Well we don't hear about them that much but at least I know of them and have sighted one in Dubai, it will serve our good if it's on the rise in our cities but I doubt if it's getting any popular because we don't get to hear about them outside this forum.

yeah it's growing , but on the same place and same country. i can't see there's a significant changes on how a new country installed their first bitcoin ATM or something. everything looks have a slower growth . people really not yet love to accept a new thing in their lives as a part of better changes for the future.
You will not see the significant changes, Too many people have realized about a high fee through using the ATM machine. That makes the spread of the machines being so low in my mind.

It's not a new thing but it must get determined by a lot of the factors. Don't judge them like they are the old person with lack of interest in the new technology.

I don't want to pay some dollar just to make a transaction through ATM.
i mean when there's a new place/a new country start build the ATM or when on a city build 2 or more ATM at once it was a significant changes. the growth could be accelerated , and the high fee could be adjusted to more reasonable. of course when you move from fiat ATM to bitcoin ATM , isn't it a new thing? especially for a newcomer right?

I have not seen any bitcoin atms in my area or in my travels. I don't hear anyone talk about them.

The good thing is that I have gotten some of my family and friends into Bitcoin. After awhile I am sure they will get others in too.

The BTC ATMs (BTMs) are convenient once you have gone through the AML/KYC process.  But the fees are high (the ones in the USA I have used vary between 12% - 18% fee buying them, I have not sold via BTM).

But, in my city, it is a HASSLE setting up meetings via localbitcoins.con (making an appointment OK with both, driving over & parking, paying whatever fee the SELLER asks for, etc.).

I used Circle for a while before they made using it a pain in the ass, but their fee was very low (a little over 1%).

bitcoin.com offers a service, the total fee is about 7.5% and has worked OK.

HIGH FEES are the problem for me, when in the USA.  But remember, the owners of the machines have to collect the money (each day?) as well as maintain them, pay rent to the store owners, etc.

On localbitocins.com you dont have to meet face to face. I never have. Got their bank, make a cash deposit, send them the receipt and they release the BTC. Easy as going to the convenience stoe.

Obviously it is more popular specially when you are a bitcoin holder or a bitcoin users you would probably pick bitcoin more than cash but still atm cash machines is still what more people use in this days bitcoin cash machine is becoming popular but still need more partnerships in many companies you cant even go shopping with bitcoin hopefully it will be in the future.

Hoping for it to happen in our country though there are more banks that are used in cashing out bitcoin but there are few bitcoin atm in our country it can only spot in one or two city which is too far ,so I still used banks .

i didn't see it will became more popular in my country and most of the bitcoiners is not interested using it because they says it the fees for each transactions was pretty high rather than convert into local exchange
Exactly because of the high transaction fee bitcoin users become disappointed. But yes its true that bitcoin now is popular. It just going to be more popular if the problem in the transaction fee will be solve as soon as possible.

They are already enough in those places where the users of bitcoin are in more number and when in other places anyone will demand and the crowd will be more then they will also be provided with that facilities. Nowadays many people are using their bitcoin debit cards through which they can easily withdraw their bitcoin from other normal ATMs so I think that is why it is not problem for them and they do not claim much about it.

I have not yet seen a single one in my country, but I am aware that here in Mexico, with a population of 120 millions there are only about five bitcoin ATM machines. So I think that in my country they are not yet so popular.

In my country they have only 1 ATM machine . You can buy and sell bitcoin anytime you want but I dont think it is become popular why because the transaction fee is very big the buy and sell the price is not near I think the between $150 is the fee . For example the price of bitcoin is $1800 there you can buy this @1850 dollars and then you sell it $1700 thats very big amount. So I can choose local exchange the fee is good . But if ATM bitcoin machine will less their transaction fee I think many user will use their ATM and they will become popular .

Most of them are located in Europe, USA and Canada. Interestingly, there are only a few of them in Asia and China. This is so interesting.

I heard there was a spike in 2014/2015, haven't heard much about it in the news recently.
That was probably their peak, there hasn't exactly been any growth around me and most of the time it looks like they're just there from either a time long gone or they are used occasionally, but not very commonly. I personally don't use them mostly because of the huge spot price that they put on it as opposed to what Bitcoin is actually trading for, but if they brought it down to within $10 then I would consider using them more.

Learning the troll avoidance button :)
Now the development of ATM machines are at the level of developed countries. While in developing countries it is still hard to find. Imagine 1 country has only 2 to 3 ATM machines. This is a very absent number, maybe only lucky people who have the opportunity to use ATM bitcoin.

They do need local operators someone needs to do the online tracking for the machines and empty the cashbox otherwise the machine would never be operational so it's in part those who can afford to run the machines and are also located in a place where they can get demand for it. Not including other issues like location contracts with vendors/supplying the machines/ negotiation on rent prices for a location, accounting and legal etc. 2-3 a day is not bad when that is all considered.

Yes on average 2-3 new machines are becoming operational globally on a daily basis, with nearly 1200 machines the speed is picking up though, but it will take some time to see more.

Their biggest benefit really is ease of use as it is as easy as going there putting in cash and receiving or selling Bitcoins without the exchange delays.
