Just got my aftermarket vega 56 and it's using hynix memory.
can i still flash it to the manufacturer's vega 64 bios from reference cards? (samsung)

or which vega 64 bios can i flash to?
I don't flash my 56 vega to 64, and I still can get 1950 h/s using core 1375 mem 950.

anyone knows what brand of hbm2 was used in the reference powercolor vega 56?
Would have had to be Samsung; Hynix didn't have theirs available until the aftermarket boards which didn't start production until what, 4 months into Vega lifecycle?

PowerColor got a bad rap, but I think it was just silicon lottery for the ones doing public benchmarks. I have a family member with a reference PC Vega 56 with no issues.

I'm wondering what are you mining with the vegas ?

I've been mining ETN but now Nicehash pays a lot more and I can't find the coin everybody is mining. I prefer to mine the coin directly instead of going trough nicehash.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

IT IS ETN, whattomine just takes away 35% by default due to pool bad luck. Easy way to calc correct value is to add 10% to what whattomine gives for nh cryptonigh.
no, it is not etn, it is intense coin

I think Intense coin is far to small to have such an impact...only with a few bitcoins trading each day. But i have no better guess than etn due to the bad luck factor on whattomine...

i have a 3 amd vega 64 gpu. i use claymore mining software 10.2 version. i set all of my gpu at 1100mhz memory clock, no change in gpu core clock, fan at 2500-3500, power limit -24% . i used asus b250 mining expert 19gpus motherboard. my main card got 44mh/s at this specs but other 2 cards get only 35-36mh/s each. please anyone tell me what's the problem.my amd driver is 17.12.2 latest driver.

Who is buying these things at 800 dollars? At that rate why not go with a 1080 Ti? The Vegas are only amazing at Cryptonight from what I can tell.  Almost a cryptonight ASIC as a mining card...
No, it is not just cryptonight...
ETH is a good too 44,5Mh/s
44.5reported, real eth hashrate for 56(to64) vega is 43.

For almost the same amount of money you could get 90 MH/s from three RXs.

Which requires 3 pcie slots, risers, power connections.  Some people just don't understand the importance of rig density.

I'm going crazy. My Vega 56 is causing massiv problems.

- Flashed 64 BIOS on my 56.
- 1600-1700 H/s
- Intensity: 1600

if I change intensity to a higher number the rig is crashing.

Only 1x VEGA 56 (flashed to 64) is installed.

How can I fix this?

I had to increase mem p3 voltage to be able to run significantly higher mem speeds (and consequently higher hashrate). If you have done the soft power play mod it will be a breeze.

Hello

Any "genuine" word about custom vega's hashrate, so far only reading really low hashrates ( are all of these with blockchain drivers) but very good temps with low noise

Best results so far for a V56: 1950-1975h/s @ 130-135w

1. Use stock bios

2. Use the custom power play table: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AsrdFd4FVQj_hU0lNZqgJaGeLffI

3. In Wattman, set voltages to manual, fan speed to at least 3000 (this might not be necessary), and OC mem to 975.

4. Use intensities 2016 and 1736

If this got you your highest hash/watts.. feel welcome to donate to my XMR address: 4JUdGzvrMFDWrUUwY3toJATSeNwjn54LkCnKBPRzDuhzi5vSepHfUckJNxRL2gjkNrSqtCoRUrEDAgR wsQvVCjZbRzX7Z35FpEg29UmnBp

foundational work credit goes to hellae but I optimized it a bit more than his latest recommended setup: https://www.reddit.com/r/MoneroMining/comments/74hjqn/monero_and_vega_the_definitive_guide/?sort=new

Really?  135 watts, wow, how are you measuring this?
Also, what do you mean intensities at 2016 and 1736, how are you setting these?

I quit using wattman becuase it seems flaky, I'm not using custom tables because it forces the settings from registry on every startup and each card seems to have different tolerance to OC.  Do you know where we can find an editor to tune these?
Otherwise, this is a great way to get stuck in a loop, if your card can't handle those settings, IMO.
I switched to OverDriveNtool, which has a command line to set params each time and I can tune while running then save

Are you using xmr_cast-vega?
I have OC Mem AT 935/900mv and get 1950-1975 for all 5, but my watts measured at the wall are bout 200W each
No GPU clock adjusting seems to make any difference in hash or power.   I can get to 2050ish with 950, but can't keep em stable
BlockChain Aug 23 drivers, stock 56 bios, no power adjust, 60deg target/ 70 max

Any help will be appreciated.

Vega profitability doesnt matter for me, as they are OOS everywhere and no supply in sight.  I have yet to see an aftermarket GPU in stores too.  Ill try to grab some, they are expensive here at 700$ CAD for a 56.

The max mem overclock I can get on 2x Vega56 is 930Mhz and 890Mhz @ 900mV.
They are giving me 1940 and 1860 H/s respectively.

Used powertables in registry and blockchain driver. Everything adjusted through OverdriveNTool without using WatMan.

Any hints on how to get more overclock?

Try flashing your card with the Vega 64 BIOS and re-applying the registry mod (use the 1100 HBM to start, to see if it's stable).

Tried flashing to Vega64 BIOS before, but the cards were drawing to much Watts from the wall  Undecided

V64 should not use much more power. Im using 1350Mhz and 865mV by registry mod. Taking about 170W per card from wall. Fans are between 2050-2250rpm and temps from 53-58, depending on card and how cold air comes in from window.

The way I do it is to use HWiNFO64 to monitor voltage, and set core voltage to 900mV. If that takes under load (Cast/Stak is stable, and HWiNFO reports core at 900), then I'll try dropping it to 881.

Of course, I've only been successful in about half of my cards (7 of 14), but many of my others are in the low 900s, which will push the draw up to 180W or so which isn't bad; I could probably back that off and hash around 1900 at 150W, which may be more palatable for some.
