This is my greatest fear, getting my system compromised to hackers that is why i use different unit for all my financial transactions that includes banking and cryptocurrencies. That unit is strictly for crypto and banking, nothing else.

Around 60% I'm afraid, because when I do transactions using google authenticator. I think is enough.
But I must beware, hacker will try to attack the weakness of the our transactions. They will do until the get they want. So for us, must keep safety we do the transactions.

if you keep your wallet securely, I think not to worry about hacker. However, your myetherwallet in danger if you log in with pv key. pv key can be stole by spyware. if you log in with pasword with json file, I think it s secure enough.

Recently Bloomberg posted the information that it took hackers less than 10 years to steal over 14% of all existing Bitcoins and Ethereum from the wallets of their holders. The total sum they have stolen is more than $1,2 billion! How to protect yourself from hackers attacks? Are you afraid of this stuff?

1.2B is less than 0.25% of total market cap on all coins. Believe me, banks have much more than 0.2% thefts on their CC.
I think is more possible somebody to steal my CC than my wallet.

I don’t think “afraid” is the right word.  I’d say that I am aware of the risks and I am vigilant and take precautions to minimize my exposure.

Some of my rules to avoid hackers:

1.  Don’t download any new wallets for airdrops.
2.  Don’t download any new wallets for forks until they are community vetted, open source.
3.  Don’t trust any website, especially when private keys are involved.
4.  Don’t leave coins on an exchange or online wallet.
5.  Keep virus software up to date.
6.  Keep transfers to a minimum.
7.  Don’t use your wallets with public WIFI.
8.  Encrypt your wallets, and use unique passwords and user names for your wallets.
9.  Use unique passwords, emails, and user names, when registering on websites for new services, airdrops, exchanges, etc. ...

There's no need to be afraid in hackers because we have 2fa here or private keys so even they know your password and information about your account still they can't withdraw your coins. To avoid anything scam here i think don't click any link and listen first if soneone already post that here like they register in binance if you don't that exchanger don't register there and ask first if it's legit.

The best way to protect yourself is to not use online, public exchanges to hold large sums of money.

The second part is to keep your computer clean of malware and other nasty stuff.

Perhaps keep a dedicated PC for crypto.

I think the biggest fear, besides the bursting bubble, is that your founds would get somehow hacked and stolen. I think we should all decide to buy a hardware wallet to be extra safe when dealing with our tokens.

I think the biggest fear of all is that your account can be hacked and your funds will be stolen. The bursting bubble comes on second place Smiley

Why?  Almost any exchange works with google authenticator.  Why is it not safe?

For me: I mostly work on a chromebook: no virus, malware, etc.  I don't hold any password or phrase online and only use 2fa.

i'm not talking the phone itself, i should've said sms based. there've been a bunch of publicised hacks where hackers took control away of people's sim cards by social engineering the phone companies to transfer the number to them. hey presto, instant 2fa access to their coinbase account or whatever.

The main misconception in the media is the fact that Bitcoin is a favorite payment method used by hackers around the world because of its anonymity. This is not so bitcoin isn't completely anonymous. He uses pseudonyms and this is far from the best payment option for such a deal on the black market.
Bitcoin is really a powerful tool to send money and they will be received in any country of the world but it's traced through the blockchain. Track payments through the blockchain with the observance of precautions very difficult. However hackers can worry that transactions in the blockroom are public they cannot be deleted. The term of the investigation is not limited the evidence will hang as long as the network exists.

Not afraid at all to be honest but that is because I know how they do what they do, so I know how to avoid it (most common hacking attempts).

To the people that are afraid of hackers here are some tips for you.

- When signing up for a online wallet/exchange use a brand new email and password. This is help stop bruteforcing attacks. Also never use that email and password for any other website.

- If storing coins on your own computer make sure it is a clean computer or even by a brand new basic computer that will only be used to store your coins. Also only have the computer online if doing transfers.

- Think before you act, many people fall for click bate ads so much definitely here. If the offer sounds to good to be true it is. These links can go to phishing websites, JavaScript injection links, exploited websites or even running exploits to download there payload.

- Dont download random files from the internet, even in the ordinary world it's a bad idea. It can help to run the file through virus total before running but even then your not safe there is such thing called a crypter so virus scanners can be pretty useless at times.

All in all if ou don't want to get hacked you need to be more aware of what you are doing online. What I put above is just the basics and I'm sure there are some other good tips people could also post.

We NEED to be afraid of hackers, and we have to take any precaution against them.
Like it or not, our computers are very vulnerable, and it's better to look paranoid that to lose all our money.

Btw, hackers have easy life just because stupid mistakes and distraction: with a little attention, it's not so difficult to be protected.

I am scared of crypto in general, as most of the coins don´t even have built in mechanisms to even detect, for example, that you are sending ETH to an address that does not exists. Hackers, well, I have so little that it does not make sense to try to steal it.

Yes I'm afraid. Nowadays, hackers will do whatever they want with the use of advanced technology. That's why in everything that you do not just in cryptoworld, you must prioritize the safety and protection of your account.
