Lottery is type of betting that is quite popular in almost every country and not only online but also offline in every purchase.
Lottery betting has various ways that gamblers can do to get good numbers or numbers that can increase gamblers confidence when buying them that the numbers are really correct and worth betting on.
But basically the lottery is bet with an RNG algorithm or has random numbers in its performance, of course luck will be very influential in this bet and this is bet with very pure percentage of luck.

In the past there has been discussion about buying more lottery tickets will increase your chances of winning and this discussion has occurred in other threads in this gambling discussion section.
There are some people who believe that buying more tickets will increase their chances of winning but to me that is an absurd idea.
There are lots of random numbers and of course, from series of numbers, you can never guarantee that one of them will come out if all of them are used to buy lottery ticket.
It is better to bet smartly and as much as possible avoid careless or unreasonable methods to avoid significant losses.

Having a lot of tickets in no way guarantees a win - especially in the case of electronic lotteries, where the computer knows perfectly well what combination has not yet been bought - and that is what will most often be the winning combination. Therefore, if you buy a lot of tickets, you may end up with a big loss rather than the other way around

Just the same way we have a security threshold and any extra character you add to a password does not necessarily reduce the chances of it getting hacked, we also have that threshold with game of lucks like lottery.
The chance of winning is hypothetically 1 in a million, that is 0.0001%, if you buy 100 tickets you chance of winning then is 0.01%, both of them are in the range of impossibility still.

To have a decent chance of winning by getting more tickets you will need more than 10% of ticket supply consistently over several games, not very sustainable.

There are lottery gamblers here in my country who believe in the myth of guaranteeing a lottery prize by "investing" on the purchase of several tickets for a round. There are even youtubers who teach the "technique" to the audience, so they can surely win a lottery prize. Of course it doesn't work for real, otherwise everyone would be buying tons of lottery prizes every draw to guarantee a regular passive income.

The truth is that it doesn't worth to buy a lot of tickets, because it's still gambling. It's like increasing your bet size and winning chances on dice game. This way you will have higher winning chances, it's true, however the risks of losing money are still there and you may face a huge single loss if you are unlucky on that specific round. It's even worse than playing with a single or few tickets, because you are risking big money to win little profit (as in a hypothetical winning, biggest part of the prize would be used to cover tickets' costs).

if there is a chance to buy online, t would buy. Its hard to just pass that P571,554,916.40. spend just $3 for the tickets i guess will not hurt my month's pay but i would probably just limit it to that amount. the odds of winning is just too high.

even at such high odds though people will keep on buying. i overheard some time in the past when i was on the train, two girls laughing as they checked their tickets on the paper one said, if she wins she'd dump her husband lol for good.

Let's assume there are a hundred tickets and certainly one out of 100 will get you to the jackpot, and you buy 2 tickets usually and now you are buying 10 tickets which certainly increases the chance of winning from 2% to 10% but it doesn't mean you may ever win at all and the same theory goes for even if you buy 99 out of 100 tickets, stll you got 1% chance to lose.

So buying more tickets isn't gonna increase the possibility of winning in my opinion.

As long you do buy a ticket then there's always a chance or something not could be zero, it is really just that people do really make out those kind of realizations that winning is almost close to impossible basing up on the odds and the tickets purchased but somewhat its not really that shocking or something new that people would really be having those kind of hopes on the time that they would be making out some lottery betting. Despite of the odds or chance but still people would really be that a fan on betting because they are really that hoping that they could changed up their lives in a snap
once they do hit up the jackpot. You would really be needing all the luck in the world for you to be able to hit up those combinations. The important thing on here is that you should not make yourself that optimistic on hitting or winning because it would really just frustrate you out all the time.  

Even if you buy all the tickets needed to get all the possible combinations, you're not getting worth your money because there's billions of combinations and the win isn't worth it. I do also buy myself some tickets but the thought never crossed my mind to buy more tickets because I'm not going to get that win even if I buy 2 or 3 tickets, no way I'm hitting that win. Fun fact, the corruption in the country of the Philippines is so blatant, that lottery prize probably went to the pockets of the corrupt officials and this has happened a lot before to be called a coincidence, they're definitely using those fake winners as a way to sneakily steal the funds of the people.

