With a 2.5% APR, that's a potential share price of 1.71BTC...

A downpayment towards Gen3 is quite possible, good thinking. FC has been actively seeking out new mining partners for a few weeks now. Makes total sense.

Looks like the last address is what the guy was talking about.

Strange I've never noticed that address and yet it has been pretty constantly adding to the div address.

Anyone know the source of these coins? Maybe franchising? I couldn't imagine that is all from cube sales.

downpayments of some sort?

cheers - thanks for link - we'll see tomorrow if AM really do pay out 330 BTC - kinda strange at this stage in the cycle but not worth complaining about Smiley

Which addresses are you monitoring to find these coins. Its a very large number. Certainly didn't come from mining this week Wink

Maybe just some Cube-sales that will be used to fill up the next 2, 3, 4 weeks. But an interesting find!

For those who haven't seen this yet:
There has been a board meeting and friedcat answered questions we collected and submitted to him. Also a big thank you to Jutarul, who helped us getting them through and inform us about the other topics discussed during the meeting.

..So I am assuming the existing mining farms will be converted to gen3 (should be easy considering the liquid cooled racks were designed to be upgradable) and AM may or may not build new farms on top of that.

ok, thanks for clarification. I can see how I may have misread "pure chip distribution" to mean something different that it more likely does

FC just said "moving more" to chip distribution. That's because with Gen1 it was an afterthought and they ended up selling those strange blades and cubes "ad hoc". With Gen3, the plan is mine whatever they can manage themselves, and shift just as many chips as they can manage to other *large* mining operations.

why does everyone ignore the comment by friedcat made here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.3901066

"It is a safe bet that we will be moving more to pure chip distribution."

mining may not even happen with gen3

Its a safe bet mining will happen. You really think FC is going to leave gen1 chips running in the datacenters while gen3 is being sold?

I'm quoting friedcat directly, and if the speculation that AM members are involved in mining operations elsewhere is perhaps true, then there is extra motivation NOT to mine with gen3 under the AM banner.

I don't have a strong assumption either way, what happens will happen, I'm just wonder why people generally ignore the comment that friedcat himself made and believe that we will definitely continue mining when he stated that there is a chance we may not.

Moving towards more pure chip distribution does not mean they will not be mining and selling complete asics.

To quote FC directly

Quote
Full devices from ASICMiner are definitely going to exist on the form of samples and small batches. ASICMiner may also build new mining farms based on new chips. Unsliced wafers may also be available for sale. But the main business direction is to provide packaged chips.

So I am assuming the existing mining farms will be converted to gen3 (should be easy considering the liquid cooled racks were designed to be upgradable) and AM may or may not build new farms on top of that.
