I don't gamble much, but I guess it depends on how people feel at that moment i.e. their mood. Some people likes to place solo bets and then there are others that like to join a competition and compete against each other. Hence, you will see most of the casino has some sort of challenge or contest that everyone can join, compete and get rewarded. It's a different kind of amusement, you know.
If we're going to join in the competitions while we are lone better, we can ask some of our friends to place the bet for us.
You don't want to ask your friends to place bets for you. I mean unless they are someone who is very chill with you, you should never tell anyone else to do it on your behalf. What if you lose big? Your "friend" is going to feel guilty or you will end up blaming him. What if you win big? You "friend" might think he deserve the win. Don't ever tell some random friend to place bets on your behalf.

Betting against friends sure makes it more fun. I enjoy the trash talk and analysis of the game whether I win or lose my bets. To me it just another layer to enjoy sports betting overall. However, I think losing to fellow friends makes me compete more which resonates to more urge to bet to get even. To some people it could turn out bad, but I think what's important is to enjoy the game, thrill of betting with others and knowing when to stop.
Exactly, when things get a little competitive crossing the line sometimes is a possibility, that will only happen if the people you are playing against are your friends and almost some of your friends will not be able to take a trash talk or a joke but if you are competing against strangers I think that it doesn't really get that competitive but you still have to do your best because it is a competition after all. I don't do betting a lot but I don't like doing competition so I assume that I am more of a lone bettor myself.
I think betting with friends will give an exciting time for us because we can talk or trick them on the analysis or joke with them. When we gamble with them, I think the winner or loser will not be too important because I can enjoy our time with them. Maybe that is a competition between us, but that will be more fun if we want to spend our time together. If we're going to join in the competitions while we are lone better, we can ask some of our friends to place the bet for us.

I’m definitely a lone bettor. I do it to have fun. I think of it as entertainment and nothing more. When I watch sporting events it just feels like you’re on the team in a strange way when you’ve got skin in the game. Gives you a reason to celebrate as well. Who doesn’t like ordering a round for the bar after a big win knowing it’s paid for by the team.  Smiley

I am also a lone bettor myself. I prefer to bet on my own terms. Not a competitive one when it comes to betting. I only disturb myself on this simple pleasures of life.  Tongue Also, being a lone bettor, I don't have to worry about my bets or the amount of bets in place, that may somehow other people are looking at.
I personally do research in  games I am interested on betting on thus placed my bets alone without any input from any external source I am a soccer gambler and followed EPL passionately thus  my soccer analysis and outcome is based on my personal judgement if I eventually win I am well satisfied if the outcome  or result is in the other way round I will wait for another round of opportunities to come.

I can only count with the fingers of my hands the times when I joined betting competitions. And even in those competitions I did not participate well and did my best to win. I just opted in because it was there free for anyone who wishes to join, and then placed my usual bets and leave the rest for the competition to go on. I have not won in any betting competition. Lol. Needless to say, I am just a lone bettor who follows my own betting pattern and mood in betting.
That is probably the truth for most of us, those kind of competitions are won for the most part by the ones that are wiling to bet huge amounts of money, and for people like us that are just gambling on a budget winning in any of those competitions is simply out of the question, still it is fun to see who is ahead and ends ups winning the competition, but during that time I prefer to gamble as I normally do as the capital I have for gambling is small.

I bet for myself. Of course the competitive process is very interesting and exciting. But for me I see no reason to participate in a tournament with bets. Because I think it's so easy to lose. Because you will run after the result you will make mistakes. When you bet for yourself it's better in the long run and that way you can make fewer mistakes.

I agree, the odds of winning in an tournament are much smaller than if we are just gambling against the casino. When playing casino games we know the odds in advance and can react better, but when playing against a lot of different people we don't know the odds. In the end it also depends on our skills and knowledge, so we know more than the other players? Or is it all just based on luck? With a large number of people in the tournament our chances of winning are fairly small.

you are competting not only with yourself against the house but also with those experienced gamblers. It's adding the pressures and if you are not going to go more deeper the chance to win is smaller.

Though if you are looking to added more fun with your gambling activities, and if you are such a types of competitive gambler. Participating with this kind of competitions adds more entertainment  especially when you win.

There's a difference between the two, when you participate contests you're less pressured to make mistakes since these contests could go on for months and they don't cost that much (sometimes there's free entry) unlike betting where you're forced to deposit the minimum on certain sites. Both of them have good and bad sides but it depends on what you prefer since there will be good times to participate contests and once a week you gather up with the other participants and have a nice small discussion with the predictions you've made.
Contests means that in a way you have to have your competitive spirit on because if not then why join the contest when all you ever wanted was the participation trophy, I mean shouldn't there be a drive to win more when you are playing against other players compared to playing alone because you know that there isn't going to be an external reward if you win or lose when you are a lone bettor.

That depends on the type of tournament because not all tournaments rely heavily on skill and the chances of winning isn't always small as the rewards can be distributed in different ways like this on going tipster competition by vennali that includes a bonus prize pool. Nowadays there are so many types of tournament so don't always expect that your chances are small unless it's a competition where there's no equal footing like wagering competitions for example.

