OK.  If I vote with 30,000 ARK, does anyone else have access to my coins including the delegate?  I'm trying to figure out if holding all your coins on a delegate thing is a security risk.

No, the coins are yours and yours alone. But they only count as votes as long as you keep them in the wallet you voted with.

i'm really curious to check the ARK price tomorrow morning!!!
I think the price should not change...
who had collected coins to become a delegate or to vote and get shares... it already done it.
but never say never..

Thanks, that really helped.

So if I vote using all my ARK - let's say it's 30,000 ARK coins - does that mean I give away 30,000 ARK so I won't have any ARK coins left?  I'll have to wait for the small rewards to make my ARK coins back?  Wouldn't that take many years?

You get to keep the ARK in your wallet. The vote transaction itself costs 1 ARK (everytime you unvote and vote for someone else it's 1 ARK, so don't change your mind too often). If you transfer some/all ARK out of the wallet, you decrease the amount of votes this wallet is generating.

Imagine it like getting interest to your balance on a bank account. If you take the money out, there's no more interest.

OK, I read some of those links about being a delegate or voting but I still don't really understand what I'm doing.  I also read this link: https://blog.ark.io/lets-forge-some-ark-rewards-kick-in-at-block-75-600-abe2e7bf2b98

It says the more ARK I have, the more I can use for voting power/percentage or something?  Voting for what though?  If I vote using 30,000 ARK coins, does that mean I'm giving away 30,000 ARK coins to the delegate guy?  And in exchange I'll receive a very small percentage back every month?

I don't really understand any of this or why I would want to do this...Can someone shed some more light please?

P.S.  I cannot sign up to Slack to get more info because it says I must be invited:
"Don't have an account on this team yet?
Contact the team administrator for an invitation"

Being a delegate means you run a server that serves as a relay node and secures the network by handling the transactions and creating blocks. Kind of like bitcoin miners do. And for every block they create, one of the 51 delegates with the most votes gets 2 ARK. Again, kind of like bitcoin miners do. This is something left for people who know the system pretty well. Leave it for now.

How can you participate? You can vote. An you literary vote with your wallet.

Click on the vote option and add your favorite delegate (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NetVbCbFJcQ by heliohash) and vote for him.

The full list is here: https://www.arknode.net/VoteReport.txt and details here: https://explorer.ark.io/delegateMonitor

In return for your vote, you get a fraction of the reward (forged ARK) proportional to how much ARK you have in the wallet you voted with.
Lets say you have 30.000 ARK in your wallet. The delagate has 300.000 ARK votes. You get 10% of the reward.

Of course most delegates don't give 100% of the reward back to the voters. Here's the presentations of many delegates: https://forum.ark.io/category/5/delegates Choose who you wish to support.

Voting for a pool gives you ark reward from the delegate you vote for.

if you start a pool I will add it to my list.

If you vote for any of these delegates, you will get ARK from their forging.

1: read their website or link and do your own research.
2: true forever from ARK but trust is up to YOU and the POOL Owner to get the forged ARK tokens from them.  ARK is not responsible for the honorability of the pool operator.
3: pick from these delegates or come read more at our forum https://forum.ark.io
4: you vote only once and it will stay like that until you un-vote or spend the tokens in your wallet

Forging starts in less than 24h!
Is there any minimum Ark holding requirement  to become Ark delegate And for starting a pool ?
Can we switch the delegate after unvoting?

at the moment.. to become a Forger delegate you need at least 14 btc to collect 200000ark (7000sat each) and mine in solo...
if you are able to collect vote... you can rise delegate ranking without BIG ARK amount

I can see there's no way for me to make it to top 51 delegates by the time forging begins.

What are the benefits of joining/voting a delegate?  It says the more ARK I have, the more I can use for voting power/percentage or something?  If I vote using 30,000 ARK coins, does that mean I'm giving away 30,000 ARK coins to the delegate guy?  And in exchange I'll receive a very small percentage back every month?

1 https://www.arknode.net/VoteReport.txt - to get the current list and how much you need to get into 51 active delegates (this is constantly changing of course)
2. You can vote / un-vote as much as you like - every vote or un-vote costs 1 ARK - read more here : https://blog.ark.io/how-to-vote-or-un-vote-an-ark-delegate-and-how-does-it-all-work-819c5439da68

Anyone know a fix or reason why I'm getting Invalid Transaction Timestamp on the ark 1.0.2 64bit windows client?

@Rion make sure your computer time and date is set to update using the internet. Then restart your wallet.
Ah, I was hoping it wasn't that, because for some reason I don't have permission to sync my own time. Looks like I'll have to install the client on a separate machine.

That is the solution to the problem, try on another machine.

Also it would be great if the error description would be clearer. Something like: "Y U no sync computer clock!? It show bad time! No good for Ark!" Wink

P.S. What's up with the explorer page? Looks broken, can't use the search. The status bar displays placeholders: "Height: {{blockStatus.height}} · Supply: {{blockStatus.supply | ark | number:0}} · Nethash: {{blockStatus.nethash | nethash}}"
