PoW (Proof of Work)

PoS (Proof of Stake)

The most popular consensus mechanisms.

Proof of Stake protocols are gaining traction.

What about you, personally?

Are you mining, are you staking, or are you doing both? And why?

I told my friends that few projects are already leaving POW behind nd moving to POS for a reason that is unknown but i believe these projects devs must have a good reason for switching if not?why would they switch?

My experience with Prove of staking is easier and convenient than Prove of work to me,the reward is no doubt very low than mining PoW coins but all the same you can upgrade your POS rewards by buying more coins to add to your wallet for staking,if you have the money to build a mining farm why not consider POS instead? its more easier than POW

Staking is actually easier just as creating tokens is easier than building your own Blockchain.
I think proof works need new ideas & fine tuning and not discarding it. Proof of stake can easily be centralized and there are some other disadvantages. I wonder if you guys ever consider that kyc could make staking less anonymous in the future.

I'm staking a few different coins right now.  The current price is really low and volume is also low but I'm hoping they will soar to the sky someday.

I personally prefer staking, because to start minning requires a large enough cost. at least a compatible computer device for the minning software that will be used, and that is very expensive, coupled with the cost of electricity bills which is also quite high because the computer does not die during mining.

that's the reason why I prefer staking over minning.

I think I don't like both, which I think now I am more focused on getting profits in investing in ICO and one more thing I also prefer to trade. Because for me it's also a good way to make a profit.

Staking coins are winning the race of late and lots of attentions have shifted to these projects which offer dividends for its holders. The masternode coins offer this opportunity where an investor gain rewards for holding a certain number of the tokens for a certain period of time. Coins like DIVI, Bitrue, Smartfund, TELE etc use this strategy.

For me one activity is not enough. So even that it is hard to do, I do it the same. But I noticed that in doing mining I only earn only small amount or almost break even. But still I do it together with staking because I have dreams and goals that want to achieve. I also have a regular job. I believe that I can do it all because I am fully motivated.

The entry requirements for staking are much lower than for mining. You don't need expensive mining equipment, just hold some coins and you are good to go. And with mining you also rely on cheap energy costs to be profitable. That's why I am not mining anything at the current market situation.

I'm currently staking at Binance platform by simply holding the right altcoin and wait for 1month expecting to distribute the reward at the 5th of the month, last last year I'm starting to mining bitcoin and potential altcoin but this I stop to mined altcoin because of expenses and no guaranty you will get a good amount at altcoin.
What are you staking at Binance bro if you don't mind my asking. Is it Function X? I was staking Pundi X there and then airdrop was over.

I did not do both, but if I had to choose, I would prefer Mining. In my opinion and to my knowledge, PoW is more decentralized than PoS coins and also mining coin prices are higher than others. But I prefer to buy in the market because I do not have a large capital

This year, I am trying to stake some coins. Staking a coin is a new thing for me, and I try with the cheap coin price to see how it looks like. But if I read on many articles, staking can give another passive income to us if we can choose the right coins. And now, there are so many coins that we can choose to stake, but it is too difficult to find the right coins.

Now I prefer staking than mining, I feel is currently difficult to get profit from mining, especially the maintenance costs are getting bigger and mining income continues to decline, I will mining again if the price of bitcoin reaches at least $ 15k or ethereum $500.

I tried both before but now I don't do both (staking / mining), because in my opinion these two things are less interesting and also haven't found a decent coin to do staking. but if in terms of cost or the like staking is certainly a good choice because the cost is very cheap.

I no longer do BTC and ETH mining using the POW method, I switched to POS such as BTB and RDD, because it uses far less electricity, is more environmentally friendly and does not require mining expertise. does have some disadvantages, but that's what I can afford.

If there is a good chance of a promising coin or token, then I'm staking. It's quite simple, but the profit is also very dependent on funds. I am not interested in mining, for me, the process is very complicated and requires qualified ability to manage it, the capital is also quite large. That is why I am more interested in cloud mining, while still doing analysis.

I'm a hardcore fan of POS algorithm, I do more of staking presently.  Staking doesn't require tools and also no energy requirements like mining. Staking (especially free staking which doesn't need masternode) gives fair dividends just for holding the coin and that's cool by me. Mining is not so profitable for small miners, that's the issue.

I prefer coins with staking. I think they are more promising than coins with mining. I plan to launch a node of one interesting project.I believe in this project. I think he is very promising.

I used to mine a bit but it was very difficult to get any reward even with coins that were aimed for those with very cheap mining gear like CPU or HDD coins.

The only thing left for me is staking. I also think that new services that offer staking wallets that reward you for holding money with them are the easiest way to profit from staking especially if your investment portfolio is still small.
