum the standard drivers are.much better for the cards and profit margins, blockchain drivers on ethereum result in 1100W+ power draw for an extra 2-3mh per card. And the cards run much harder on the BC drivers.

For monero though blockchain drivers are defo the was to go.

Gonna try zcash out next day or two to see the results

If you feel comfortable doing it, the softpowertable mod that's discussed in this thread will allow you to have more control of voltages on the blockchain driver. Sustained 1900+ hash per card at 130-150 watts on monero is outlined a few pages back.
As well as 44.2mhs ETH (main blockchain) @ 150 watt

What is your power consumption from wall?
I seen some videos where they say 130w but from wall is 400w, so i dont belive in that numbers.

Does anybody run 5 or 6 x Vega 56? is it true the maximum is only 4?

you can enable HBCC only on 4 Vegas at once in one rig. i have 6 vegas in one rig, but i can only active hbcc on 4.

I manage 2 mining rigs, with 5 Vega 56's on each of them. Mining with Xmr-Stak-Amd runs smoothly and very stable. According to the pool the average hashing power in the past 24 hours of 1 rig was 9,65 KH and the other 9,62 KH. According to Xmr-Stak-Amd the hashing rate is somehow lower at 8.9-9.0 kh for each mining rig.

They both have the same settings mentioned in this thread (gpu @ -30, memory at 950, fanspeed at 3500, powerlimit at -20% total power consumption of ~970 watt per rig, hbbc at maximum and virtual memory @ 64 gb.) I haven't changed the voltage.

Both mining rigs have only 8 gb ddr4. The HBBC-slider is visible, but only allows to increase the  HBBC-memory from 11600 to 11773 mb. On 1 of the 2 mining rigs, i can't adjust the HBBC-slider for the 5th gpu. The other 4 gpu's are adjustable. On the other mining rig all 5 gpu's seem to be able to get the hbbc-slider adjusted, although Wattman might give a false impression, i don't know, and i don't think this gives a significant boost. With 16 gb of ram you can increase the HBBC-memory to 14000-15000. I have ordered additional ram, which should arrive this week.

I would also like to mention that I didn't had to use a hdmi-dongle or something like that to get 9,62-9,65kh. After closing the monitor, the hashing rate doesn't seem affected.

900 mv both sides voltage, -40 power limit.  Apply run it, set your clocks 1100 either side and apply then raise power level and it should gain performance without much power draw above the minimum.   Theres some strange voodoo in the sequence, but generally that works out and some can get it 15% higher then that still with more draw out method but it will become increasingly fragile also.  I'm not sure if method or results varys by the coin being mined at all

I bought a Vega x64, mostly for gaming, but thinking I could do some mining too... I have no idea what I'm doing, been on the ETH/DCR but now folks are saying ETH is not profitable. Are there any quick guides for how to use this card effectively?
ETH+DCR or ETH+LBC is ok for Vega, rather profitable - but you will need to downvolt/downclock to save power and avoid overheat

Ditto,
working for Vega 64 without registry edit, and not working for Founders Edition.  Both are do have the power limit slider, was just about to mess with it.

Well, I installed Afterburner Beta 19 to my rig with Vegas, win10 blokchain drivers and custom SoftPowerPlayTable in the registry and I have voltage control bar inactive. I tried to enable it in AB settings but with no effect.
Has someone enabled voltage control in AB with blockchain drivers?
i have it unlocked but no played with it.try delete files inside AB settings folder (/profiles)

I actually thought I read someone else say they tried stock V56 bios with the V64 power play table and it worked for them before I initially tried it and I didn't realize there was any risk! guess I got lucky that I didn't brick my 2 cards and that it works so well. I am trying a power play table specifically for V56 now to see if anything is different results wise

Interesting, first time I played with powertables I get the opposite: tried one for Vega56 in my 56 with 64bios and totally crashed on windows start. Now with vega64 powertable only crash sometimes Grin.
My best hrate/power is about 1800 about 140w. 1267core 1050mem, voltage set to manual.
How much vega 56 in your country ? and is available ? .
It cost me 436€ shipping included on launch promo. Still available in many shops here but cheapest place I found in europe at this moment is 519,95€.Just check big retailers frequently, Im sure they will be on promo again soon.

Edit: just saw this.Afterburner adds full support for Vega OC and voltage control.this is getting interesting Grin

softplay is better, afterburner fail

I didn't have any luck with softplay mod, just kept getting black screen.  New AB works for me, saves me about 45watts.  Doesn't seem to work for FE edition however.

Can you share this power play table for V56 so we can try it also?

So on my stock bios V56's.. I tried the v56 power play table instead of the v64 one i was using... and It didn't work well- I couldn't get any undervolt to work!

here is the way I got it: https://1drv.ms/x/s!AsrdFd4FVQj_hVPlABJFy7RtFcvV

it's an MS Excel spreadsheet you can customize your table and then it outputs the power play table reg file for you.. Please let me know if anyone gets an undervolt working using any V56 powerplay table

Strange the title inside is also V64. I will test when I have time. Let's see if afterburner will work.

Care to share link?

Sorry, I didn't test prebuilt binaries from Github so I won't share ...
My own built binaries are without  dev fee so it will be not fare to redistribute

Can you show a printscreen about hashrate pls?
