As I have notice except the free online service of ViaBTC and the 'delay' column of bitcoinfees.21.co in weekends the unconfirmed transactions are less than the rest days of the week. Therefore, the fees are significantly lower and I prefer weekends for this reason.
Haven't noticed that, maybe because I don't move my coins that much these days. (but I'd keep it in mind and check it out)

Never gone anywhere below 250 per byte since the year started. Last year I think the lowest I went was maybe 180/byte.

When I need a quick confirmation, I aim for bitcoinfees21's cheapest and fastest, at whichever has the lowest unconfirmed tx's.
When a tx is not urgent, then it's usually at the 250-300/byte range (the lowest of the yellow bars.never the orange ones. ^^)
When I make a mistake calculating my tx size and it ends up on the 10-20 blocks range, then I use the accelerator. It usually works.

Why pay the high fees even if I could wait days? Because I don't like my transactions(money/btc) stuck. They could be in wallets, storage, or even in cash, but never stuck in between.

And yeah, sometimes I feel it's a waste, but still.

Blockchain.info wallet implemented "priority" and "regular" fee. Last night I sent $200 worth with $8 fee and it got confirmed in 1.5 hrs.

Do you think it's fair with the transaction you did with them? $8 fee is a very big amount and 1.5 hours isn't that fast with that fee.

I will guess that it is a priority fee, I've been using blockchain.info with their regular and recommended fee.

I haven't tried to adjust the fees and there's no problem to me, it's not even getting delayed for so many hours just like others are complaining.
honsastly i think there is no point in paying high fees, you should only pay fees if you really need your transaction to get faster otherwise you are wasting your money, because reight now everyone is paying fees which means all transactions have the same priority so it is going to take the same time for them to preocess it as if we did pay regural fees

Well most of us wants a fast transaction but that's a good point, if you are not rushing to receive those bitcoins just use the normal fee.

The fees now are getting higher and higher and the exchange are adjusting it to increased amount, I don't understand this.

But if you are calm and you can wait it's your decision to increase or not your fees.

Currently using the lowest fee possible to transfers my bitcoins within the next 1-6 blocks. Due to the price of bitcoin right now, I'm more conservative into checking thinga and the fees that I'm inputting. Also, it would be a pain in the arse if you keep in waiting for a transaction only for it to be dropped by the network because of insanely low fees.

No, I am not using low fees, most of my payment are to send big amount of bitcoin so that I need to make sure my transaction is ok.
Moreover, sending a big amount of fees can keep miners continue on their works that keeps Bitcoin work well

I don't know, as I am using Poloniex Bitcoin wallet so that Bitcoin fee is always the same everytime I send Bitcoin.
And I think using a wallet that enable you to send a fixed fee is better, you don't need to worry about your transactions

Last time I used normal fees was quite long ago. In the last few months, I always use fees hefty enough for next block confirmation, mainly because when I spend Bitcoins, I spend them to buy something and next block confirmation are always welcome in these cases.
I get the point that the fees have a different time lapse in terms of its price so if you want your transaction to be fast you need to choose on a much high fee but if you did not need for a much faster money you can choose to pay a low price fee. And for me I suggest to make your transaction less but more capacity because in this at you can lessen the fee in a more faster transaction.

Sometimes when I withdraw BTC to my wallet, I set really low fees like 50-70 satoshi per byte and wait for weeks, because I'm not going to spend those coins in the near future anyway. I think it's a good way to save a bit of money, because if you look back, you might realize that your fees have added up to a big amount in USD value, while it wasn't always necessary to get those coins confirmed asap.
So, do you use low fees, or always want to get confirmation in a next few blocks?
As long as your bitcoin received than it doesn't matter. I don't use small fees, just a sufficient amount to get my transaction confirmed but normal fees still have to wait for several days due too many unconfirmed transaction on waiting list. Well, I don't mind to pay 120-200 satoshi per byte, but some people suggest to increase fees until 220 satoshi.

I am using low fee because as normal, It does not effect to my transactions, it is still confirmable.
But when I send a bigger amount of Bitcoin, I usually use a bigger fee because I need to make sure that my transactions are confirmed well.

Well im not using big fees at all, all my transactions has been made with 50-65k satoshis those are taking a few more hours then the usual time when there werent the delays at the blockchain, since im not in rush to get and make the transactions i can wait, but doesnt make sense to pay a premium fee to make my transactions.

In my opinion 50k satoshi fees are already high. If you refer to a transaction last few months ago that might only around minutes to be confirmed. I think that this is becoming a crisis already. Merchants will get bankrupt if this continues and became more worse
Now, 50k satoshi fees is not good if you want get confirm fast after 5 blocks, my setting fee always from 200 sat/byte

Yes, I am using low fee, because I usually send a small amount of Bitcoin so that paying 1$ just for sending 5$ is something really weird.
I know miners have to take fees to earn their living but I have no choice so that I have to send Bitcoin with low fee

Unless I really do not want to use the money soon, because currently with something below 100s/b you won't get confirmed in a while (and few days ago, never), and the TX might even get cleared and then you need to rebroadcast it, I mean unless it's absolutely cold storage, that's not a good idea.

No I am using Blockchain wallet, and its fees aren't low, it is somehow high , but I am ok with it because the transaction get confirmed in short amount of time , so no problem even if the fee is high.

For this particular transaction, https://blockchain.info/tx/c7c8fcfe061cb44a2c44de54a055862c8e97c3f7a7184f3087bed74e18c5d328

Blockchain recommended a fee of 0.0038, I just sent it with 47 sat/B and got it confirmed with ViaBTC within couple of hours. If it is not an emergency transaction, using a fee of 0.0002 BTC is enough to get it confirmed eventually.

Now the current situation has forced some wallets and exchanges to setup a fixed minimum or standard fee, up to 0.003, equivalent of $8, users who want to withdraw small amounts would not agree with these fees . Kraken has just increased their fee to 0.0025 and now I have altogether stopped using Xapo. Glad there are still exchanges in India with a fixed fee of 0.0005 and fast confirmations.

there is a big different before bitcoin price was pretty high currently i have to think about the fees too because to get fast confirmations i have to spend more bitcoin indeed that was very burdensome but as the bitcoiners i have to accept this however some people recommend for the current fees might be not less than 200 sat/B

Well although am not using high fees because the fact is i'm using my poloniex account to send some BTC. Upon as what am using poloniex is becuase they just have small fees (10k sats). And the best is it's too easy and not taking too long to confirmed it.

I would aslo prefer to use low fees even if it takes a long time because since I don't need that money immediately. Compared in recent fees today is much higher and I think it is because of the hiking price of bitcoin.
