Crypto is the separation of Power and State.
The amazing thing about small products is that you can charge a lot more hashrate wise. People want a cute USB ASIC miner, and even if it's four times the price per MH as other ASIC offerings or what there will still be a lot of people who buy it.

My God.  You must be one of those marketing geniuses about which we hear so much.

By far the cutest thing I have ever seen. When can I buy a dozen?

Q.E.D.

AM should play this to the hilt.  PenguinMiner, PandaMiner, etc.

ya know, at current difficulty, these make about .66 btc a month. at the current exchange (122 on gox, yea, i know. been a wild week.) that means, even at a cost of $75 per unit, they'd pay themselves off in a month.

the only problem i see, looking at this, is that with that width and height of the heatsink, it would be impossible to get two of them side by side without skipping a usb port.

Does seem a little odd to produce a device slower than a good (2 year old) GPU or FPGA device.

Yes I do realise the chips in both ASICs (ASICMINER and Avalon) are slower than a good GPU or FPGA, but the point of them is that there are lots and cost less per MH/s and use less power per MH/s

Connecting 10 devices to a computer via USB is gonna be problematic for some - USB cables need to be good quality and so do the hubs
There are a lot of cheap crappy USB hubs out there - especially when the hubs need to supply power to 10 devices ...

Its not slower. Devices are not measured in MH/s, they are measured in MH/s per watt.

That device uses 2.5 watts. A GPU that does 300 mhash uses 125-150 watts. The reason GPUs are becoming unprofitable is not because they are slow, but because cost of power usage exceeds the value of the coins.

Looks at this usb device..

Looks at my avatar ...

Looks at this usb device again...

Falls to the ground and starts laughing uncontrollably!

oh totally agreed. i'd happily pay well over 16.50... anything for hashes.

as someone currently mining with just over 300 mhash in video cards (well, a video card...) and WAY too broke to buy an avalon or more AM shares (i have 1 though!) i had been afraid my only option would be a bfl jalapeno. this could change everything.

does anyone have a realistic guess to price? i know bfl is advertising a jalapeno for 275 for 5 ghash... if my math is right (don't count on it!) thats about 5 cents per mhash. that would leave this at 16.50 USD for 300 mhash... is that even remotely possible? i honestly don't know.

note i'm not saying it SHOULD cost that much. i'm asking if it COULD.

The difference between Asicminer and BFL is that Asicminer will only sell units that are ready to ship, and ship them immediately.  The price will be much much higher, but you know the hashrate will be reasonable by the time you receive your product.

Crypto is the separation of Power and State.
USB 2.0 allows max 500mA (USB 3, 900mA). That is 2.5 watts max, for the hashrate of a 150W 5830. I think you just invented your own money press; name your price.

IKR?  *buys moar AM-PT*

Love at first sight !

Can just see these growing out of USB ports the world over ... like little replicators, seemingly sprouting from nowhere to infest computer gear  Cheesy

If you put an aluminum case around this (just like a USB memory stick), you might not need the heatsink (if you can make a thermal connection between IC and PCB to the case).

Or go for some heavy armor Wink

I'd love to buy like 100 of those, lol.

Ideally, there'd be "higher end" models as well, since that's a large number of USB ports used...

D'aww.  The littlest ASIC of all.  Ain't she adorable?   Cry

Almost as cute as Tulip Bubble Goldbug ( http://imgur.com/vViVm6M )

Still hoping for something bigger, with higher profit margins and obscene consulting fees.

100TH ASiCMiNER CHAiNFORKER assembly line

I call this "The Chain Fornicator"!

I would love to buy a couple of those usb miners. Some to mine with and some to just show off to people saying... yup.... I invested in the awesome people that made these  Roll Eyes

I haven't been interested in mining since the GPU's took over, but I want one of these.  RIGHT....NOW!!

any ETA on delivery?

What is the price?

If I would like to buy 100 of these will you ship?

Wow, I lol'd. With 5 bucks and a trip to RadioShack I can produce you an exact replica of whatever the heck this is. Give us picture of your supposedly "real" facility where all the supposedly "real" equipment resides. This will "surely" convince us you are for real!

my vote is on idiot
Perhaps illiterate.   Or, lazy and he did not read the first 158 pages of the string and has no idea who he is calling conmen?