Sometimes, being lone bettor is the way for us to enjoy the game and to have fun in our free time. But if we want to feel more excited, we can join in the competitions and compete with the other bettors. So far, playing alone will be better for me as if I join in the competitive one,

Actually there's some intances that I get bored upon playing alone thats why I keep jumping from other casino to new just to find good satisfaction upon my playtime. Thats why its good to have those competition running since it makes the game exciting and the interaction between players is so fun especially when the game is roling.
I do that too for some time, but I always prevent jumping from one casino to another casino in a short time because that can make me deposit more money to many casinos. Even if that casino is recommended to playing gambling, we can spend more money just want to feel satisfaction. I do not like competition because we need to compete with the other gamblers, but that can be worth it if we want to test our luck and skills among the other gamblers.

Engaging in competition betting kind of take your prediction skills to a whole new level. The desire to win kind of pushes you to the edge of prediction, now you no longer bet just for the fun as most persons do or just to win the bet but, to be as accurate on your predictions as possible. You tend to consider every statistics that exists including other peoples bets and the reason behind there predictions. This is what your likely not to consider when being a lone bettor, your choice of game and your interest on what option to bet on becomes your limitation. But in competitive betting, you are challenge a more tasking betting and wager for which you try to be as accurate as possible and it gives you a sense of pride each time you actually get it right.
You are totally right indeed, but you should also be careful of what you are doing because when you compete with other contestants you are  tempted to try new techniques and strategies you didn't use before and they can drive you to undergo more losses at the end. Moreover the pressure can lead you to bet while you aren't in a clear and lucid state of mind.

There's no problem with me if I gamble alone or gamble with other friends like the competitive one, I'm always suitable on which the two options as long as I have enjoyed what I'm doing no matter what it is. But believe me, it's really having fun being a competitive bettor, the excitement and the thrill was on a competitive one not like a lone bettor after placing a bet you need to close the site and wait for the result.

The good thing with being a competitive bettor is there a chance you will find a friend online, the more you engage bettor online the more friend will I guess you may have.

I think that if you have some sort of discipline and skill, you would probably benefit more from a competition.

The odds offered on normal, individual bets honestly aren't the best. You're much more likely to find value by playing against others who may be of the same skill level or less.

Think about it. If you were good at poker, would you play against the house in some poker variant (guaranteed -EV), or against others? Obviously the latter.

Gambling will be filled with fun and energy only when we make a win. The same makes people into sadness when there is losing streak. If it is played alone, then the pain will be within us. If it was played along with a companion, it might make him feel along with us. At times responsibility for the loss will be taken, but loss of money is always a loss. Why should we make someone feel for the mistake made by us or why should we feel for the mistake done by others. For this reason I find lone betting to be better.

I've never joined any prediction competition until I joined it for the first time on betnomi competition. I remember when betnomi has a bet competition on this forum where the prize is really huge, 1 BTC. nothing to lose for me because there's no requirement, just place your bets and wait until all matches finish. it was a free bet.

well, my analysis skill was at the same level as when I am doing a fun bet. there's no improvement in my luck or analysis skill even when I joined a competition with a huge prize. I just picked it blindly, just like a lottery. lol  Grin

however, it was more fun, sometimes you hope your opponent losing their bets too  Grin

For pure profit I like to bet alone, or maybe with one friend together, but a group too large for betting can be difficult. For fun I enjoy the como é to tons, especially for big tournaments I like to bet on each game with friends and in the end a lot of us win, so the money is not a lot and just moves around between us. And when betting in competitions I like to take more risks as its usually just for fun.
Same here as well; I will be honest, I am a lone bettor and when I am betting and watching sports, I just don't like anyone around me. Once the bet is settled it depends on the result, if I have won and I am happy, I will chat around with the people and have fun and be generous too with fellow players and send tips. But if I have lost and I am upset, I again want some space and avoid talking with anyone.

As far as tournaments and betting against other players goes, I hardly take part in many tournaments but I do take part in some promotions but not against players but against the house itself. Like sportsbet had a promotion where we had to win some bets in a row and we get free bets and top players get cash, I took part in that and won some. I also take part in stake's forum challenges, but I am betting more against the house than players basically.

I hardly play fantasy sports either, so I think I am a lonely bettor but otherwise a very active and social member of the society.

I too was a lone bettor before and just enjoy the silent victories or the silent failures. But as years go by, I had been very competitive and wanted to play more, all because of my partner who’s also very competitive at almost everything.

I used to avoid competitions and preferred to just place my own bets on sports to see how it goes. I was glad to win and sad to lose, and it was between me and sports. In autumn, however, I entered a Sportsbet EPL prediction competition, and after months of it going on, I must say that I do find it engaging when various people make predictions for the same games, and then I can see how other people are making their decisions and how they are performing as well. At first, I thought I had no chance there, but I'm currently lucky to be in top-10, so now I do care about remaining there Smiley

Do you prefer being on your own with your matches and bets or do you like to take part in various tournament to boost the competitive spirit of it all?
