The Watts is too high, will probably be more like 200 watts.

And the profit will still be garbage, too many botnets on monero.

ah, yup. you're right.

Agree vega should be able to do about 2,5k to 3k on monero

Uhm?

The Vega Frontier did 1170, how Vega gaming "should be able to do about 2,5k to 3k on monero"?

Here's a reddit link about a developer who managed to get 1160 h/s mining Monero on his VEGA FE:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/6lz1q6/vega_owners_club/djxpnhn/

He wrote his own optimized miner after studying opencl in the course of 40 hours.   Supposedly his "Vega FE is twice as profitable mining Monero as a GTX 1080Ti mining Ethereum"

pretty impressive if it turns out to be true.

What am I missing, this loses money...

Indeed, what counted is the experience cause a rx 470 can do 850 on monero and cost $179.

Maybe it can do 500 sols with claymore ASM kernel, but what I'm starting to see here is that they intentionally cut HBM bandwidth in half in the initial driver. Looks like they are intentionally doing this to keep miners away from the cards. Thats the only explanation that makes sense, since there is no reason why these CANT do 800-900 sols theoretically.

AMD should be happy, now amd have another market to supply until proof of work continues, also vega specific mining cards might be a reality and maybe that is why AMD still did not and will not fix the hashrate on Polaris.

Gamers are waiting for vega over a year now, and if they dont release mining cards, they are going to be so pissed, because every miner will buy vega, and gamers will not be able to buy any for a long period, thats why IMO they are considering to do some buff on mining cards or unbuff gaming ones, so each side is happy or even more sides (you can use mining ones or will be used for AI-deep learning), there can be only one problem and thats logistic, you will not be able to buy it from any store (mining one). Imagine when volta comes out or even navi, the same thing will happen, miners wants to upgrade even more than gamers.

Gonna have mine soon - and will be modding the shit out of the VBIOS.

Do you think that vega will have "polaris bug" or it will not be affected like nvidia gpus?.

I kinda doubt it will have an issue - we'll see, though.

Can confirm this issue is on vega as well.

Block 3M = 34 MH
Block 4M = 29 MH
Block 5M = 22 MH

Don't care about eth .

what about zec 1000 sols at 200 watts possible?  or 900 sols at 200 watts?  or worse.

lol you wish...currently doing 400 sols @250 watts undervolted on zawaws kernel.

good this will make my 1080 ti's the king  of zec for a while longer.

There are some reports that trying to overclock the card WITH CURRENT DRIVERS will drop HBM memory speed to about half.

Claymore stores his kernels as AMDIL, I think, so it won't work for Vega.

Yep, tests are from genoil's miner...had to compile it from scratch with some tweaks to make it work properly.

Such a coin should have appeared after the introduction of the Fury line, by your logic.

However, there is no REAL logic to such a coin concept.

There might be as hbm becomes standard.

You trolls are asking the wrong question. The right question supposed to be --> optimized for high bandwidth memory, eth must not be such coin that benefits from hbm, i guess a new coin will be coming soon which will use high memory bandwidth.

Btw i don't think its driver issue, because other amd cards works just as normal.

The important thing is memory addressing, if is the same then it hols the same fate.  Drivers can fix how it addresses the memory.

Funny will be amd releasing the fix for vega cards miners and leave polaris owners on dark, i wonder what kind explanation amd will give but I think amd already fixed vega gaming drivers before launch, so amd can say veqa dos not suffer the same as polaris but in reality it does and amd did not want to fix polaris hehe

This is a driver issue. AMD can fix it.

We will see, I just now read by claymore that claymore miner doesnt even recognize vega, (Edit: As you can see post above.) so maybe he is getting false results. (he tested 3M and 4M block and there is difference, but problem is starting after 4M block) in reality vega and polaris are build on a different architecture so vega should not have the same problem, but you never know. Why do you think that amd will fix only vega but not polaris? For profit?

Before seeing any good hashrates on vega you'll need to wait out a few updates from claymore to optimize his miners across all different algorithms(mainly claymore's zec and eth miner)
No idea where is the result come from
I got a vega but it just doesn't work with most of the Kernal

What do you mean?

vega  does not mine on claymore eth at the moment he tested it.
