yea, it's cool. i won't be shipping out this first batch til tomorrow.

Speaking of shipping tomorrow, it would probably be a good idea to ask your post office what their cutoff time is for domestic Express Mail.  At my post office it's 1:30 PM.  Any Express Mail shipments not received before the cutoff time will not arrive the next day, but the day after.

Damn. Wish I was quicker before this thread filled up. I'm guessing no one wants to sell any of theirs?  2.25?

ELAZAR

I purchased 3 miners.  Once I found out the were shipping, I quickly did some research and I figured a raspberry PI would be the best thing to control these...

All things being equal, I would imagine the computer you typed that post from would be the best thing to control them. Not sure why you want to complicate matters further by bringing a Pi into the mix, other than gaining hacking experience.

Yeah, that is part of the interest.... gaining experience.  This rig, is a big gaming rig that produces a lot of heat so thats the other reason... so I would prefer the small cool pi.

Another factor is to power a mining system "off the grid" as a proof of concept.

Again, anyone that plans to run their USB's on a pi, let me know your setup.

THEY'RE HERE!

of course... i can't seem to get it to mine... plugged one in to a usb port on my pc, green LED comes on, attempts and fails to install a driver - CP210x UART bridge. windows then linked me to the download for the driver which is got and installed.

upon running cgminer, it acts no differently then it did yesterday. is there some option i need to use to tell it to go check the USB ports or something?

Hooray!  Better than Christmas!

To be fair and effective, I think it would be best to ship before playing, (the more people troubleshooting the better)
I guess it is fair to send to those who ordered 10+ first from the first batch, and sent the remaining in order of payment received.

Here's a build of BFGMiner master for use with these.
Just throw it in the directory from 3.0.2 and run with -S all

Note that's a 32-bit build.
Here's a 64-bit one.

Since this thread is going to now develop in methods and ways to get these running...

I purchased 3 miners.  Once I found out the were shipping, I quickly did some research and I figured a raspberry PI would be the best thing to control these... I did little to no research after that because other things came up.  I have a while before my miners get to me I assume, so I hope to have my setup ready for when they arrive.

If anyone would like to point me in the right starting direction, I would appreciate it.  Things like what OS I should put on my pi, what miner I should use...  I plan to buy this: http://www.amazon.com/Anker%C2%AE-Uspeed-7-Port-Adapter-Chipset/dp/B006TT91TW ... can I use that to power the pi, and then also plug it into the PI for splitting to the USB miners?  or will that create some sort of infinite loop of doom... (pure ignorance here).

After I get it running... I would like to then get it running off the grid (and then brag about how green bitcoin is to shut those environmental fuckheads up).  Any pointers on rigging up a solar charger to a battery system that could power this setup... or maybe a bike hooked to a generator?  Is that feasible?

Basically... those of you setting up multiple units, and using a PI, what is your setup going to be?
