NFT tokens depend on hype to have success and hypes don't last a long time. So I think it's better to sell them and exchange the money into a safe cryptocurrency for long term goals, at least until a sustainable NFT project concept isn't launched. Only then it will be worthful for investors to hold these tokens aiming benefits futurely. Because the way NFTs are now, it's too risky to invest and stake on them, since projects totally lose their value, demand and popularity overnight without previous warnings. We already have some NFT games as example and so far they haven't been good, including the popular Axie Infinity which proved to be unprofitable to invest on its SLP token.
Riding with hypes is more possible with NFT in terms of quick benefits, you can invest and wait for quick bounce then sell your asset.
But long-term wise, it's really tough to pick which NFT tokens to hold as how things currently working right now, it's shows that investors are
not doing the pump and if you failed to sell your token you needed to wait or else you will sell it with possible loses, it's a case to case opinions
since there are also investors who see good future with this kind of investment.
True. Besides Axie, another example is MIR4, blockchain game, that during the initial hype (and when cheaters and mafias' impact wasn't too expressive) had its token priced in 8$ or 9$ for every 100K of an in-game ore you have to "mine" with your character/avatar. Right now the token value has dropped to 0,44$ and you need 411K of that same in game ore to acquire one unit of the token.
Token devalued 18x since ATH and effort to acquire the token has increased 4x. Besides that, it's painful to play the game and mine the ore, because it is full PvP mode, so you keep being chased by another players and harassed by bots. In the end, the game has become totally worthless...
