I don't think so. Cause in this market most of the coins are altcoins. I know the most of the marketcap is hold by bitcoin. But still many altcoin has great value and marketcap. And the most interesting thing is with almost all coin a project works. And with altcoins a lot of new and innovative project coming to the market. I know many of them are scam or failed project. But many of them working hard to make this ecosystem great. So I think altcoins are very much mandatory for this market. Not all of them but which ones who backed by great project.

why would altcoins be classified as useless? Upon what criteria would that be considered? Altcoins can never be classified as useless and the fact that most altcoins shows no significant growth or progress does not mean altcoins are useless. I am basing my answer as whether alternative cryptocurrencies have value or if it is worth buying based on my own experiences. My experience is mostly as a bounty hunter and doing small trades on many campaigns and exchanges for years now would guarantee me that the coins you mentioned are not the only ones that are used in the market. Many altcoins have value, however small that might be. And as long as you get profit from it, however small the profit might be, then that means the altcoin is being utilized and being trusted by many.

Personally, I do not see anything bad in the fact that altcoins are developing and I consider this to be a laudable deed.  Of course, not without shitty coins.  They are always there.  But all the same Altcoins are very profitable coins.

Nowadays, there's an altcoin for nearly everything we need such as privacy, scalability, and more. Whereas Bitcoin cannot fulfill certain tasks, altcoins will serve well their purpose within the mainstream world.

Still though, the competition is getting fierce each day. With Bitcoin's inception of the Lightning Network, it could render most altcoins useless. While only a few will remain actively supported and traded across several crypto exchanges, Bitcoin will still remain in the lead as a cryptocurrency for micropayments and long-term, reliable investments. Good altcoins that will become extremely useful for the future would be: Ethereum, Monero, IOTA, and Stellar.
