This is fantastic!

More variance, but no pool fees. This also helps out with BTCGuild's situation of being in possession of too much hashing power.

Forgive my ignorance on the technicalities of mining but does that mean the possibility of starting your own pool? Will there be a document/sheet being updated live for shareholders to see? I'm sure other maybe wondering the same thing

One of BTCGuild's servers was unavailable for a while (I've got some machines directed there). Eleuthria had to run a large SQL query to fix a PPLNS shift. It's been back up for a bit though.

Yes, strange. Its back at 1.8TH. I hope no Asics are broken and only a fuse broke or something like that.

Just guessing, but they were at 7.2 TH/s before the upgrade and just over 9 TH/s last I saw. 1.8TH or more is in the new location and is probably online. The old location is probably being migrated to a new pool, under maintenance, or some sort of power/internet outage.

Would be good if thats the case but i doubt a bit that they move it this way. It would be better to move 1TH or so at a time. Thats why i think something happened. So that they now start again deploying slowly.

Agree it doesn't need to be an hour. Anyone that keen to get on board at the cheapest price will be watching live - anyone who wants to bid and forget needs to just bid their maximum price and walk away. Five minutes would be heaps, I think.

I have seen auctions that are run like that, and 5-10 minutes would probably let the auction finish faster than delaying one hour. But the value of mining equipment is very time-sensitive (the longer you have to wait until the auction ends, the less valuable they are and hence the less you should bid for them!), and a lot of care would need to be taken so the rules couldn't be gamed.
