Altcoins or ICOs have different strategies and different developer team but totally they are dependent on bitcoin as were based on the blockchain technology, so we can see red market when bitcoin goes red and green when it goes green as we have observed just before. Bitcoin is the one which gives meaning to the altcoins.

Bitcoin is indeed a mother but does not mean that altcoins are from bitcoin, altcoin is created as another alternative to bitcoin. Since this bitcoin has the highest value and no one has replaced it then to get the coin, we look for another coin alternate name so named altcoin.

Whether altcoins were from bitcoin or not. I'm not sure about the fact, but I believe altcoins were dependent on bitcoin. This is what getting reflected on the market of each and every altcoin. Upon the same when the price of bitcoin drops, automatically the value of altcoins too dropping low.

But there are some coins which can withstand the changes of BTC. One of the most popular is ETH.
Altcoin's value was able to increase as many supporters kept coming. with more and more emerging supporters capable of producing far greater developments on their values. is very influential for enthusiasts who attend and support Altcoin. and also to the degree of interest, this greatly affects the development of coins that exist between the rise and fall of prices and the value of coins.

BTC is the base of cryptomarket, but altcoins are connected with it. This symbiosis allows both of elements to increase and rise at all.

How exactly do altcoins gain value? There are so many altcoins out there and honestly you can see connection among these in terms of the drop and rise of price.

Well some of altcoin's price are related to bitcoin because major funds of that said coin is also bitcoin and other major coins. So automatically when bitcoin is down so do they, however the difference is that if that coin has alot of investors then it will move upwards yet bitcoin will stay the same.

If the price of bitcoin will down the price of altcoin will also down in times 2 or times 3 ,so as I see when you lose your money in bitcoin because the market is Down now ,you will lose double or tripple  on  altcoin.

Bitcoin is a reference coin to which everyone equals and whose place each altcoy wants to occupy. If bitcoin grows very fast, altcoins are falling. If bitcoin falls sharply, altcoins fall even more. And only when bitcoin is stable, altcoins grow. While some altcoyin will not overtake bitcoin in terms of capitalization, it will. This is the fundamental basis of the market at the moment.

The value comes from demand, if there is a huge demand for a coin and since most of these coins are not minable with fixed token supply, so as the demand for this coin increases the price also increases

Altcoins are not from bitcoin it is made by some developers for their own project support.
Altcoins are related to bitcoin in their price only because the market uses mostly bitcoin in having trade price with any coins.
Even the coin has the price in USD still bitcoin insist as they are getting dollar value equal to bitcoin price in USD.

For me no, it is not from Bitcoin, because of the bitcoin limited supply and when it become known and start to grow Bitcoin supply is not enough to those bitcoiners who want it, so only few people can have it or those people who can only afford Bitcoin because limited supply while have higher demand of it. And that's the one of the reason why alternative coin or altcoin created, but its not like bitcoin. Altcoin is much develop than bitcoin in technology but still bitcoin are great crypto to all even many altcoin are created and have potential.

Bitcoin and altcoin is different from each other they are independent. Although bitcoin influence altcoin in the market it does not mean they are on the same source. Investors makes the price moves and they are making the coin to have value.

Bitcoin is an Altcoin, but many are misconceived that Bitcoin is a king and Altcoin does not include it. Like all coins, Bitcoin is also a virtual currency and is based on the blockchain platform. So, Bitcoin is an Altcoin.

From my understandng alt stands for alternative, so alternative coins to bitcoin. The majority of alts are currenty token based on the Ethereum blockchain. There are also forks of Bitcoin which have the same or a slightly modified code such as Litecoin or Bitcoin cash. I am  not sure if these also fall in the same category

Majority of the alternative coins is very dependent on bitcoin. You can check it on coinmarketcap that when the market price of bitcoin up majority of the alternative coins also goes up and when the market price of bitcoin goes down the alternative coins also goes down.

The price of a currency is the measure of the trust that people have in that currency.
In this case, as bitcoin represents in public perception all criptocurrencies, its value measure the general trust toward the cryptoworld.
Is that simple.
