Honest 80s business!
Wow I did not forsee ASICMINER go that low and end as a venture like this...... I am glad I exited at 0.15, At least whatever I had left, I got the principle, Since I am an IPO investor.

So how can we get REAL information about what happened to Friedcat?

By getting the Chinese Government to ask the questions.

Well if AM was really stealing electricity, or unknowingly did so (by paying rates that are ridiculously low) they may be looking for him as we speak. But apart from that... I don't know... allegedly scamming investors in an unregulated virtual company?...

this is actually really depressing... the one and only shining beacon of the securities section proved, after all, to be just like all the others.

worst of all, lambchops was right  Roll Eyes

only thing left to do is cry  Cry

now, more importantly, how do I unsubscribe from thread updates??

Yeah, it's depressing. I also though that lamby being right just makes the whole thing *so much* worse. You can just hit 'unsubscribe' at the top of the thread, right on top of the first post of a page.

I can't find it... all I have is watch/unwatch and notify ?? Neither of those seem to save me

So you already hit 'unwatch' so it now says 'watch'? Well do you have any remaining notifications in your profile settings active? If no, it may be BTCTalk rubbing some salt into the wound :/

I guess the only thing left for us to do is wait for him to show up / be found. Maybe the digging done by those who put a bounty on his head also pushes things forward, but I don't approve of those measures.

I'm not an AM fanboy, I was an AM shareholder.

When have you liquidated your shares?

Well hopefully (for him) quite some time ago. Right now it really doesn't seem to make any sense to liquidate any more. It's just a penny stock now and a big gamble on an improbable resurrection at some point in the future!

Chips weren't ordered because there was no money to pay for the order.  Attempts at securing necessary funds failed. So the order was never placed due to the lack of funds.

This information should've been released for all shareholders. Keeping this secret is a bad thing for everyone. Another fail from AM.

Canary, I have always found you to be an honest person.  So I put some weight in what you say.  That said...

Have you seen any actual proof that the wafer order was not made, or is this all hearsay?
And if you saw no proof, is it not plausible that you were misinformed, whether that was malicious or not?

Edited to add.  The last we were all told IIRC, was that there was enough btc / money available to keep us going even with a depressed btc price for quite some time.

Well I think Jutarul - who is a board member also said something along those lines. I think a couple of pages ago he revealed what the board actually knows and it doesn't look too good.

Learning the troll avoidance button :)

Q) With regards to the AM situation, could you elaborate on the what HashLord is and the role it played in AMHash?
A) I am sorry for the potential confusion. Hashlord was coined in reference to Landlord as the entity who is in control of the hashing power. At the current time it is not clear WHO that entity really was (Operator/AM/RM/FC/Third party). Obviously the operator can always become the Hashlord by replugging the mining devices. That may have been the case - but there is no data to confirm that.

Regards

I was curious what the heck a Hashlord was but It makes sense it was the one controlling the Hash
Also nice nickname he-he sounds like a Magic the Gathering GM
Fear the Hashlord
Anyways thanks for taking the time to answer those Q@A's

Actually I find it strange that everyone is ignoring the fact that FC didn't place a wafer order before his disappearance. He was supposed to have chips in hand in February so the order was supposed to be placed in December or early January. This never happened, yet nobody is complaining about this. If we ignore all the recent facts the problem is still there. They never intended to have miners with BE300 chip. Not on this financial situation.

Right. The order should have been placed in the 2nd week of December 2014 after the BE300s had been successfully tested in single and multi-chip board configurations. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/asicminer-be300s-samples-arrived-02wg-achieved-at-board-level-888260

Chips weren't ordered because there was no money to pay for the order.  Attempts at securing necessary funds failed. So the order was never placed due to the lack of funds.

If this is true, the game was up last year already. All this shady disappearance / empty office / stolen farm business is just kabuki theater.

100% true and if this was information that board members had access to, then I would like to know if these members sold shares based on this priveliged information.

Lets play along.. Let's say they knew, it wouldn't change anything at all. Unregulated securities are just that.
