I have female friends who use and trade BTC I personally dont get the old stigma that IT or technical skills in regards to new techonology is almost completely male, thats a very old view in my eyes.

it's an old view, but it is still true, although more and more women are interested in those fields nowadays and that's awesome Cheesy I think in a few years it'll balance and we won't have to talk about this anymore (hopefully).

I'm trying to get as many women as possible interested in crypto-currency. Bitcoin mostly but I don't believe bitcoin can survive long term without at least one altcoin that breaks away from the pack as well.

I think more women are interested in btc now as it becomes more popular.
Of course there are more men into it cause of their origins (more men into mining, more men into tech in general).
But I do see more women interested in btc and in luckyb.it now, just you wait Smiley

That's an easy question to answer: There are as many girls using BTC as there are female server administrators as BTC and server administration is seen equally complicated to the main street girl (and guy).

It is a shame that we have so many market places and casinos and stuff but no website that helps making BTC accessible to the mainstream folks that close their ears when they hear "Altcoin" and "Cryptocoin" and "Hashrate" and "Blockchain" and all that things.

What this world needs, is a user oriented website that makes getting and spending BTCs as easy as 1,2,3.

Yes, no one hates an easy to use site and currency. All now are fast paced.

I think it wont be long until we have a nice diverse mix of genders using the currency. Im sure there are plenty of girls using it now but im sure the ratio is no where near that of males at the moment.

BTC-e did a demographic poll last year, and 90% of their clients were men.

BTC-e account holders are Chinese so that's how they roll in the East.

Yep, woman in kitchen making rice cakes, man on computer in study wheeling and dealing his Litecoins.

but generally in internet males are much more than females.

Not in 2014.

Sure it has been that way historically. But I don't think you can say that this is the case anymore.

men are just nerdier.  thats why.  its like that for bitcoin now.

Ofcourse there will be girls/women who use Bitcoin, but in far less quantity's then boy's/men do i'd imagine.

How many 60+ age peope use Bitcoin? That's a far more difficult question to ask I think.

Most people in the 60+ age group struggle with the basics of using a computer, if they've even attempted it. They're still in awe of the cordless home phone.

For the most part technology has passed them by.

Not many 60+ I would say only a\ handful and we would be surprised by the actual figure.