I know that every ticket has a chance to win so if I can afford it I buy 3 more tickets for $1.08 tickets will not hurt I only bet when the stake is too high but on normal betting I seldom bet only when I have extra money, it's hard to win in a lottery you have to be extremely lucky to win the jackpot.
Every bettor prays that luck landed on their life to win a lottery if I will be granted one wish to win in gambling I'd pick the lotto because you only need to win once to change your life, on casinos you can win many times but those wins are not life-changing if you are not risking a lot of money.

Personally, I do not buy any tickets as I consider one (1) as sufficient to try out my chances in the lottery.

I somehow associate with your posts, OP. In the Philippines, around hundreds of millions of pesos is at stake in our lottery weekly. Statistically speaking, the more tickets that you have, the more chances that you may actually win the lottery. I tried buying three (3) tickets before but it seems that purchasing one is already enough to try my chances daily. Imagine purchasing more than two (2) tickets daily- such expense would accumulate and I would rather save my money rather than buying those extra two (2) tickets.

Though this may be the case, I just hope that someday, I would be able to experience winning something as big as the lottery.

The logic is correct in the sense that if you buy more tickets, it will increase the chances of winning, but there is one thing. The fact is that the chances of winning are so small that even if they are multiplied by buying several tickets, they will still remain extremely small. I love lotto and also often play it, but I only buy one ticket. Because you need to give your imagination a chance. But only one lotto ticket is enough for this. And I think that if a person is destined to win, then he will win. Even with only one ticket in hand.

Literally speaking on which when it comes to maths and other things that connected then we can really say that your odds of winning is really that increasing basing up on the tickets that you had bought but we do know deep inside about the overall odds that you do have on hitting up the jackpot on which we know that those numbers are really that close to impossible. More Lottery tickets means bigger chances of winning, but does not guarantee winning; odds is simply you against all bettors. Let's say you managed to buy 10% of the bets by that time. In such lotto where I also play every Sunday in my country which is different from the Philippines I keep buying maximum 1-5 tickets as the percentage is just an illusion here,the more tickets the more percentage is a deceiving fact and I don't rely to much on it.This lotto goes live on TV every Sunday and I have seen that people who win it are usually old in age and that they tell the jury there how many tickets they bought to achieve the biggest win,most of their answers is that we buy the same amount as me and just a bit more,their answer was 1-10 tickets.

In such lotto the best thing to hope for is that luck hits you while the more tickets you buy the more chances to win in theory is true while in practice is just an illusion.

Yes, I increase my tickets if the jackpot hits high but I'm not very confident that these additional tickets will increase my chances there is news of winners holding or buying one ticket if you're so lucky you're going to win the jackpot but at least you have more shots not only on the jackpot but also on the consolation prizes like if you hit 5 or 4 combinations.

Nah, even if we calculate the probability of the given lottery, it's still hard to increase the chances of winning unless you are pretty rich to afford many tickets plus the hassle of writing down all of the numbers you have used. Well, there's no harm if we try to increase the number of tickets just consider it an investment as you have still a chance to win millions. I have no luck in the lottery I've been buying for years already but I found myself more profit in scratch-it cards, that's where I bought 10 pieces for fun, I won like $20 by just simply scratching.

I’m not buying more tickets because what difference it can make to increase my winning chance rate. Winning a lottery is much harder than being struck by a lightning twice. It’s game of hard core luck and the only time buying more tickets to increase winning chance rate make sense is when you are pouring out tons of money until you cover at least 70% above winning chance rate.

Buying a single ticket is enough for me to enjoy this game. This is PCSO which means we have same country. BTW I bet on all of those draw with huge jackpot but failed to even hit 3 digits above on my tickets.

Lotto is so popular here in our country that there's a lotto outlet on just about every corner of cities and towns in our country just the other day there was a long line of bettors because the Lotto 6/55 jackpot skyrocketed to P571,554,916.40 or $10,206,337 after no winners for a long time.

I don't usually bet on 6/55 Lottery only 6/42 and 6/45 because the probability is just too high on 6/55 but I have to take chances because of the huge jackpot, every bettor's chances are equal so from not usually betting 6/55 I am betting now and will continue betting until the jackpot is hit,  and so from buying two tickets I'm buying 10 tickets now to increase my chances the ticket cost 20 pesos here or $0.36.
