all we can do is wait for some more info.

do you guys rly think there is that there is so much *insider only*info going on

History tells us yes, AM info leaks out via "webgirls" and resellers before it reaches this "official" forum.

dam i guess i have to keep an eye out, on more than just posts from FC

One thing I do think though is I always presumed this current share prize "boom" was based on some inside info about the tapeout. Seemed rational to me....

If that isn't the case, and it was simply people seeing the 20th January date looming nearer and pour money back into AM, then I can only conclude:

a) Some people are real dumbasses, and
b) If FC doesn't issue a statement before Friday, the share price will be back to 0.50 or lower without a problem by the weekend

Also, unfortunately...  We went to order some random cables from China this week and today they told us they were taking off for their holiday (Chinese New Year).  They said they'd be back in the office Feb 8th.  This may apply to many of the suppliers and services they may need to use in the next few weeks.  So they might not only be able to start working mid-Feb.  But... Again, I have no idea what I'm talking about, just going from common sense really.
Right. Manufacturers will close for 3-7days in the Chinese New Year. That's the legal holiday week.

Doesn't stop them working now though. And you can't force people not to work at "legal holiday" time. I'm sure FC is more interested in making millions that taking 7 days off.
So, I said 3-7days. It depends on FC's management idea and the impetus of employee. A big rest before the real battle is just reasonable.
Calm down. Don't let our imagination run wild.

I'm not worried. I'm suggesting that AM are working, not taking extended vacations just because some random cable supplying company in China gives a bs excuse about not being able to deliver on time - the two are completely unconnected Smiley

I know lots of Chinese people in Thailand .... they take a couple of days off - certainly don't stop work for a month Smiley

dividends have been dropping but share price rising?

What information do I not have? or is market volume too shallow to even consider.

I can tell you've been "off the grid" for a while Smiley

I'll keep this short. Share price is rising in anticipation of Gen3 hardware ... coming "soon" Smiley

Also a lot of the hardware they have put out has seen different revisions.  I think the USBs went through a few different versions before the Sapphire release which rocked, even the Cube that came out has different revs of miniblades...  Even the firmware on the Cube takes time to put together.  This is new gen to them, so I don't think they'll be able to hammer off boards this weekend but they will probably be pushing as hard as they can.  I know that when I buy a next gen Block Erupter I'll want it to be thoroughly tested and tuned!

I'm loving the name, mc_lovin, one of my favorite films, but I'm not sure what "ordering some random cables from China" has to do with AM working on next-gen chips. I humbly suggest the two are not connected. I'd also suggest you get your cables elsewhere because your "cable guys" are pulling a fast one Wink

Bitcoin is new, makes sense to hodl.
If tapeout is now how is it possible to see hardware in march?
I'm interested in this too

They can have chips today, but they haven't got actual physical hardware in hand yet.  They would need to develop boards, tune them, and send the final designs to get mass produced.  I can't see this process being under a month.

I really have no idea what I'm talking about but chips =/= hardware.  Successful tapeout is AMAZING news but that doesn't mean they will be on a shelf at a store near you tomorrow.  They still need to get the rest of it sorted out.  Be mid-Feb at the earliest unless they are magicians.

I thought tapeout means the design is to submit to factory by such date,

I'm chinese. Still no confirmed news about the tapeout.
But the ASICMiner team will attend the China Bitcoin Summit 2014, which hold by UBM Group & Bitfund.pe. April 19-20, still in preparation.
I got a publicity last weekend. ASICMiner is on the VIP list.

First time to meet the public. Wink

I would not expect an update from friedcat today.  In the past we have always gotten an update a few days after major dates like this pass, and only rarely did we get info same day.  In other words... do not panic when its the 21st and there is no news.

Yeah, it wasn't guaranteed Jan.20th tapeout.  That was the estimated date.  I expect new hardware late February - early March at the earliest.  But I sure anticipate a friedcat post Smiley
