I think this is most important point that helped to become much happier over the years. In the past I used to always focus one some big purchases, like a gaming PC when I was a kid or a new car after I grew older. It took a long time of saving money to reach that goal and the happiness I got in the end from the one big thing wasn't what I had hoped for. If you spend so much time thinking about  one particular thing the expectations become so high, that once you actually get it won't live up to it. That it's why it so much better to treat ourselves regularly for something small and not expensive, rather than a few large items.  For me scratch tickets is one item that can help to change my mood whenever I feel down. They are only 2 Euros and I usually buy 2 of them, and even when I only make my money back from them which happens a lot, I already feel better.

I am very rarely happy with new things, no matter if they are expensive or not, for me the most important thing in this regard is, that they always to be comfortable.

I feel happy when I spend time with my family, it can be just a walk in the park, or a trip to a cafe, maybe a trip to nature. It doesn't cost a lot of money, but it always takes my free time, so I would like to be financially independent so that I can manage my time as I please. It seems to me that shopping can be enjoyable if we buy something related to our hobby, but this also requires free time.

Yes, I quite agree with many of your points. I have always heard that some people who are very rich have the money they need to do whatever they want with it, but they can't buy happiness with their money. Although I have not been there, I just imagined how someone who has money can't find happiness unless the money is not made in a legitimate way. Also, some people end up accumulating a lot of money and wealth, but along the way they become so sick, so sick to an extent that their health issues are always a threat to them every day that passes by.

Well, I can say that some people become so greedy in pursuit of money that they do some ugly things, and when they begin to pay back what they have done in the past, they are now short of happiness. Apart from that, I think that anyone who makes their success in a cool way will enjoy their riches and also find happiness.

Money should make you happy but if it doesn't then you are probably spending it the wrong way. See the eight suggested principles to help anyone to be able to get happiness from their money.
In a normal circumstances money will bring happiness and joy in a life of man, so I believe that money will make you happy when you are having money subsequently in your source of making money, if you don't have money you might be annoyed at any point in time, so therefore i want to tell you that their is different between spending money wrongly and the point you are making emphasis on, spending money wrongly is when you are not utilizing your money by channelling your money at the appropriate time.
Money is now very essential for someone’s life happiness, without money your life may not be as happy compared to those who are living with financial stability. However, it does not mean that once you’re unhappy, you fail to utilize your money well. There are some instances that money can’t buy happiness, even respect is not earn through money but it all started with self-respect and respect to other people before you can expect to be respected too.

actually money can give you happiness but according to your wants and needs depending on how you're going to spend it cause as of now people really need money in order to survive and provide our daily expenses. i agree to your opinion that money can buy anything aside from luxurious things that can give you a temporary happiness but how about spending it with your family and friends which it will give you more happiness than spending it alone.

More perfect and complete happiness is indeed born through family and friends, because humans are social creatures who always need other people in most ways so that their happiness will not feel perfect if someone only celebrates it alone. I also agree that money can give happiness and can also solve complicated problems into light ones, besides being able to use them to meet each other's personal needs.

But for this kind of thing, I've also seen someone who has a lot of money but he can't feel happiness after buying more things he doesn't need, meaning someone who can't use money on his own needs pokies won't find happiness like he wants even though he has a lot of money.
There are really some imbalances in life or something that talks about reality on which there are rich people who are really that lonely despite on having that richness.I do agree that human beings are social
creatures but there are ones who are introvert type which they dont really care should socialization and would really just prefer on doing something or be alone as long he has the money then he could really be able to do things that he do likes or wants. In speaking about happiness then it would really be varying into each person because not all would really be that having on the same things in mind on where
there are ones who are really that different.

Cant really be denied that money does play a huge role in our lives specially that people or humans are really that on that materialistic side on which things that could be bought or they do wish
is something that could bring out that happiness which i couldnt really blame on with. We do have our own likings and wishes in our minds which it is something that get attached with money.
It is really just that there are people who do really spend money on the wrong way but well its their money after all and its up to them on how they would gonna use it.
Its none of our business actually.

Money should make you happy but if it doesn't then you are probably spending it the wrong way. See the eight suggested principles to help anyone to be able to get happiness from their money.
  • buy more experiences and fewer material goods
  • use your money to benefit others rather than yourself
  • buy many small pleasures rather than fewer large ones
  • eschew extended warranties and other forms of overpriced insurance
  • delay consumption
  • consider how peripheral features of your purchases may affect your day-to-day life
  • beware of comparison shopping
  • pay close attention to the happiness of others

These suggestions are not mine but are from the scientific findings of EW Dunn et al. They are valid suggestions which even without reading have been practicing.  What are you take on these suggestions? Do you have more to add to what the researchers have discovered about this?

Choosing other people's happiness should be like achieving something, there is a saying that goes, "We rise by lifting others," and while doing your part to help others is not always simple, it brings you fulfillment. Since many people have done good deeds for me, I feel obligated to return the favor at least in an attempt to make the world a better place. The most painful aspect of this is that many people face hardships.

I believe that if we can manage how we spend money, it would truly help us very well and lower cost for us. One thing about we is that many of us don't have a scale of preference and waste money on things that are of no benefit to us. standard of living is seriously increasing to much bills to keep up with.

I will like to question point two, using my money to benefit others rather than myself, if this is meant at face value then I oppose that but for me, I will rather have it this way, that others should benefit from my money positively.

I don't have a bad spending habit. I used to set a budget and only purchase items that fell outside of it. Money can truly buy happiness, but spending more than you make simply to be happy is the wrong way to live. The only way to truly be happy and to be able to serve people in your capacity without incurring huge financial burdens is to be content. I concur that the principles you gave are excellent. Never forget that in order to prevent debt, you should only spend what is allowed by your budget.

