around 28-30 mh/s on ethereum. most likely to be a clone of the 1080. not the ti.

1080ti = 36mh/s
vega = 28-30mh/s

1080ti > vega

Is this for vega frontier edition or vega gaming edition?

The DAG epoch issue: it seems AMD fixed it for Vega in drivers, nothing for polaris yet

Don't expect they will, they want to sell/make their vega gpu a success on sales, so they will not fix anything on polaris, they can if they want but why would they? they want you stupid miners to buy their Vega gpu hehe

Vega is shit for mining. Memory isn't quick enough to be in line with its price.

Great gamer card though, heavy shaders are going to love all that brute force.

But the 1080 only manages mid-20s on ETH - the latency of the GDDR5X used in both the 1080 and the 1080ti seems to hamper them some on ETH mining.
The GTX 1070 manages around 30 - but are you going to call Vega the equal of a GTX 1070 based on ONE specific narrow application?

Can confirm this issue is on vega as well.

Block 3M = 34 MH
Block 4M = 29 MH
Block 5M = 22 MH

Funny will be amd releasing the fix for vega cards miners and leave polaris owners on dark, i wonder what kind explanation amd will give but I think amd already fixed vega gaming drivers before launch, so amd can say veqa dos not suffer the same as polaris but in reality it does and amd did not want to fix polaris hehe

This is a driver issue. AMD can fix it.

AMD said themselves they are targeting 1080 performance. Not Ti. Vega is a huge disappointment.

Well since Vega is basically shit for gaming, competing with a card that was released 1 year ago, AMD better hope it's good for gaming or else their video card department will go bancrupt.

Too early to tell since they haven't released any gaming-specific cards OR had time to optimise the drivers much for gaming yet.

Not looking likely that they are going to dethrone the GTX 1080ti at this point, though, unless they perform REAL WELL under DirectX 12.

Oh I might have read that wrong, i though it was 300 watts...while mining !  1080ti is on the high end of the spectrum, that is true.  Its just If I compare it to my fury....I mean I was hoping for some kind of improvement on the power usage side Smiley  Nothing to do but wait and see then.

I got this thing up to 2.25 GH/s on Pascal...looks like out of the box with the shitty drivers this is the best bet currently. Makes sense since Pascal is purely compute and does not use vegas gimped memory controller.

My GF is currently using it as a hairdryer though...320 watts @1600mhz AND undervolted to 1090mv  Shocked

are you kidding me, 320 watts.  Gonna need a bios mod for 900mv or something Smiley

320watts.

in 2017.

wow.

Some GTX 1080ti models are 300 watt TDP to my knowlage, and I would not be shocked to find a "high factory overclock" version that was 320-350.

It's not THAT far out of line for current HIGH END cards.

What am I missing, this loses money...

Card doesn't use 800 watts. Even an entire system with one FE card in it doesn't use anywhere near 800 watts - more like 400 for a single-card system at a guess.

 THAT is what you're missing.

It's not helped by your rather HIGH electric rate at 13 cents/KWH, which is going to kill a lot or all of your profitability on ALL mining options.

13 cents/KWH is quite high. However, in West Europe, the average price is higher than that.

Agree vega should be able to do about 2,5k to 3k on monero

Uhm?

The Vega Frontier did 1170, how Vega gaming "should be able to do about 2,5k to 3k on monero"?

This is not impressive at all. A 580 clocked at 1200 can do 800-900, thats with half the cores and a fraction of the clock speed.

thanks for pointing that out.  The numbers don't sound that that impressive now that I think about it..but the important point to take out of all this is that there are no optimized miners/drivers out yet for this card.  Chances are it won't be a good value in terms of mining, but we will have to wait and see.

And the profit will still be garbage, too many botnets on monero.

If I had to guess, all this gpu mining shit levels to xmr.
