Flashed all cards back to original bios....
There's something funny going on with wattman.

I have a 1920 threadripper with 12 cores and hashing with 11 (1 core to keep system responsive)
I have Large Page Supoort Enabled and hash at around 90 per core = ~1000

Wattman settings for the vega56's    945 mem / -30 core  - 20 power
(Got it to mine at 1080 mem once with one card at 1.000 volt mem and it hashed nearly 2000 ?!?! then it crashed after 15 secs.)

if i turn on HBCC it does mines at 900+880 = ~ 1780 per card
Stak settings 1522+1512
The card with the monitor attached is set to 900 mem to keep things stable...

All nice and well , rig is hashing around ~7500 with threadripper and 4 x vega 56's @ ~950 watts.

Point is, when i reboot cards hash @ around 550+550 = 1100. And everything in wattman looks the same.
But for some reason HBCC has changed and doesnt show any  changes  in wattman.
Settings look exactly as before rebooting.

If i adjust the slider , (any way) , it starts hashing @ 900 + 880 again.

So wattman does not correctly set HBCC by itself after reboot, and have to set is for all 4 cards again each time.

 i  have 32gb quad channel mem and 70.0000 swap file on fast NVME SSD.

First have to start stak cpu and then stak gpu , otherway around it bugs / hangs...

Any tips and tricks ?

So, with 17.9.3 drivers MSI Afterburner can control voltage? Interesting ))

Guys im totally lost with this powertables .reg stuff, maybe some charitable soul can clarify me  Grin

Currently I have 1xvega56 with vega64 air bios, blockchain drivers, mem 1055 core 1142(-30 on wattman,if i try to set lower on manual mode memory gets throtteled to like 800) getting +-1500 stable on xmr.
Here comes my question: Can I apply vega64 .reg on my vega56 with 64bios or must I apply one for vega56? I never did some like that and im afraid to toast something
Thanks in advise friends.

Some info maybe usefull for you radeon experts Cheesy.This morning radeon settings poped up with and update(not sure if this shit goes glitched and updated me to regular NoBlockchain radeon drivers), I tryied and performance was drastically reduced(arround 500 on xmr).Here comes the big news: I fast checked with gpu-z and VOLTAGE CONTROL WORKS IN AFTERBURNER but 0 profitable I guess with this loss of performance.

And just freetalk:That hbcc stuff is totally glitched, sometimes its set off and I have 1500, sometimes 1200->turn on and get 1500 and sometimes I have to turn it off to get best performance. Cant see anything logical from my point of view

Guys, never run your card at stock settings especially if you flash liquid bios.
Liquid bios is just a good start point for the mod.
Read hellm's and other guides here with explanation how to make downvolt/downclock. Don't apply any patches if you don't understand what you are doing ...
If you need ready solution with support I'm willing to help but not for free ...

that is right. I usually under volt to make the card last longer.

Guys

Are you entering values on the core(in wattman) on both P6 and P7 or only P7 with it set at min and max combined ?

thanks

I have no idea how some reach 43.5mhs. I tried the steps listed on the reddit page, overclocked it to 1100mhz but I still get 37mhs.

every single time I try to set 900mhz as core clock, it adjusts itself to 902mhz. I have to enter it twice for it to be at 900mhz exactly.

flash your Vega56 with Vega64 liquid bios + apply reg patch. You'll be able to run mem 1100mhz
[/quote]

Flashed a : Sapphire.RXVega64.8176.170719.rom in all 4 cards.

Mem does reach 1000 , but power draw is huge (psu overload)
Did reach 900+900 = ~1800 on -20power -30 core
From 875 watts total with 4 cards to 950 with only three cards.... idle system uses 270 watts.
Per card from 150 => 230 watts
Had to reinstall the driver cause of crash, PITA that it auto enables crossfire on all 4 cards (initialising takes ages...) before it can be switched off..
Did make a reg patch with the xcel tool but the havent reaaly dug into the voltages yet, so maybe not the best patch i have...
Couldn't really continue cause card with monitor seems highly unstable , even at second (vega56) backup bios ... hope card is still ok. will flash it back to standard bios and leave it be as it was originally.

Any reg patch file you can send / point me to / recommend for the other 3 cards with lowest power draw ?

(i need to get this rig to work with 1200 psu...)

thanks !

I've been lurking for a while and tweaking the vega 56 I managed to pick up. Seems one of the main things we're missing is a way to set the hbm slider without having to use the amd software, since it likes to reset itself whenever it feels like, and it's quite a large hashrate gain (about 400 it seems). Anyone have any idea how this could be done?

6. (optional) Apply reg patch if you want to lower power consumption. For monitor attached card you will need much higher voltage.

@rednoW thanks so much for your help!  Which reg patch are you referring to for 56 flashed with liquid bios?  I am running the MorePower56 from Hellm but it sounded like this one would make power consumption worse. Is there another reg file somewhere with lower power settings?

Take hellm's Vega64 liquid (AIO) reg file and adjust it for your needs.

Someone is paying attention:
https://github.com/halsafar/Vega64SoftPowerTableEditor

Looks like it is in early stages but the basics are done.  I will give it a test, compare the output to see if it matches our custom known mods to the soft power table.

I found this part to be particularly funny :]  "No Thanks

Hahha ya, saw that. Rednow...

 Grin I've tried to disable HBCC... and now mining at 1900 H/s Smiley that's magic?

I've got a Vega 56 with Airblow cooler from Gigabyte, after SoftPowerPlayTable mod and same settings as below on win10 with blockchain driver, I can reach only 1350 h/s at 150W with xmr-stak but aftersome time it drop at 1160h/s.
Cannot get more, probably because lack of ram? I've got only 4gb ram, but i'm running a mixed system with also 5 Nvidia that mining well.
Any advice?

...
Wattman Settings (Blockchain Beta driver):
-30% GPU Frequency;
950 HBM Frequency;
Fans at 3500 - MAX (Ignore core thermals. What you need is to have the memory below 70º to keep the high hash rate. An undervolted gpu will be fresh enough to not auto raise the blower speed, hence not cooling the memory. At 25ºC ambient temperature I needed 3500RPM set at min speed);
Power Limit -20%.

Globaldrive settings (Blockchain Beta driver):
Crossfire disabled;

@rednoW

Thanks for the info , didnt really help though.

1. Set you Virtual memory size to 64gb ... >>> done
2. Use blockchain 23Aug drivers...  >>>yep
3. Move HBCC slider to some new position or just switch it off / on depending on your current setting. Hit apply >>> All @ 170040mb
4. Set your HBM2 mem speed to 1100 ?!??!?!?

Its a vega 56 not 64 as i understand 56 has lower clocks (but better timings ? @ 920).... anything over 950 result in a crash
920 seems stable, 950 stability depends on STAK settings

5. Run xmr-stak-amd with 2 threads and intensities 2016 and 1800. Maybe decrease intensity for monitor attached card.

2016 / 1600 works ... 1800 crashes...  had it upto 800 once now it's between 600 and 700 no matter what i try it wont go higher

6. (optional) Apply reg patch if you want to lower power consumption. For monitor attached card you will need much higher voltage.
Is the reg patch also working for vega56 (thought is is for 64) but first need to try to get things stable i guess...

P.S. Don't use GPU-Z. For monitoring use latest HWINFO64 with GPU I2C support disabled in settings >>> ok , thanks Both seem to work though

flash your Vega56 with Vega64 liquid bios + apply reg patch. You'll be able to run mem 1100mhz