Just like I previously mentioned in this thread, it literally can't buy but it can give you the mental cushion of being able to pay bills and not go broke and homeless. Having to buy what you want is one form of happiness that's why they called it "wants". It's to each of their own anyway so there is no really right or wrong way to live.

Regarding the debt stuff, some people are just willing to loan so that they can afford to have a good Credit Score and be able to apply for Mortgage. Don't quote me on it though as I never intended to loan. Just like what they said, if you can't buy it twice, you cannot afford it.

I can recall some stories of people in the internet just hiring escort to keep them pleasured and that's probably really a lonely life if I can see it.

I used to spend the money I made from my first job on wants and even unnecessary goods as long as they were in trend, but as time went on, I began to understand the value of effective financial management.
For the success of my scheduled events, I started budgeting and saving. I was in charge of taking in charge of our bills and other expenses. For us to ensure that our money is being handled properly and that our efforts while working are not wasted, responsible spending should become a habit.
Being happy doesn't need us to spend money on things that will make us happy, but a comfortable existence is something we should strive for by working hard and preparing for financial independence as we get older.

But there are really people that even they have set a budget limit on that instance they still can go over it. This really needs discipline on one self and you should have someone lets say you are already married that can control your from over spending because if you cant help your self then have your wife or husband help you but for sure if that is the time comes you are already mature enough on this which means you know the consequence when you go over the budget.

You are right and i am agree with you there are lots of people who spend some part of their money to help the needy and this is one of the most happiest moment of the life because you have everything so when others need it you should not avoid the happiness of others.

Sometimes people get happy by making others people happy and your problem become disappear automatically by helping others. Helping others is good idea but remembering them about your good deeds always is not a good idea because if you talk about your good deeds in front of needy they will become disappointed so always try to forget after giving something to those individuals who need them.

very interesting advice of course, because we often spend money not for interests that we really have to fulfill, and spend on things that we shouldn't buy, because we rarely use these items, don't even use them and only store them as display devices, we do have a way it's different in spending money to enjoy happiness but for me there are some things that we really don't do even though there is a little happiness but waste should also be a consideration, so I think all of these suggestions are very suitable for managing our finances and can be useful in our personal lives and also others.

Happiness will always depend on how you appreciate things regardless of its size or what, money is just an instrument but it will matter on how you will spend it. Remember that Money can be stressful, so know how to spend it wisely and live within your means.

There’s a lot of people who are not happy even if they have the money, I guess you need to seek professional advice and know how to live peacefully and happy. Spending money should not be an issue, appreciate small things matter as well.
Happiness is not measured by how much money or what we have in our homes. But happiness is measured by how much we can be grateful for what we already have and so we can think that we are lucky people who can have what we have now.

And if you've bought the wrong things just to pursue happiness, you should immediately stop and think about how you can change it so you don't go wrong. It depends on how you respond to that happiness because not many people can get it.

Money cannot buy happiness but it can buy us comfort and luxurious things which can give us happiness temporarily. I think happiness that comes from acquiring things is not sustainable and can be lost when you lose those things, in my opinion true long lasting happiness comes from within.
I agree with most of the list, time with family and friends is a better way to spend money, it’s a wonderful experience to have. I rather spend my money on people and not things.

In today's world, you really can't say money can't buy happiness because you can't be happy when your stomach growls. It only means money helps you being happy.

But I think there is no wrong way of spending your money unless you didn't share what you bought with someone you love. Be it your significant other or family members. You will not regret the money you spend when you shared it with them.
Money is not everything but it can be very vital to make us happy but never in the sense of contentment. After all, humans have no real satisfaction and real contentment in life. But you know what, it’s a different feeling when you start sharing your money even a little amount not just to your loved ones but even to those unfortunate people that you see around living their lives the hardest way. It won’t matter anymore if you spend your money the wrong way, as long as you care for others and share your blessings, your money will never go into waste.

Money DOES NOT buy happiness.  Many very rich people in this world are completely miserable.  Money can certainly help buy happiness, and obviously being financially stable helps make you a happier person by not being in need of next months rent check in a big way each month...but it doesn't guarantee happiness by any means.

I agree with some of these main points, but not all.
I don't agree, money does buy you happiness, those people who say they don't need money for living a happy life are simply lying to themselves. If one learns to live their life with the minimum resources that they have and kills their wishes and desires within themselves only because they don't have money, that's a different thing, and I wouldn't call you happy if you do that.

In a world like today where inflation is touching the sky, things are out of reach of a lot of people, you cannot say that you don't need money to be happy since one cannot stay happy if one can't fulfil the basic needs of their family.

Talking literally then money is really a crucial part because you cant really be able to do the following if you dont have money.

- You cant travel if you dont have money
- You cant buy things you do want if you dont have money
- You cant have a better life if you dont have money
- You cant able to do something in emergencies if you dont have money
- You cant buy neither wants or needs if you dont have money.

This is why its really not that right on being that conclusive when it comes to money cant buy happiness because it isnt really true.
It is really just that there are things which money cant buy but in most cases, we do really need it.

I really appreciate what the OP mentioned or suggested in the writing, he mentioned a lot almost eight or nine of them, but I love the number two and the last one most, use your money to benefit others rather than yourself and pay close attention to the happiness of others, Of course, if done in a good way, it will really be
a way for our neighbors to be happy if we use it to help or reach others because we are giving them help. When we pay close attention to our neighbors and friends are good, spending money with our children our friends, and  others are good and we will live happiest.
