It seams that is public land owned by the government

Then the things are a little bit more complex. If the land was actually owned by the rancher, then legally he had the right to use that for grazing. But the truth is, after all it is public land and the government will decide what to do with it.

It seams that is public land owned by the government, and who use it need to pay tax..... this is what the Bureau of Land Management says .
In 1993, the federal government began requiring ranchers to pay grazing fees for cattle raised around Bunkerville, Nevada. The change occurred after the desert tortoise was put on the endangered list and and the Bureau of Land Management decided a tax would dissuade ranchers from grazing their cattle where they could hurt the tortoises.

Do anyone know about the legal status of the ranch he is claiming? Some people are saying that it is government land and the rancher don't have any rights over it. Others are saying that he inherited the ranch.

What is the government hiding or intending to hide in Nevada that they must have control of the land and the people?

The confrontation, captured on video, resulted in one protester, the rancher’s son, being hit with a stun gun while another, the rancher’s daughter, was pushed to the ground. One woman said federal officials struck her with their vehicle.

A Great Time to Start Something!

Earlier in the day, BLM and park rangers had tasers ready to go as they faced a few dozen protesters.

One woman claims federal officers hit her with their vehicle. A man says he was tased twice. In just a matter of minutes, the situation escalated from calm to angry with the protestors shouting and the rangers ready to respond with dogs, tasers and physical force, if needed.

At the center of this battle is the Bundy family and their herd of at least 500 head of cattle. The BLM says the cattle have been allowed to graze on the federal land illegally for the past 20 years.

“You want to tase me? Go ahead,” Ammon Bundy challenged rangers.

He is the son of rancher Cliven Bundy and he claims the rangers tased him twice.

The protesters came within inches of law enforcement trying to get the BLM to leave a section of the public land. The Bundy family says it’s willing to put itself in danger for their livelihood. They claim federal rangers are killing their cattle in the process of rounding them up.

“There’s only one reason they have a backhoe and a dump truck up there and that is because they’re cleaning up their mess from killing our animals,” Ammon Bundy said.

The ranchers say this is calving season and mother cows are being separated from their babies.

“They haven’t been able to feed their calves and that means the calves are starving to death,” Ammon Bundy said.

The BLM has denied killing any cattle intentionally, only saying that there may be some cases where a cow would need to be euthanized.

I saw a Youtube video of this last night (mostly a waste of time)
Let's hope the situation does not get a lot worse.

It happens not only in America , but all over the world .......

It happens much more in America as compared to other nations. Incidents such as this have never been heard from the country in which I live. But I have heard almost a dozen or so incidents from the US.

He is getting a lot of support from the local population. But have to wait to see whether the authorities will use force. If I am not wrong, Nevada is ruled by Democrats, right?

The "empty parts" of the state are strongly Republican (even many libertarians), and Vegas/Reno I'm not sure.

A Great Time to Start Something!
A Ruby Ridge-style standoff is brewing in Nevada, where dozens of armed federal agents are closing in on cattle rancher Cliven Bundy over claims that Bundy has allowed his cows to graze illegally on government land, endangering a protected species of tortoise.

Vowing to take a stand for, “your liberty and freedom,” Bundy says he is prepared to be killed as authorities surround a 600,000 acre section of public land as a result of Bundy violating a 1993 Bureau of Land Management ruling which changed grazing rights in order to protect the endangered desert tortoise.

“With all these rangers and all this force that is out here, they are only after one man right now. They are after Cliven Bundy. Whether they want to incarcerate me or whether they want to shoot me in the back, they are after me. But that is not all that is at stake here. Your liberty and freedom is at stake,” Bundy said.

Bundy’s refusal to recognize federal authority over the land under dispute and his failure to pay tens of thousands of dollars in grazing fees stems from his assertion that his family’s history trumps bureaucracy.

“My forefathers have been up and down the Virgin Valley ever since 1877. All these rights I claim have been created through pre-emptive rights and beneficial use of the forage and water. I have been here longer. My rights are before the BLM even existed,” Bundy said.

I hope they do not kill him...
