~ 11 EUR, insured up to 500EUR and with tracking. (DHL)

ok this information was false
insured up to 500 €:

European union -> € 15
Europe without the EU -> 28 €

By request, I can ship uninsured
But then, at the risk of the recipient.

At this point, 1BTC per unit would be about fair considering it's a bulk order. 2BTC would be aprox. retail price. And that's now, in a few months with difficulty shooting up it could be much worse.

At this price I would get myself 4 or 5 right now, just for the novelty and to help spread mining. I can afford all 300 but I think it's not a good price and it would be much worse in August...

i agree completely. with this being effectively a whole sale price, it's a bit steep.

maybe we'll get lucky and when friedcat and co see this reaction they'll ...act? i don't know.

no worries. way i figure it, gotta start somewhere. and with this power usage, i'll happily run it forever.

but yea, for anyone trying to profit on mining, this is perhaps not the best way to go.

All ASICMINER products that have been auctioned off thus far have been borderline scams at the prices they're going at. I know.. they were auctions.. but still, 75 BTC for 10Gh.. now 3 BTC for 300Mh (or however fast their chip is).

No thanks. They are just making money from suckers... people that don't understand the economics and the inevitable explosion of difficulty that will come in the next few month.

This is just a novelty IMO. No serious Bitcoin miner should pay these prices.

Quite right on one count.  These are not for serious mining.  These are ""a thousand points of light" (If I can quote George Bush the 1st).  They will help spread the gospel of bitcoin far and wide.  Imagine a hipster with his laptop in a bar with his friends, buying a round of drinks with the profits from this little USB thingy with an LED?  Priceless.  They tell all their friends.  Now multiply this little scene 10,000 times.

Easily worth 1.99 to a lot of people.  Just not serious miners.

german do not like to speak english ? 68/300 already... nice.
i just checked 300 is the minimum ... not a fixed limit. so i might join.

English is not the problem.
But insured shipping from Germany is expensive

EDIT:

Would that include also the countries outside EU but in Europe?

I have to check each country individually.

At BTC2 - no freaking way.

...
The quantity of each order should be more than 300 devices.
...

yea... wait, are you implying they mean 300 for 1.99 btc? there's no way in hell. admittedly, the posting doesn't clarify this. but realistically, that'd be a unit price of ~.006 btc, which is roughly 70 cents, USD. not possible.

now, assuming i'm wrong on what you mean - minimum order of 300 x 1.99 btc = 597 btc exactly. ...wow. that's insane, when you realize avalon sells 10,000 chips (33times more chips, but bare chips) for 780 btc.

right. this price is fubar'd.

Yes i also understood it like this: 300 x 1.99 btc = 597 btc

I think that it's a bit overpriced for the hash/s. Especially if you consider the fact that difficulty will rise significantly in the following months.

i guess group buys should be organised by location.

I guess too many groupbuys will be a problem because of the spread of payments that could lead to no one reach the price for 300 units. I think it there are 3 GB, one in America, one Asia and one Europe could work out probably.
