There is no difference across manufacturers at present, there is one factor you can look out for which is the revision number in the top right corner of GPU-z.   I think people were saying the liquid cooled cards did not have the best revision at least on launch day, maybe they were graded as not suitable for Frontier.   I forget the exact detail but thats the only real variation I've heard of being important.

only thing is the HBCC reset that is causing some...problems.  lose power, reset.  anyone have any ideas for that ?

To reset the driver only requires to log out I believe.   Its possible this could be a scripted process when a miner exits from stalled hash rate maybe

As far I understand then 4 x Vega56 are max per rig? Otherwise it wont work at all or wont work stable.

Is there some difference from manufacturers also - what would you suggest? Gigabyte, Sapphire or MSI ?

Is anyone successfully running 3+ V56 for extended periods of time? Using the usual settings I was easily able to get around 1800 H/s running on 3x V56 for a couple days with no issues. Got the fourth board setup and although it worked well enough at first the rig crashed after about 14 hours. Have it running again now with slightly lower memory clocks. If that doesn't work I'll probably try messing around with HBCC amount. Anyone else having stability issues with many GPUs?

If you give me (PM) all of your configs I will try on my 6 card vega 56 rig.

I am familiar with the polaris mining and bios editing scene, but new to the Vega scene. Couple questions:

How does vega 64 compared to 56 for cryptonight (monero) mining? (hashrate and power consumption)

Also, is it possible to edit the bios (mem strap timings) of vega, similar to polaris, to increase cryptonight hashrates?

Well, Im guessing your fan speed/temperatures is too low/too hot.  Maybe lower the HBCC value a bit.  see what makes it stable.  Sometimes I just have to re-enable HBCC after a while, then its good to go until the next power outage Sad

Guys, not sure if my experience is related to HBCC. But I can't seem to sustain >1900 beyond 18-24 hours. Then I drop to ~1600 and seem to stay there over the long haul. Any tricks to keeping a consistent >1900?

Well things are going great for VEGA, only thing is the HBCC reset that is causing some...problems.  lose power, reset.  anyone have any ideas for that ?  Im not sure if that is a feature or a bug from AMD.  how do you guys manage your hbcc resets ?

anyone got vega running on a linux machine?
I was discussing this elsewhere and my impression was Vega wont be fully supported on the Linux side till January which is a bit disappointing.   If you know what you are doing maybe it can be pieced together before then and isnt the bios flash enforcement done via drivers so Linux will be superior to windows eventually.  Latest drivers stop the 64 to 56 flash ?  Right now its far less hassle to just stick with the evil empire, at least for me it is.   Im surprised if there are vast farms of vegas because it doesnt it cost alot more to buy

I have no idea how some reach 43.5mhs. I tried the steps listed on the reddit page, overclocked it to 1100mhz but I still get 37mhs.

every single time I try to set 900mhz as core clock, it adjusts itself to 902mhz. I have to enter it twice for it to be at 900mhz exactly.

It's UBIQ, not ETH probably. I'm getting 44.1 <:
no problem with ETH (high dag) 44.2mhs with blockchain drivers

anyone got vega running on a linux machine?

AMD drivers 17.30 currently support vega but with no OpenCL support atm. ROCm drivers don't recognize it. I've opened a ticket with AMD and posted it in their official support forums and they've been ignoring it. Even with a fully supported Linux driver, AFAIK it's not possible to make that Softmod like it's done in Windows. Guess we'll still have to flash the BIOS.
With linux and patched kernel you can load modded bios - this is even better then softpowerplay hack

The blockchain drivers AMD released, have they updated them at all since or is it still the same BETA drivers that were available in August?

On the .REG file...

50% Power Level:
00,48,00,00,00,80,A9,03,00,F0,49,02,00,32,00,08,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00\

0% Power Level:
00,48,00,00,00,80,A9,03,00,F0,49,02,00,00,00,08,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00\

But how to set a negative value?!

My take on a -50% would be:
00,48,00,00,00,80,A9,03,00,F0,49,02,08,32,00,08,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00\

Does this make any sense?

32,00 = -50 to +50
00,00 = 0 to 0
14,00 = -20 to +20

etc

solved. but unstable 1400mhz@900mV. need 910mV is it shit silicon?  Cry
It depends on the algo and silicon lottery.
For claymore dualmining eth+lbc you will even need 950-975mV to be stable @ 1408mhz ((

but,my vega's VDDC much higher than yours.Why?Huh I had set VCore 900mV,GPU-Z show 1.00V.
